1. Bbc is a great start. Also look up Doug vahrenburg on YouTube. Great videos and free
2. Thanks. Man I am wanting to fish Pomme bad.
3. many may also wear themselves out more by not having proper equipment or setup too.
4. I would say you are probably right. Look at the areas teh A-Rig started and is growing to. Pretty much traditional bass baits are the norm. I would assume like you that the more one throws it the easier it is on them Im sure.
5. I would assume casting to bass, the number of cast are far greater than the other styles. Cast, retrieve repeat. Other styles for other species many times involves trolling. Neither are "easy" by any means, I just think bass anglers are comparing to other bass lures. and when you are casting 1000+ times a day it takes a toll.
6. I see this one is being kept a little hush hush. I know about what you do, that there are quite a few throwing them.
7. Cool thanks. See a few local sticks on that members list. Lol
8. 27+ pound bad was caught by the Lawson and Payden Hibdon on Lake of the Ozarks on Jerks and Jigs last weekend. Its pretty good bite here.
9. And as a MN native and diehard Viking fan, I have no idea why I would assist a Packer fan
10. My suggestions would be to start with setup. I am not sure a cranking stick is your best option. I would opt for a 6'6"med action rod. This will also be easier on your wrist. I would go to even smaller line like 10 lb. then before you even start fishing est your bait in the water to be sure it suspends. I like a little nose down and very slow sink in cold of winter. Then you can cast. Jerk jerk pause and like said earlier experiment with cadence. Rule of thumb though is the shorter the pause the smaller the fish. WATCH YOUR LINE
11. got this from Janns Netcraft. It is the skip cut and the silicone strips http://www.jannsnetc...making-material/ found I didn't like it as much as the striped or barbed wire skirt material. larger bags are 2oz and small ones are 20 strips from janns. I HAVE USED SOME SO COUPLE BAGS ARE NOT COMPLETELY FULL BAGS I have used some to make a few jigs so these are not full. I am not going to sit and count them all. Any questions feel free to holler. $50 shipped from upper left to right purple/blue crystal - one 20 strip pack blue/silver flake - one 2oz bag black - one 2oz bag gold pumpkin pepper - two 2oz bag Chartreuse - 20 strip pack red/red flake - 20 strip pack hot pink - 20 strip pack orange pepper - 20 strip pack root beer pepper - two 2oz bags green pumpkin pepper - two 2oz bags

12. nope, 3 wire rig is what is legal in MO. some are using 5 wire with 2 of the wires containing dummy baits with no hook or spinner blades.
13. Please do, I would be interested. email is dchance@rolla.k12.mo.us thanks
14. No, I think they are still up and running. It is an older place, I have never been inside so I can't help there, but it is right next to a Sonic. Not sure the price, but I would call around. there are some pretty nice places in Rolla that are much more up to date, but I have never heard anything bad about the Rustic though.
15. I like it too. pretty cool
16. I live in Rolla, never stayed at the Rustic. There are quite a few options for hotels. Where are you fishing? River? If it is the lake, you may be better off staying somewhere closer to the lake. I am and hour and half from Lake of the Ozarks which is the closest lake. Let me know if you have any questions since I am local.
17. thanks, I was wondering how Pomme has been fishing as of late.
18. there is also a good link to a lake cam on LOZ if interested I could dig it back up. from one of the condos sites I think.
19. Great write up Jack, thanks!
20. I frequent many online forums, but I like it here the best for local information. I like the index page as well. maybe include Pomme de Terre on the list of lakes????
21. I don't believe the Trimble outdoors has lake maps though with depth contours etc. I think it is just a topo map.
22. I would love to get my hands on a good topo map of LOZ and Pomme too. As far as apps go, Navionics has a great app ($10 or $15) that you can use a lot like it was on your GPS unit. topo map, waypoints, ability to create waypoints, GPS, etc.
23. To me channel swings are anywhere the channel of any river, main or large creeks turns. Now these are not always fishable like you stated. I like to concentrate on the areas where you see the channel come close to the shore like mentioned above. typically these will be very steep banks like bluffs. flats are relative to the lake. flats can be anywhere from 5-15ft deep or if it is a deep lake can be 20-30ft ect. it is all relative. a flat is a larger area of the same depth water usually adjacent to deeper water. many flats will drop off sharply into the channel. in terms of the article, I like to look on the map and find the area of the lake I will be fishing. then I will look for areas where the channel swings in close to the bank. I like to start fishing on the transition where the channel just connects with the shore then fish that bank until the channel bends away from the shore.
24. great product. I have one too. here's a free bump.
25. I see they are still running tourney for this circuit. any idea on a schedule through the winter?
