    Canoe

Would like to buy a 15-16 foot canoe, 3 seats preferred.
  2. Put in at Holiday Island at 8 off at 2:30 with 2 boats, started looking for whites at Butler and kept working our way up as for as Houseman's( temp 58), ended up with 34 whites with half being small males. Most where caught on steeper banks and very scattered. All caught on A-rig with 3" Berkley swimmin Shad. We still have not caught a single one in Butler. Good Luck, Duck.
  3. Wanting to buy a youth shotgun for my Grandson. Prefer 20 gauge. A combo of field and slug barrel would be perfect. Thanks, Duck.
  4. In at Holiday Island at 8:30 and just knew we were in for good fishing after Fri.- Sun. Wrong, we worked our butts off and ended up with 18 keeper whites and 1 keeper walleye. We caught 1 fish where we found them the other days, all the rest were up river off a cut clay bank, went as far as Blue springs. All on A rig, water temp at Blue Springs was 60. Its time for a cold " sodee ". Good luck, Duck.
  5. Short day back up the White, boys had to leave. Same run as Friday and Saturday from Holiday Island, on at 8:30 off at 12. 62 nice whites, 4, 16 to 16 3/4 inch Walleye, 1 dink black. All in a 200 yard stretch, very different than the two previous days when they were spread out. Need to take a day or two off and let my A rig casting arm regain its original length. Good Luck, Duck.

    More Whites

Sorry I'm late with the reply. We went as far up as what they call Rock House.
  7. Today same everything as yesterdays run up the White except 2 boats, 4 fishermen, total 88 whites all would have been keepers and 2 blacks over 15" We are not catching and dinks but no BIG sows either. The Grandsons are getting spoiled and I love it. Good Luck, Duck.
  8. In at Holiday Island at 9, ran up river on our run and ended with 39 would be keeper whites and 1 dink black. Again not a bite in Butler but most on pre bends with cut banks. All on A-rig with 3" Pory Swimmin Shad. Water temps 54-58. Going again tomorrow,Grand kids, 6 and 8 had a blast reelin those " Biggens ) in, as they would say. Good Luck, Duck.
  9. Started at Holiday Island at 9 and made the same run as Friday( Yabba Dabba Doo ) with the same baits, bite was ok till about 10 and then we struggled till about 2 when we got a spurt. Ended with 12 nice keepers, 3 releases, one 3.2 lb sow. and my huge 5 inch Kentuck Water temps 56-60. Bill, only my huge Kentuck, in Butler. Something is really wrong in Leatherwood and Butler. I think in Leatherwood it may be the peanut and popcorn factory in Eureka letting the shi--- fly... Will try again tomorrow up the Kings. Good Luck, Duck.
  10. Bill, sorry to say but we did not have a bite in Butler which is very strange at this time of the run. Good Luck, Duck.
  11. Finally a good White bass report. Put in at Holiday Island at 9 ( after a great breakfast at The Back Porch ) and headed up river. Fished places where we could see them on the Humminbird but no takers then at 11 someone turned the switch on. We ended at 2:30 pm (Family stuff) with 34 real nice whites between 11/2 and 21/2 pounds and one 2lb black. Surprised, no dinks. No real numbers in one place, most in 15-25 feet of water. All on A-rig with 3 inch Berkley PowerBait in Shad.Water Temps 52 to 55. Good Fishin, Duck.
  12. In at Holiday Island at 10 am, started at HI and fished the flats and other ares we know can produce up to what some call Rock House, (Also hit Butler Creek), did not have a bite nor did we graph any( water temps 45 to 49). Ran to Roaring River fished it in and back out, nada,(temp 50-51) Ran to Leatherwood fished it in and out, zip, Temp 48) Used X-Rap,A-rig,and other favorites. Will have to work at finding them, Good Luck, Duck.
  13. Thank you, I would have missed that date, you will save some fines I bet. Duck
  14. For spinning reals I like Stren Magnathin. As for the tangle off the spool, I only have that problem if I put too much line on. Good Luck. Duck
  15. Just wondering what the thoughts are on how the White Bass will react to all the warm weather and low water. Will it cause them to make their run early and where will they go? Does the length of day help trigger them? Just something to think about. It sure is nice to be able to sit on the deck and clean and respool reels in early February. Duck.
  16. Got blanked today, first time while fishing TR. Put in at Viney at 9 off at 1:30. Hit main lake and secondary points down to Mill creek across from the Kings mouth. Threw A-rig, Pointer( Jerkbait), tube, spoons, wart, nothing worked for us. Water temp 43-47. Had one nice thump on the A-rig, must have hit one of the dummy baits. Very nice day for Jan.11 with Bald eagles everywhere. Good luck and stay warm. Duck.

