  2. I hunt the James & Flat Creek area a lot it usually very productive in late season. I cant believe I have only been out twice this year I did not even get my duck boat out of the barn this year. Oh well.
  3. Well it is funny that you have brought this up I was just looking at my IGFA World Record Book. I have 5 fish that are very much in the reach around here. Thats my goal to set 5 more IGFA Line Class World Records. Heck one of them might be the All Tackle IGFA World Record. Michael
  4. looked good Terry.

  8. Looks great Zach There is a book out there by Ron Knight about tying spinner baits for fly rods.
  9. What is the Serial Number on the reel? Thank you
  10. Yes you are correct fishinwrench. But all records in the hunting books are killed right. Plus I just thought about this what about the bear hunts 90% of them are over bait. Plus what about people that have deer feeders in the state of Missouri they have to be out 10 days prior to you hunting that area. Why must feeders be moved prior to hunting but if you have a food plot it can stay? I realize none of this has to do with fishing but I think it can create some discussion. I think you all can see since I sold the shop I am getting bored in between feedings and changing diapers with the new baby.
  11. I was going to put this in on the other thread but decided to make it it's own. This way off the subject but why do people get up in arms about keeping and killing big fish. I don't ever recall a person being ridiculed about a record book Deer, Elk, Moose, Bear. (I am sure there is some) But there is no catch and release hunting. It may also exist but there seems to be the big debate about Bait fishing, Fly fishing or spin/bait cast fishing. It seems to me there is a little debate about riffle vs. bow I am sure there is some but not like what it is in the fishing industry. What is the difference with the fish side.
  12. I want an AT Hart reel for my Mint 1930 Winston Bamboo Rod Never been fished I think I will break it in.
  13. Well I have no Idea what to say except I agree with Lilley what a LOW BLOW!!!!!!! I am a fly fisherman as you all know and that is the only way I fish from salt to fresh, and this is one argument that I have never understood why people get so disemboweled about how and what fish are caught on. Who cares as long as he did it legal and he did. As I stated back when the news broke about the new State Record CONGRATS WHAT A FISH Scott All I have to say is Scott I hope you read this if you are on here look at the Jealousy that has come from others on here. I fish for records for the IGFA Line Class with a Fly rod since I started doing so about 3 years ago I have had the pleasure of catching one, and their is one person on here that can back the story up. I researched the records and found one that was obtainable that spring. I did it, but believe me it was a Meir accident and was luck. I hope to break a few more this spring Again Scott CONGRATS I would rather be lucky than good any day of the week. Looks like to me if you want to catch a record fish you need to stay at Lilleys I also have question since we are on the subject of ethics What is the difference in shuffling on Taney and some one waiting for the right hatch lets say the HEX hatch up in Michigan where you can pretty much scoop the Hex off of the water. Again who cares what you catch fish on as long as you do it legal, and ethical you are the only one that has to look at your self every morning. Basically if you lie about a fish and how you caught you are only lying to yourself.
  14. I Agree Let it go It is a record and thats all it is. I do practice C&R but as you all know I killed a fish for a record and I know a few others that have as well. Laker I could have swore that the IGFA had one. Look in your 2009 record book, I can not find the box that mine is in. I could be wrong though I know I have been wrong be for though. : .
  15. I am a big C&R Guy on a lot of things and Missouri trout are one of them Trout are supposed to pink not white. About the only fish I will keep are Crappie, Walleye, and Whites. Got have fish for a fish fry once a year. He was in the right to do what he needed to do for the record though. I will say this the IGFA has created a C&R record section. Maybe Laker can fill us in I can not aces the IGFA Records for some reason tonight.
  16. At this time I am going to bow out I have no time. Plus since the sale of the shop all of my Tying stuff is in a pile in the garage. Next time I promise
  17. Did you catch it on a sculpin
  18. This has become a very interesting thread. I love how it was a simple FWI. I can defiantly see both sides of the story. I just wonder can we really put Crane Creek into the same category as NFOW. Yes it has trout in it, I wonder when the last time it was stocked? I think that there are a lot of technicality's out there that exist with each stream. If the trout in the NFOW are wild because they spawn and have adapted to survive then the Browns in the White must be wild too. They spawn and have adapted to live in the tail water. Yes they still stock Browns but there are spots where the Browns come to spawn every year and do so successfully. The AGF have taken a stand to make it better they close the dam area so that this may take place. Plus they increased the length limit on the Browns. One thing I would say if these are truly wild trout in the NFOW and Crane Creek why does the MDC not get involved and close this to fishing during the spawn time, so that they can spawn and continue there gene pool. Why would they put the state parks higher on the pole and close them where they are producing and releasing fish everyday to numbers of tags sold. Seems a little back wards to me. I think it will depend on what day it is if I call them WILD or Stream Bred Michael .
