  1. As Phil was mentioning, we're talking about shad from Table Rock getting sucked into Taney. They're either stunned or killed and the trout chow down. I remember one of them where the fishing was magnificant! Chrome Domes in all sizes were the ticket. 1/100 to 1/8th. "And we'll have fun, fun, fun till ...." loo10
  2. Gary's is a good place to eat but don't fill out anything to "win a free dinner". You will be bombarded by telemarketers! I'll go back someday but it kinda turned me off,
  3. As Charlie Brown always said, "GOOD GRIEF!"
  4. Ooooooo...grillin' out on Saturdays. Now THAT'S a good reason for showing up!! loo10
  5. Two years ago my son gave me a telescoping lure retriever from Bass Pro Shops. I extends out to 18'. It's paid for itself easily with lures retrieved. It's only about 20 bucks or so. If you REALLY have a good idea where it is.... it might be money well spent. OR....you could take me along. I love a good road trip! I'll bring the retriever!! loo10 P.S.- Know anybody with an Aqua-Vu?
  6. It is common for me to use #10 & #12 scuds when there is generation at Taneycomo. Good luck.
  7. Take a camera and grab a few shots next time. Love to see the goggle-eye. B'Sides...... you never know when you might catch a glimpse of the GTMES...Giant Taneycomo Man-Eating Squid.
  8. Don't know what causes this phenomenum but I'm a multiple spawner myself.
  9. I can fish whatever line I need to. I have several including a Rio Versitip with 4 tips on it from dredger to floating. I've been told to tie clousers but that's all I know. Im curious about size, color, etc. besides other options that are tried-and-true. Thanks in advance for any help. BTW Terry...I WILL be checking with Jim and Michael. Thx!
  10. What are the flies I need to tie to fish the Arkansas River when the stripers/whites/wipers start running? I need to get started tying. Thanks!!
  11. I laughed right out loud at this post. No fluff...no beating around the bush. Just..."you caught fish, I was home watching tv"... Therefore......you suck! Very funny!
  12. Problem is..... some people don't want identified with their comments. I guess I can understand that somewhat as people feel free-er to say what's on their minds. I, on the other hand, feel if I won't stand behind what I say.... maybe I shouldn't say it. However, as we have seen on earlier posts, retaliation is a horrible thing!
  13. Are the O2 levels low enough to cause that kind of kill? Does it effect a fish's ability to survive even after being revived at boatside? Example: Do they swim off appearing ok and then go belly up? I know some of you guys are very knowledgable about this. I'm a little fuzzy on the in's & out's of O2. At what level does it become marginal?
  14. Can we attend if we are not members of Branson TU?
  15. I think we do a good job preaching about reviving BIG fish but the little ones need the same tlc to survive. I fish from a boat 90% of the time and one has to be careful about playing a fish and then netting it and keeping it out of the water for an extended period of time while unhooking it. You can't just flip it over the side like a bass...it'll croak. I've spent alot of time educating "passengers" about proper release methods. If you take the time.... they'll always...eventually...swim out of your hand. Catch...REVIVE...then release! But the ones I saw saturday were in one general area.... right where they were dumped!!!! They didnt die from poor release methods.
  16. Fished below Lookout Island from my boat on Saturday. Did very, very well using zebra midges in red. Unfortunately we saw loads of fish dead on the bottom from Point Royale scattered downstream. They all appeared to be in the slot...dead...lying on the bottom. Best guess is someone caught them and dumped them out of their livewell for whatever reason. Very sad to see.
  17. I got it..... I got it..... I got it..... I don't got it!
  18. Michael, Are you going to need some help moving?
  19. Ducky, Did you take these pics with your Pentax?
  20. Which Pentax Optio do you guys have? The W30?
  21. Happy Thanksgiving to you too Michael. I'm thankful, among other things, to have you as a friend. I'll be rooting those Tigers on enough for both of us! Gooooo TIGERS!!!!!!! ~Rich
  22. I've been asked to make a Christmas list and I want a new digital camera for taking fish pictures. Which one should I ask for? Currently, my wife and I are sharing one. But since I have a new grandaughter....Im not getting it much. Here's my criteria: 1.) Takes good night photos. I fish at night alot. 2.) Small size to fit in a vest 3.) Takes quickly without a delay so movement doesnt matter so much (those pesky flopping fish) 4.) Cost. Interested in most bang for buck!! 5.) Any other goodies I need? Thanks. Your input WILL be used. loo10
  23. ha-ha You guys all have different wives than what I have. My beloved would have FREAKED out!!!!!!!!! If we'd have had a hatching of either mantis' or garter snakes in the house... I'd have had to go without sleep or food until I'd wrangled them all up. "Have you got all of them? You sure????? Then what are you sitting there for? Get busy Boy!"
  24. Russ, Where & how did you fall?
  25. Id really like to tag along on one of these trips. I promise to help clean my share and eat my share if it can ever be arranged. All night sucker fish fry.....BRILLIANT!
