I have a brand new, never registered, never warranted 2009 Supreme model 207 with the upgraded ez loader trailer. I won it at last weekends 2009 Supreme owners tourney. It has the 48 inch bottom, 63 inch beam, and is currently set up to accept a jet motor. This boat is the cadilac of the Supreme line and many folks run 30 to 40 hp jets on these with no problems. It has taller sides than the L48 and is a little more stable in my opinion. It has black stripe, two tempress seats with one being mounted on a spider chair base. I also have an additional base I would throw in for $50 which is about half price for those. All you would need to get is another Supreme tempress seat which are made here in Mtn. Home The invoices they gave me have this setup valued at over $9000. I called every dealer on the supreme website, and none currently have a 207 model in stock. Most had the L48 model in stock, and the lowest price quoted to me was $7995, and that was with the mid grade trailer. The deluxe trailer with spare tire and wheels and LED lights is an approximate $500 upgrade over the mid grade trailer. The base 207 boat is $250 more than the L48 as well. I have seen these boats used go for $6000+ with no problem in just a few days in the local newspaper. I am asking $7500 FIRM, which is at least $1000 off retail This boat has blank warranty, trailer title, and registration, so you will be the 1st owner of record. It can be set up for a prop motor as well for a couple of hundred dollars by cutting down the transom and refinishing which the supreme guys offered to do no problem. I would also work with someone on a reduced bill of sale for tax & registration purposes, so this is the time to act if you have been looking at these boats. I have owned a number of Supremes, and I promise you can not find this boat for less anywhere else. I am going to try it here for a few days and have already had a few calls on it. Matter of fact, I thought it was sold at the tourney with the buyer from Texas supposed to come get it tomorrow, but he has flaked out, so here it is. It will go in the Baxter bulletin and on KTLO trading post mid next week if no one is interested Feel free to contact me here or give me a call at 870-424-0233 or 870-421-2155. Was the water dead low all day?

Are you serious? First off, I have viewed this thread at least ten times myself, and I know numerous others have multiple views as well. Secondly, I know that upper end pretty good myself, and I believe there is plenty of room for everyone. I have had some record days and some zero days up there. Don't you know that 10% of the fisherman catch 90% of the fish. Maybe your not in that 10% or something, but I for one appreciate Bill's reports and look forward to them. They are insightful and generally only offer a small part of the total picture, and I gurantee 90% of people reading this will never be able to put it together for more than one or two trips per year. What is that going to hurt on that big pond? The walleye are basically put & take anyway. I probably have 30 banks I know in that area, and when people beat me there, I explore new territory and actually try to learn a few new spots. I think we should all try to help one another as much as possible to make this sport more enjoyable for the next guy because the facts are we are losing numbers every day and posts like yours and frankly that selfish attitude are what turn people off to hunting & fishing. Bill & Lilley, keep up the good work. Sorry for ranting on you Sam, but C'mon

Anyone have any more tips for the jig & float technique? Really going to try and learn it soon.
-
Hey guys, quick question. When using gthe jig and float, do you use spinning equipment like what you use regular jig fishing? I have never tried it without a fly rod. Also, do you use the round strike indicator like used in flyfishing so that you can vary the length of the dropper? A picture might be helpful. I am wanting to learn to use this on the White River in the Rim Shoals area. I really don't fly fish much, so wanting to learn the spin fishing method for the real light jigs, say 1/32 and down. Do you generally use the 1/80th oz? what other sizes are recomended? Thanks

gary flippin and rim shoals is the place. best fishing on the river IMHO and nice affordable lodging.

Here is another article on jigs with a few different perspectives. keep trying and you will get it. IMO The most important thing is to match the right weight jig with the amount of water and speed of the flow. I have found the 3/32 to be very effective when a 1/16 is too light and 1/8 too heavy. i prefer jigs from ejigs.com over zig jigs. The link is posted. they are less than a dollar a piece if bought a dozen at a time. They have better hooks IMO. Also, get yourself a good rod with matching size reel. I use a 7 foot g loomis medum light rod that is a saltwater popping rod, and i love it. Good backbone, and allows me to cast as far as I need to. Reel is a plueger president 6725 size I think. They are around $50 and are comparable to some much higher priced reels. I have landed up to eight pounders on this set up and four pound line. http://ozarkanglers.com/forums/index.php?s...&hl=brigman http://ejigs.com/Files/Product/Trout_1072/Default.asp

Best Fiberglass Jon Boat
cotterboy2007 replied to Piscator's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
If money is no concern, get a supreme 207. IMO that Shawnee pictured looks like it was finished by little kids. They are good boats, and very rugged. You used to be able to get a commisary model that was very wide. I used to have one. J & S are also pretty decent, but the supremes are top of the line. i hav had a 2000 series for seven years of HARD use and not a problem. the bottom is level, drains well, no runners, easy to keep clean, and is solid as a rock with a 25 hp cranked wide open with no weight in the boat. go run that shawnee with a 25 and no weight and watch the waves in the bottom of the floor. Also, crack the bottom around one of those wooden runners and it will evetually start to rot and have to be replaced. You may think that won't happen, but i have seen it happen to guys who know hte river like the back of their hand. downside to my supreme is only 2 of my 4 boxes stay completely dry, but they may have corrected that by now. Also, if you can have your own trailer built, you can sve some money over buying one from TI. I don't think a $2000 trailer is required to haul a 500 pound boat. Another tip is to order it plain from the factory and buy your own rails and seat stands from metal logic in flippin ar. that is where supreme gets them. Then just put them in yourself. My boat is light brown with black powdercoated rails and seat peds. with camo seats. By getting my own trailer, seat peds, and rails, I saved about $1500 off the package deal -
i tried the blue/orange rogue, husky jerk, xrap, and rattletrap. I think the fish I am after only feed a few times per day on this real high water, and bites can really be few and far between. I have known Brigman for 5 or 6 years. We met up bowhunting in northern Missourri and became fast friends. He comes and fishes with me 4 or 5 times a year. He actually caught the biggest fish my boat has ever seen.. It was 30+ inches long and weighed inthe 12 to 13 pound range. I posted the big bad brown story earlier in the year. It was from when he was at the news leader. RS, do you know Brigman, or just from his writing.

