I also like an interactive log. An app assoc with it for easy entries after fish catches to record and enter data tjat can later be viewed and studied on pc or tablet/device. GPS those catches on a topo map as well would be very cool.
Haven't been in two weeks but did catch some on a shakes head and big worm. No real pattern but seemed brush was effective and steep drops. Needed deeper water. But I am sure it has changed since then
You have oxidation. Anything you apply will make it look ok u til it dries. The only real fix for oxidation is to have it wet sanded out. You can do ot yourself bit it is pretty labor intensive. If it is really light oxidation you may be able to rid of it with some 3m rubbing compound but chances are you will meed to wet sand. Once wet sanded then you Mus be sure to protect it with something that hasUV protection. Motor oil or pledge or gun oil etc etc wont protect it from tje sun and that is how the oxidation started in tje first place.
I really enjoy the site. he fishes nearly everyday and is no more than an average fisherman like me that loves it and just reports the information. He has networked quite well with some local sticks and includes them on the monthly videos which I find very useful. if you know what to listen for you can get some valuable information from the local pros. For someone like me that has very limited time to fish, when I do go fishing I can at least look over the reports and site and get an idea on where to start when I hit the lake.
I think we are hitting the end of the season. I would say the more south you are the closer to the end it is. Here in Phelps I am thinking this weekend might be the last hurrah.
found about 100 so far. I am pretty sure it is safe to say they are growing well in many places this year. Most of mine have been under elms, but found a few under cedars, some under oaks, some in the middle of nowhere in the woods.
thanks Ranger. where is your place? We have an rv at Whitesides hidden acres near the pittsburg state park. gonna be there this weekend and I would like to hunt so I will probably wander the woods a bit there. the rain should help. I assume it rained there, we got a good rain in rolla and its still raining.
Ranger520vx where are you at? It says Pomme in your profile. I will be down to Pomme this weekend at the camper. Any areas that I should look for to hunt? would like to find some this weekend!!
I found about 40 2 days ago in the Rolla area. All but 2 under one dead elm.
what type of areas are producing? I am looking right at my house which is creek bottoms and flood plain areas. I basically look for sycamores and start my search in those areas???
old plug, don't tempt me lol. I am 36 with 3 kids and love the outdoors and lake life. I love getting the kids outdoors in the woods and water rather than sitting in the house playing video games and watching movies. We currently have an RV at Pomme but the driving for that and fishing gets old. I used to tournament fish a lot more and not so much now due to lack of time needed to compete.
I have time, one day I will at least have a part time "lake place" at some lake to be able to get away to.
Nice haul. I don't have any spots yet. Just started hunting last year. Found about a dozen or so but it was late whenI got started . Only found one so far thos year. Sure hope they aren't up yet too well yet and the rain brings them up in my area. The craving is getting to me.
yall that live there and have the luxury of going out for a couple hours here and there are blessed. I am so jealous. 3 kids and an hour and half drive mean my time is limited.
Nice. I will be down this weekend. would like to get the kids out fishing for some crappie too with minnows. I am not much of a crappie guy. might need some guidance.
we got a little rain today this morning. I will be out tomorrow to check it out. hopefully that gets em going. I went out a lot yesterday and didn't find squat.
