My wife is visiting relatives so maybe I can sneak this in, I have to many fishing rods and reels and fishing gear that are still usable and in good condition, not HIGH dollar but good stuff. My toys have gotten higher priced. Is there a trust worthy organization that I can donate some to for the disabled or youth in order to give them a good start? If not why can't we start one? Duck.

Having a tough year catching Whites, today started at Butler and fished past Hausman's had 16 keepers of 14-15 inches, no dinks. The females still had eggs and the males were squirting. Anyone have guesses why this year is so slow and unpredictable. Water temps of 62 way up the river. Most on X-Raps in Ghost. Just means we have to go again, darn it, but someone has to do it. Duck.

Wish I had better news on the Whites. Saturday and Sunday we put in at Holiday Island and fished our favorite places up and back all the way past Hausmans, one White each day. Water temps Sat was around 46 and Sun. around 51-54. Could not find them even on the Humminbird. The trolling motor got on heck of a workout Sunday, just a tad windy. It will improve. DUCK.

rps, how far back in Butler did you get? I went around the trestle and turned around. Caught 3, 14 inch whites at the mouth. Started in Roaring river and nada. Last Tuesday in the same area 55 nice whites the 30 tasted yummy. Nice to meet you. Duck. ..

Put in at 9:30 at Eagle Rock,looked for Whites. Roaring River is ice covered as is backs of nearby coves, not a bite and little to none on depth finder. Water temp 38-39. Duck.

Want to fish Mexico for a biggen and be warm this winter. What and when is the best time and how long of a stay. Where is the top places. Would like to go in Jan. or early Feb. Bill Babler any input? Duck (Roger)

Bill same thing Craig and I have been getting, usually about 40 fish a day, half on top and the rest on drop shot, all but one or two 12-13 inches. I'm also looking forward to the next few years. Glad your back and appreciate your reports. Duck.

Hit the water at six am. We each ended up with 14 but not one keeper again. Half on top water other on drop shot. Tried a spoon with the top water and still little ones. Tried new water and could see lots of fish but few biters at 35-40 feet. Going to keep chasing them and figure out where the bigguns are. Still a GREAT day to be on such a pretty lake. Is anyone else fishing? Very few boats. Duck.

Hit it again at 6:15, slow start but got fair. The two of us ended up with 43( can't get out of that range) Half on top, spook, spook junior, pup. ONE (1) one (1) did I say ONE keeper. The rest drop shot at 30-40 feet. Eagle Rock to just above Shell Knob. Most where twice the size of the spook. Is this a good sign of things to come? At 11 am the Navy hit the water and we went to the Pub for lunch. Duck.

No huge keepers, one would go 31/2 pounds, the others 16 inches. Would have weighed more if they had not spit 5-10 shad first. Good luck. Duck.

On the water at 6:15 again today, 41 blacks ( 4 keepers still swimming) 4 nice white bass about 14 inches. Half on top water early(Spook and Spook Pup.) The rest on drop shot rigged ala Mr. Babbler. Thanks again for teaching us Bill.( Roger and Craig ) Mainly on deep water flats for the top then 35-40 foot of water for the drop shot. Hope this is a good sign for fall. DUCK.

Was on the water at 6:15, started throwing a spook and the bite was super. Two of us ended up with 46 blacks, 40 on top water. Shad everywhere, 7 keepers that are still roaming the area. Somewhere between HI and Big M. Duck.

Champ, good luck. Had half my left kidney removed 4 years ago and the first few days are the worst. All is clear to date and still fishin like you will be soon. Hang in there. Duck.

Just returned from a half day with Bill Babbler. We requested that he teach us how to drop shot and how to use the electronics effectively. What a super morning with such a great guy. He went out of his way to explain everything and did exactly what we wanted. He said from the beginning fishing was tough but we still boated over 20 fish and had a great time.
