  1. You can have a real bang-up time fishing those propane tanks.
  2. Color choices are limited only by your imagination. You can also get them with different weights on your Ned head. Sample shown is with 1/8 but I actually prefer the 1-oz. and even the 2-oz. models, which are known as the Punch Nedfin.
  3. I'm an idiot sometimes. Meant driveshaft, not crankshaft. Mine was a clean break, too, right above where it joined the gearcase.
  4. Can't believe you managed to do that well in Beardsley. Terrible place to fish. Just awful, horrible, no good.
  5. Phil, I presume that 20K cfs amount puts none of your property in jeopardy?
  6. I would suggest that in this age of technology, I would work out an easy way to record any data/info you can from every trip good and bad. I never took that suggestion when I was your age (didn't have an easy way to do it) and now I only have memory to rely on. I think it would be of great value if you had actual trip data to fall back on.
  7. Quotes are available by PM only but I must point out that this little jewel is a steal at any price.
  8. I've given more thought to withholding information and decided that's just not right. So, in the spirit of cooperation and kum ba yah, I present you with my deepest, darkest secret lure ... THE NEDFIN!!! I promise, when you learn how to fish this baby, you won't be able to buy a deep freeze big enough to hold all the meat you'll bring home. Furthermore, you'll never spend another restless night fretting over where your hungry family's next meal is coming from.
  9. Cody, you're just paying your dues right now. Everyone goes thru it. One of these days there will be a bunch of young guys out there wondering how in the world you stay on top of the fish all the time.
  10. Don't forget swingsets and birdbaths.
  11. Boy Scout camp down 86 toward Blue Eye should be fine, too. Plus, you can stop at the junction and get a burger.
  12. One of the great things about fishing TR is the sheer variety of ways to catch them. You guys are stirring your adrenaline by talking about fishing deep and I'm thinking, why in the world would you fish deep with the water level heading up into people's yards? TR provides a great source of enjoyment for anyone who enjoys fishing in just about any manner they like to do it. We are blessed.
  13. I don't recall any reports like that and I'm on this forum several times every day. Not saying it's impossible but I think you're just trolling for a reaction bite that you're not going to get from me. Kind of like I don't go over to the Beaver forum and aggravate you guys anymore.
  14. Any stripers that are in TR are from Holiday Island up and will stay there. Why? Because of the trout. There is nothing a striper would rather eat than a rainbow trout. Period.
  15. You guys who like to read the fishing reports are cutting your own fingers off with your fillet knives. Because of all the self-professed meat fishermen on this site --- let alone those who have threatened to kill bass out of spite and all of the guests who stroll by undetected --- my reports will be notably lacking in detail from here out, and I know that several others have told me theirs will also be far more general in nature.
  16. Mercury had a series of weak crankshafts that included 2004 Optis. I had one that snapped while running on plane during a derby on Beaver. Merc at first tried to say I hit something and needed to file insurance, but they eventually reneged and sent a beefed up replacement shaft under warranty that held up for 7 years until I traded it a couple of years ago.
  17. Yes they will, but I will have the big motor tilted up and the bottom of the boat in the dirty stuff.
  18. About 20 years ago, the COE pulled Lake Ouachita down about 10 feet below conservation pool and mostly held it there for 5 years. The result was a world of new shallow-cover growth, which led to a rebound of crappie and largemouth bass populations. While Ouachita is also a flood control reservoir, it might be that this would be impossible with Table Rock because of location, weather patterns, etc. But new cover is never, ever a bad thing.
  19. Any such group of people would likely lack both the intelligence and numbers to do any real harm. So carry on, wayward sons.
  20. Say it ain't so, Bo. Not a runoff bite! Just when I was all geared up to start dropshotting. NOT!
  21. Gack!! That's crazy talk!!! Then we'd have those big saltwater munching machines cruising around eating every baitfish that moved.
  22. Got lucky, QB. They were both on the same spot.
  23. LOL, Donna would be at the head of that mob.
  24. Very good report, Darren. Thanks for sharing the details. I've seen that same "ugly point" pattern this time of year at Stockton and it's so hard to bring myself to stop on those not-so-great-looking places but by gosh it works!
  25. LOL, I'd have a lot better chance of living to see tomorrow if I filleted anything other than one of Donna's beloved brown fish.
