  1. Here's a video of Cricket at work. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeDX6ESys10
  2. A jig has always been a great winter bait on Pomme. When I fished up there all of the time I always had a black jig tied on. The locations that Trav speaks of are always a good choice, but don't be afraid to fish some shallower water either. I've caught many nice fish in the winter tossing a jig right up on the bank. Not saying it's always going to work, but it's happened enough to make me realize that they are up there at times. Pomme is also an awesome spinnerbait lake this time of year. You might not catch a lot of fish throwing it but it will produce some bigger fish at times.
  3. But in all fairness Eric, you weren't exactly a trout fisherman before you joined OAF. Not picking on you buddy but unless that's the species you pursue you pay little attention to the areas where those fish are. Since you have joined you have picked up a fly rod and have enjoyed places like Crane. But Phil is right, Crane is talked about a lot on many different forums and in many different publications. It's about as big a secret as Table Rock Lake. Mic, don't let the stupidity get to you like it has to me and so many others. Please post your reports and the places you go, but like was said before you don't have to give specific locations. Ozark Anglers has changed over the years as most forums do, but we can keep this a friendly place. People keep saying that all the bickering has been going on because of winter, but if you are honest with yourself you will all realize that it has been going on a lot longer than that. I will be the first to admit that I made several mistakes and caused some problems of my own, but I also realize how much this forum has meant to me. It has given me the opportunity to meet and fish with some great fisherman when I was just getting started that really pushed me to where I am now. But do to the atmosphere you don't see them around so much anymore. We used to get some great info from a lot of the lake guides that I know many have benefited from. We also used to get a lot of reports from guys like Leonard, Jeremy Hunt, Michael Kyle and Duane Doty. What happened to all these guys? Yeah Duane has been posting again lately, but he has mostly been begging for some to calm down and talk about fishing. Besides he will be off to Alaska again soon and we won't here from him again until the fall. (unless a bear gets him) We have got to stop being so critical of everyone else. Just because you don't like the way somebody does something does not mean that you need to be an butt about it. Everyone has their own opinion about how things need to be done, if you feel you have a better way then post it and tell everybody why it works better for you. But don't start an argument over who is right. Take a look at the cell phone on the water thread, it's a perfect example. Guys were actually arguing over whether taking or not taking it was the right thing to do. Who cares, do what makes you happy and quit worrying about everyone else. As I have said before I owe a lot to what Phil, Dano and OAF have done for me. It has given me the opportunity to fish with some of the best fishermen in the world and learn many new techniques. It has also given me the opportunity to meet a whole new group of fishing buddies. And even though we have only known each other for a short period of time they feel more like brothers to me than just fishing buddies. You know who you guys are and I'll love ya till the day I die.
  4. Ok, I haven't said anything in a long time. Someone needs to have you checked. Why are you so angry?
  5. Now we all know that's a lie. We are not looking for anyone to be in awe of anything. We are just a bunch of guys that are really close and enjoy fishing together more than anything. Please excuse us if we want to share some of that enjoyment with you from time to time.
  6. It was a good time. Too bad you couldn't make it.
  7. That fly that cricket was chunking looks just like one of those goldens.
  8. That's an easy one to achieve. And a hell of a lot of fun too.
  9. Hang in there Wrench. You don't have a bunch of rich friends, but you do have a bunch of friends that would do whatever they can to help. You know where to find us.

Yeah, so? With that incident it only brought more attention and increased enforcement. My dad has several friends that live on the lake and they say it's safer now than it has been in years. As long as you stay on the Texas side. And who knows what happened in that incident. First they were NOT on the Texas side of the lake, they weren't even close. Just what where they doing over there on a jet ski?

I've fished Cuchillo in the past, but there is no way I would go there now. I thought it was violent when I went, but it's a lot worse now. Falcon is supposed to be safe as long as you stay on the Texas side. I think it's had a lot of attention since the jet ski incident and the added pressure has pushed the problems from the area. But you have to stay on the Texas side.
  12. darn OTF, I didn't figure that we would ever agree on anything.
  13. Gee Whiz John, I was only kidding. :=D::=D:
  14. Well that's perfect because all it really does is remind people what kind of a person you are.
  15. Apparently me!!
  16. Yeah, I had to lose it. I wanted to post some stuff and not look like a dumbass..........well not anymore than usual.
  17. Yes you are!
  18. I freaking hate it. It's the biggest form of disrespect that I have seen on this site, and there has been a lot of that lately. But that's fine, if Gotmuddy want to continue to act like an idiot, then who am I to stand in his way.
  19. Are these just the items you had handy when trying to make your comparison?
  20. All media is bullshit. It's about ratings and money, not what's right and wrong.
  21. Calm down Cricket. Been almost a year, I don't think it's gonna happen.
  22. Imagine that, you being blunt. Ted, the thing you have to do is capture your audience. It does not matter who you are, as long as it's well written.
  23. Okay, so what's the score here?
