  1. Would seem like a lot of hoops to jump thru when the Eagle Rock COE ramp is only about a mile away.
  2. Do you use those Talons as a loom when tying these knots?
  3. Yup, but the effort it takes is well worth the trouble. Once you figure out the specifics of the modifications, it's pretty easy to tune one up to do what we want it to do.
  4. Now that's one jersey I would wear! LOL
  5. My cell phone to text Babler.
  6. Actually, I am the moderator for selling items on the TR forum. Go ahead and PM me with any potential for-sale threads --- especially if the items being offered include "good stuff" --- and I will prescreen and then upload the post for you.
  7. This knot may have me trying the braid/fluoro leader setup again. My big ol' paws and aging eyes just couldn't handle retying a new leader out in the boat after a breakoff. I believe I can manage this. Thanks, Pepe!
  8. Hey Cody, don't ever see you on the TR forum anymore. Hope all is well with you and your family.
  9. I picked up one of the red craw Rock Crawlers today and it's pretty much a dead ringer for the old V209 color. My only regret is not buying this color sooner.
  10. You might have a plan there, gitnby. On the other hand, winter sure needs to go away soon. Lots of idle minds running amok on here, certainly including mine! LOL
  11. I figure since that vid has had 31,000+ hits the cat is pretty much out of the bag by now LOL
  12. Anyone planning to fish a Wart or Rock Crawler when the water temp is below 50 would do themselves well to get on YouTube and search Wiggle Wart and Dave Barker. He's wearing a blue 100mph rainsuit throughout the vid. Pretty sure I posted the link here not long ago but that search will turn it up immediately. One of the best pieces of fishing instruction I've ever seen from one of the best to ever launch a boat in this region.
  13. Think how many fish have been caught over the years by trolling crank baits in 100 feet or more of water. Yes, grinding the bottom is the percentage play and it's pretty much the only way I fish a crank bait these days. But it's not the only way a fish ever bites one. It's just that there are probably better options for swimming a lure these days than in the old days, i.e. swim baits, the modern curly tail grub, suspending jerk baits, underspins, etc.
  14. I'm with Terrierman. They look stupid good.
  15. Have to say I enjoyed watching the Denver defense shut down Scam Newton. He got his butt kicked from start to finish and was pouting like a 5-year-old by the end. The guy has a world of physical talent but he has some maturing to do inside the noggin.
  16. Thank you, Ben!
  17. This is why I have 200+ crank baits in my boat at any given time. Bandits, Bombers, Warts, Fat Free Shad, SK Series 3, old Rebel Wee-Rs, Academy H2O's ... they all have their places and times. And yall thought I was just a spinnerbait and Redfin guy.
  18. I was thinking the same.
  19. Good info from someone who knows what they're talking about. Thanks, Ealy.
  20. Good job, Cheesemaster. Had the same thing happen to me on a jerkbait fish yesterday. Felt like a good fish. I don't mind losing them after I see them nearly as much as before. Unless it's a derby and then I hate losing them anytime.
  21. LOL, your eyes were right on. That's one of my go-to colors in stained water.
  22. All occupants of my boat are scanned for possession of audio/video recording devices and GPS units. That includes Donna.
  23. I'll take you as soon as you are ready. You can lounge in the sit-down seat on the back and I'll pass up throwing at all the prime spots so you can catch most of the fish, like I do for Donna. LOL
  24. Quillback nailed it. That Rock Crawler is a fish-catching dude. I don't know the specifics behind WHY they eat it, but they do. Yes, the Wiggle Wart is a fish catcher, too. I do know that Mike McClelland spent a lot of time getting the Rock Crawler prototypes the way he wanted them. They were released later than scheduled because he wasn't happy with the rattles. I'm glad he and Spro took the extra time because they sure got them right. Only problem is the bills do tend to break off, so be careful about smashing them against rocks on your cast and don't slap them on the water to clear them of moss, leaves, etc. If I had one color, it would be phantom brown. Second choice would be phantom green, and then spring craw.
