  1. I don't watch much college ball so I'm not as smart as you guys, but today Maty Mauk sucks.
  2. Having fun in a tournament has nothing to do with them hanging onto the fish so long. Something that any other tournament director would be arrested for. I've got no respect for the director or the corporation that protects him. If it's not legal for you or I to do them it shouldn't be legal for Johnny Moneybags.
  3. Yep, just got it. She's hilarious.
  4. No she's to busy planning a Scentsy party. What are you doing that night Wrench?
  5. How can you become one of the best if you don't compete against the best?
  6. He told me he was going to pee in it.
  7. Yeah, why not be happy about it. It might be a stupid reason to get suspended, and if it is what they are saying it is then I really think it is stupid. But he knew the rule, broke it, and now has to live with that. Even though the rule is ignorant and the punishment for that is even worse. Seems he's made somebody mad.
  8. Let's just call it a tie.
  9. I can set my tripod up in just maybe 20 seconds. But I admit that some are more difficult. But it goes on all my fishing trips along with everything else.
  10. That's true Fly_Guy. But I'll also say that there is some good fishing close to the south shore. No need to head toward any thing to the west, plenty of water right there in front of you with usually less people.
  11. Interesting. I was a good kid that never caused any problems like that.
  12. Well this has peaked my interest so after a little research I found many different ways to make your own yeast. Most of the ones from fruit look exactly like this. I'm going to try it with the raisins first and go from there.
  13. Wow!
  14. Nice report on your blog as usual. I also like to ride in the front of that particular boat but that creek looks more like what I love.
  15. Agree 100%. And congrats on the win.
  16. Here's another little tip for those that don't want the hassle of making their own dough. If you have a Sam's near by that sells pizza in their deli buy some of their dough. It's really good stuff. Don't buy it from the frozen section in the store, buy it directly from the deli. Here you have to buy it by the case, it's either 20 or 24 balls, but it's only $20. And it's good. Probably 75% of the pizzas I do uses this dough. It's quick, easy and the kids absolutely love it. Let it thaw in the fridge for a day or two and it's ready to go. The dough balls are big too. Made 4 large pizzas out of two balls on Sunday.
  17. Exactly!!
  18. So do they roll it or send it through a machine? Which is it? Those machines are pretty cool, I'll admit that. But I like it stretched and tossed. One of these days maybe I'll be able to toss like a real pizza chef, but probably not. Ness, I always do a pre-bake. 2 minutes at the most on a pizza pan. Then add the toppings and it's back in for around 5 minutes directly on the rack. I should invest in a pizza stone but probably won't. An outdoor brick oven could be in my future though.
  19. It's one thing to be paid under the table. It's a whole other story when they tell you they are withholding taxes but spending that money on their own personal bullshit. Take a lesson from what used to be a small town boy but got sick of that ignorance. If you hire someone you treat them right. Period. It doesn't matter if it's Walmart or Joe's Worm Farm. Being a small town dumbass isn't an excuse.
  20. Probably wouldn't feel that way if you were one of the employees.
  21. You can't roll pizza dough!! What are you thinking man!!! I love hearing everyone's different methods. Most of mine are just cooked in the regular oven with the heat turned all the way up. Brick ovens are nice and do a great job but it is a pain just for home pizza. The Big Green Eggs work well but so does an insulated Weber. The hotter the better.
  22. Mongo like pudding.
  23. That's why they call it fishing!! I do agree that the fall bite is better on the lakes than in the rivers, but like has already been stated I think that comes from fish moving up from the depths of summer into areas that are easier to target them. Plus the water has cooled a bit so they have a little more energy to chase and eat. But it's not a guarantee either. Fall fishing can be some of the toughest fishing you will find. But I don't buy into the fact that in the winter months all the fish go deep. I have too many good days fishing shallow in the winter to ignore that water. You might not see them on your graph because they are sitting on the bank. One of the best days of fishing that I have ever had was one winter on Pomme de Terre. It was cold. 28 degrees when we launched, spitting sleet, surface temps steady all day at 44 degrees. We started fishing deep and caught a few fish. But it really got good when we were throwing spinnerbaits right up on the bank and burning them back to the boat. And this wasn't in one concentrated area. We caught fish all the way from Wheatland ramp to Bolivar landing. It was crazy good. Sidenote, maybe it's just the fish in that lake. I also caught a ton of fish one very hot summer day fishing the same pattern. Spinnerbait on the bank. Air temp was pushing the hundred mark and the surface temps were in the low 80's. Won that tournament by a substantial margin. We will never truly understand why a fish does what it does. And sometimes we get too hung up thinking they are going to be where we "know" they will be. That's when failure can set in and really punish you. Now I just go when I can, catch what I can and have a smile on my face every time.
  24. Yeah!! And the longer it sits the better it is.
  25. They are there, just a little more difficult to find and catch.
