  1. You might also look at Trace Hollow Resort. Its near Baxter (midway between Kimberling and Shell Knob on 86 just north of the Arkansas border). Rick and Connie are the owners. Tell them Ross Chappell refered you ;-)
  2. Very Nice!
  3. Table Rock is still one of my all time favorites, however what Wayne was just talking about reminds me of the great old days when I was a young kid spending my summers there in the early 1970's to the early 80's. I remember during the early-mid 70's the roads leading to the lake were small and even somewhat "treacherous" especially when the ol LTD station wagon that was loaded with too much stuff pulling a boat (again loaded with too much stuff) would feel like it was "sliding" down the mountainsides on the loose gravel roads. One of many memories I had was hearing the dynamite going off and echoing through the mountains as the roads were still being built.
  4. Well I am no Captain however this Master Sergeant will welcome you back home! Like I said in my first post..."Home is where the HEART is"
  5. The SW corner of the Show-Me-State along with the Ozark and Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas is as good as it gets IMO. Heaven on Earth is an adequate description.... You will have a GREAT time!
  6. OOOHHH MYYY...that report has got my fishin fever SKY HIGH!!! Man I can't wait to get back to a country with BASS in it!!!
  7. Can they do that? Charge to use their ramp? I could have sworn my buddy (used to own Trace Hollow Resort) told me he legally could not charge people for using his ramp at the resort.
  8. The only bad thing is that darn Kansas wind can really screw things up when fishing that kinda pattern. It will pick-up your line and move a lure like that all over the place. I have always used a heavy weighted rig to keep it planted so it will only move when YOU want it to move. Either that or keep twitching.
  9. Thanks for the feedback My GOSH!!! I have never seen any of those lakes so LOW before!!! That is concerning. My wife said that we have been goign through a drought back home and it looks like it is taking its toll on the whole area.
  10. Very intersting...thanks for the info.
  11. Wow! I must go. I have driven over it once, last summer on my way back to the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. I really wanted to get out and explore but we were pressed for time. Mr. Agnew I don't know if you saw my post in "introduce yourself" but I must say I love your artwork. My favorite (a signed #'d) is the "bust" of a Timber Wolf that has its paws crossed in front of him. It is proudly displayed in my "wolf" den at home.
  12. Whats the story? Any reports from Beaver? Overall how would y'all rate Beaver, Bull Shoals and Table Rock,in order, as far as a Bass Fishery goes? (Largemouth, Smallies and Kentucky's {spotted}) I have only fished Table Rock but always wanted to fish Beaver.
  13. Welcome...O-Who???? LOL We Wichita State Schocker fans had a close call with OU. We almost lost the best NCAA Baseball coach to them after last season. Thank goodness (for us) it worked out that he stayed at WSU.
  14. Big Hill Lake is a VERY good Bass fisherie. Largemouth, Smallmouth, and Spotted. It is also an excellent Crappie and good White bass lake. Its only about 1300 acres but seems bigger. It is nesteled in a valley with hills and TREES all around it. The water is clear and the campgrounds are prime. The terrain is very similar to the Ozark Foothills. Oak, Hickory and Walnut trees completley cover the area. At night during summertime the smells and sounds transport you to your favorite Ozark lake. Katydids fill the night (sometimes to the point of having to raise your voice just to have a conversation LOL)with their "katy-did, katy-didn't" song along with the "Whip-poor-will's" calling. I "discovered" Big Hill when my CLub had a T on it. It's the best kept secret in Kansas as far as I am concerned. It is an hour and 45 min drive from Wichita which is nice....just far enough that the Wichita crowd doesn't make the drive. KR..GOD bless YOU for being there for our Youth in a time of terribly powerful secular infulence.
  15. Thank you for the warm welcome and thoughts. Lets just say I am on the other side of the world with lots of mountains and dust LOL. I live just SE of Wichita in a little town called Rose Hill. If I can't make it to the Ozarks you will most likely find me in the "little Ozarks" in SE Kansas between Parsons and Cherryvale on Big Hill Lake. KRflyfisher...where are you pastoring?
