  1. cast upstream and let it drift toward you, and you have to experiment with head weight. the fish in current are use to their prey not always siting still. of course this is just my opinion
  2. I was always able to play a fast round by playing 2 fairways at the same time. think they called it a hook or a slice
  3. what I noticed was how murky the water was and that bass nailed it before it touched the water. the bass had to have seen the bait dangling in the air. who says your lure must have rattles. I think a big bass is just as tuned into its environment as a trophy white tail buck is to theirs
  4. one of them tackle busting yellow bass. they can put up a heart pounding fight. caught one once on a 12" worm
  5. mine was in 1997 on lake fork in tx. cold front had hit and the bites were a rare thing. what was so memorable is it was the last fishing trip I got to spend with my father before he passed a few months later. the look of shear joy on his face during that trip was priceless and is a memory I cherrish
  6. nice champ I like it. I've always used a spoon because you can get it down deeper and you can cast it a long way. I agree that you shouldn't waste much time in that area but is worth a cast or two
  7. sounds like you had a great time
  8. situation: fish are chasing shad over deep water but not breaking surface often and are not responding well to top water. what is your tool of choice in this situation. I know there are several techniques would just like to hear what some of you like to do
  9. good report with good info. it is so eazy to fall into the rut of the same retieve
  10. wonder how many boats and jet ski's will crash into each other this week end. just hope no one dies
  11. welcome to forum, neat handle
  12. thx guys, my pea brain is trying to overthink things again
  13. will be fishing bull shoals in near future at night. some suggestions on techniques to try to avoid the zebra mussels. the only ones I can think of are deep swimming a jig and slow rolling a single spin trying to stay as close to bottom and brush piles as possible. all advice welcome
  14. super k's, you da man Bill
  15. I have always had good results with okhuma reels. good quality at reasonable prices
  16. anyone know how deep you can expect to encounter zebra musles on bull shoals
  17. going to bull shoals in a couple of weeks from 7pm till 2 am, been trying to decide what I will do untill dark. I am going to swim a jig deep. of course will vary the retrieve. I have caught fish that way before but havn't stayed with it for long. advice welcome

  21. great post, walking the dog is an art form, Charlie Campbell was a master at it. another great river small mouth top water is a tiny torpedo
  22. we have a weener dog that is a rescue, probably over 10 yrs old, because of the grey muzzle. about 6 months ago he hurt his back and his back legs were parayized. would put him outside and he would follow the other dog dragging his hind legs. after 2 months of treatments and cage rest he was still paralyzed so ordered him a custom 2 wheel cart. he hated it and started trying to pull his legs under him, would wobble and fall but after a couple of weeks was showing remarkable improvement. today you would never know he had been paralyzed

know it works during the day anyone tried it at night, I've always used black and red or dark purple at night
  24. I'm thinking about bigger fish holding under the schools waiting for a free meal they don't have to chase. it wont be a numbers game but might produce a lunker. I know the bigger spoons work around docks at times
  25. what if a guy took one of the bigger 5" or 6" inch ones and thru it to the schooling fish and let it flutter down below the school?