Me and Steve Brigman fished out of Rim Shoals on Thursday evening and Friday Morning. Thursday was slow, but at lest steady. Fish started bitng aroung 6:30 for a good hour or so. I land one good brown on a lucky carft slender pointer. Around 27 inches long, just shy of 7 pounds. On the other hand, firday morning was one of the poorest days i have ever had. We tried all manner of hardbaits including single hooked countdowns in the C&R without a touch. I tried the jig, but I just can't seem to fish them effectively in this really high water. It seems like after 5 or 6 units, I can't feel them good enough to be confiedent in them, and I always kinda considered the jig to be my best technique. Anyway, caught one fish on friday from 8 to 12. We were not set up to drag fish or I would have broke out the red worms, or god forbid a jar of powerbait or old faithful can of corn. It was that bad.

I would call Gary Flippin at Rim Shoals. They rent boats and it is easy to navigate and fish successfully around Rim Shoals up past Cotter and Down to Buffalo City

I have a 9.9 johnson that has been converted to a 15. runs good and in good conditon. was asking $750, but would take $650 just to move it. I am in Mtn. home, but we could get it to you as long as not too far. let me know. -
would like to see taxi comment on this as well. I know he does many replicas of these white river fish

god what a fish. I too have only caught 3 or 4 browns on powerbait in my entire life and they were nothing to write home about. I do wish this fish could have swam away, but from what i have seen on these larger browns is they do not do well after having a long drawn out fight(which i presume was the case with 6# line being mentioned) in low oxygen water and hot weather conditions. I have put much smaller 7 to 10 pounders back only to watch them float belly up before they are out of sight. Note that these fish i mention were handled extremely carefully and we were quick about it too. I doubt either case applied in this situation, so a successful release would have been very marginal based on my experiance and the details provided. Bottom line is excellent catch and this helps qualify Taney as one of the few waters in the world that can even support this type of Brown trout. Even if is is a little mentally challenged for eating powerbait. What luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

July 6, 2008 High Water Fishing Report With Jerkbaits
cotterboy2007 replied to cotterboy2007's topic in White River
Was $10, but now i think it is $12 per. That is kinda pricey, but they last forever. He uses a special clearcoat that bends and does not chip. I would bet that my bait pictured has caught well over 100 fish. I have changed the hooks 3 or 4 times but it still shines in the water -
Although I really don't use jigs on this real high water on the White River, it seems like you Taney guys really have good luck with them. For you guys who have fished on both waters , how does four units on Taney compare to eight units on the White? Anyway, Here are a couple of good sites to order jigs. They are kinda pricey, but I think you can save a little by ordering a dozen or more at a time. Shops around here never have right color in the right size when you need them. I think the E jigs are a little better. The hook is slightly larger, they are tied a little thicker, and the colors are a little better. The Sculpin color is excellent. I also like that they make the 3/32 oz size. Sometimes a 1/16 won't get down, and a 1/8 is too heavy. http://zigjig.net/ http://www.ejigs.com/

July 6, 2008 High Water Fishing Report With Jerkbaits
cotterboy2007 replied to cotterboy2007's topic in White River
http://www.hughescustombaits.com/ I have not tried the stock lucky crafrt table rock color, but if i can find some locally, I will. I already have 5 or 6 other baits that are beat up or in unproductive colors, so getting them repainted is actually like recycling. at least that is what I tell the wife when she see them. -
Check my post from a few days back. It shows the bait and discusses how I fish it.

RPS, I didn't notice, but the small picture does kinda look like a rainbow, but it is a Brown. The picture taker did not have the flash on, so it is kinda dark out and I didn't edit it for brightness. If it would have been a rainbow, it would have been in capital letters in the heading for sure . I too have caught numerous browns up to 12#, but only one rainbow over 5 pounds, and that was like 16 years ago.

Check out this fish from Monday July 7 2008. What A football. I think it was proablay right at 25 inches long and my boga scales showed it weighing just shy of seven pounds The picture does not do justice to how thick these fish are right now. I believe this high water is just what these rivers needed. Nearly every fish I have caught this summer is fat and healthy looking. When the water comes down we may be amazed at the # of big fish we see. There is just very little fishing pressure right now as well. If you have been waiting to come fish this river, I suggest you get with one of the area outfitters/guides like Gary Flippin at Rim Shoals or Jamie Crownover at Hurst's Fishing Service and book a spin fishing trip while this water is high. Fishing is just excellent and many folks are avoiding the high water.
