  1. yeah it would be nice if they fixed this
  2. Thanks for the update zhoyt. I was down there sunday morning and it was a super slow day. They were not hitting the midges so i decided to try to top water flys. They seemed to key in on my brown grasshopper flys but i only caught a few. one thing i did notice were a lot of dead fish on the bottom of the river. Im guessing this is normal to see after they stock the river though. that is the unhealthy ones dying off.
  3. Took the kayak down to the tailwater yesterday. Fishing was a little slow but i was able to catch a few nice ones. Tan and Blue dun midges worked best for me. Early in the morning we had no drift flow what so ever and i think that might have affected at least my fishing. About 10:30 it picked up. Tons of fish are in the tailwater right now due to the stocking. Lots of people were yesterday but i think it also had to do with parker being closed for construction. does anyone know when they plan to be finished with construction ? just thought i would throw out an update for everyone see ya on the river
  4. i would advise to go fore a sit in kayak and go to a longer rod. bu that would just be my opinion. I pretty much hate everything about a SOT kayaks when it comes to fishing rivers ans streams. Now if we are talking fishing on a gulf or along inter coastal waterways i would totally say use a SOT. Also the "hybrid" kayak/canoes have really been catching my eye. I know Mohawk and Mad River have roto molded hybrids and this right here might be the next boat i buy http://www.madrivercanoe.com/product/index...s/adventure_16/
  5. i recommend picking up a couple of these http://www.thebeerbelly.com/
  6. im not suprised one bit that came out of the little sugar.
  7. not looking good. lots of rain coming this weekend as well
  8. HAve you taken a look at crazy creek seats ? i use the kayak seat for my sit in perception swifty and its very comfortable and has great back support http://www.crazycreek.com/product/3/24/ this is the one i have but check out the other models
  9. i really like the new format. Great job guys.
  10. http://www.swl-wc.usace.army.mil/WCDS/plots/Web/bea.htm this is the correct link the link at the top of the forum is actually the chart for Norfork looking like we might get some low water this weekend ( fingers crossed ) i plan on heading down sunday morning as long as there is no generation. Wind permitting i may also bring the kayak because im guessing quite a few poeple will have the same idea.
  11. Just picked up a Lefty Kreh Signature Series rod 5 wt. I think i want a fighting butt on this rod just for the sole purpose of protecting the end of my rod. I looked on tfo's website and it doesnt look like im able to just flat out buy one from them. Where would be a good place to go ( real place or internet ) to get one of these for my rod ?
  12. Fishing is decent in bella vista but if you want to get into the bigger ones you are better off fishing the parts up in mo. Those areas hold really nice fish ( and a dung load of snakes also so be careful those snakes dont seem to be too afraid of people )
  13. Last year someone showed me how they used a needle to connect their fly line to the leader. He took the needle and heated it up. stuck the needle up into the line and let it melt to a certain extent. Then he glues the needle to the line where they met. I thought it was kinda cool but personally i dont think i could ever trust it to really hold. He said he had never had any trouble with it though. Anyone else ever used or seen this being used ? I just tie a small loop at the end of my line and use the loop to loop leaders
  14. Get on down to paradise Maybe once, now maybe twice
  15. Ive seen a couple of these down on the beaver tailwater. Always wondered exactly what they were. And ive only run across them dead. I could totally see brown trout eating these things
  16. thats what exactly what i do to a certain extent. i like to travel as light as possible. i have a handful of these slim boxes that i use for certain locations. I keep the majority of my flys in a soft FLW tackle bag with the rectangle plastic boxes inside.
  17. Here is my flybox for the beaver tailwater
  18. when they placed rock or boulders in the beaver tailwater they had a special barge type boat. I have seen pics on this site of the contraption. Also i think the point about the man made structures is a good idea. they already make fake reef structures the same things or slightly different structures would not be hard to get a hold of. god bless those big rocks on beaver they are great for sitting on when you need to take care of an issue but dont want to hike all the way out of the water :ninja
  19. ecce, thanks for the report. Ive been down twice in the past two months but they were running the water so i wasnt able to hike in to old catch and release section. The fish do look good right now. Cant wait to get out now that the water is low :ninja
  20. even if the 2nd amendment was taken away that would not get rid if guns. It would only cause a huge black market to explode. you people who think martial law is going into effect or that obama is the anti christ ect ect , need to stop take a breath and cut down your drug intake
  21. ok now i have read this whole thread and im going to say this... some of us here have double standards. i think its time for everyone to go fishing im ready for the weekend
  22. also im not going to read this whole thread but has palins knocked up, unmarried, 17 year old daughter been brought up ?
  23. fishing forums are not really a good place for politics to be discussed. Some of you folks need to put down the fox news