    Viney

Put in at Viney about 8:30 off at 2. Lots of bait in Viney and most other places but few fish for us. Ran into Bill Babler and he suggest trying the A-Rig over tree tops, we had some misses and 1 nice keeper with it. Bill stopped a bit later and said he was having some success with it but no keepers, hope his luck changed. Later we had another keeper and a short on the wart. Even with few fish its great to be fishing with moderate weather in late December. Hope it continues. Good luck and Happy Holidays to all. Duck
  18. Back at Sweetwater but later start at 9 am. off at 2. Very little wind and bright skies made it tough. 2 on spinnerbait, 2 on Wart like plug, 3 on drop shot. All on or around docks. Bait was not as abundant as it was Monday. Water temp 55-56. Hope the weather holds but could use some clouds and wind. Good Luck, Duck.

    Sweetwater

Yes Bill that is correct, straight at the little post office. Be careful on the ramp because of the low water you will go off the concrete ramp and drop about 4 inches, just take it slow. Parking lot is also pot holed. Good luck and don't catch them all. Make sure to get a look at the huge house across from ramp. Duck.
  20. Put in at Kings River Public use area (Sweetwater) at 7:30 and fished till 11 when the trolling motor mount gave it up, almost lost the whole thing. Was having our best day in a while with 6 Ks in the boat and 2 quick release jumpers, one of 3 lbs easy. Fishing mainly main lake points with WE spinnerbait(mouse) and square lip crank bait similar to a wart ( shad color). Water temp 54-55 and WINDY.Bait suspended everywhere. Hoping for more good weather. Good luck. Duck.
  21. You wife's pole = your wife's fish I do believe. Either way great fish.
  22. I have a Dawg and added 6, 4 inch long pieces of window weight chain to it which helps it snag almost all hooks. Good fishin, Duck.
  23. Had a better day but still not good. In at Viney at 7 off at 1. Started in the back of a nice creek and fished out, 1 keeper, 1 short on Pop R, nothing on spinner bait. Fished some points with timber and wind,1 short on spinner bait. Went to another creek half way back and caught 4 shorts on drop shot. Quite a few boats for opening day of deer season. Water temp 58-61. 3 beautiful bald eagles. Good fishin to you all. Duck.
  24. In at Viney late, 9 am. Took Bills advice and towed the jigs in water 25-40 foot, had one taker, forgot our worms for C-rig. Water temp average of 60 degrees. 1 nice keeper on spinner bait off of wood. We found some bait but not a bunch. Talked to a few others also having tough day. What a pretty fall day, love TR even when it spanks me.Will figure this fishing out soon I hope. Good luck. Duck.
  25. Put in at Viney at 7:45, foggy so we fished Viney till 9 and them started hitting different spots down to the Kings, We tried backs of creeks, tops of timber, docks.Tied on,drop shot, spinner baits, jigs, with POOR results, ended up with 2 short spots on a spook junior. Talked to a few others and they had about the same report . I wonder if the bright full moon had something to do with it. Will still keep trying while the weather lasts. Duck.
