  1. Yeah I still have to get my fix this weekend too. Just don't know where. I was thinking about RR on Saturday, even if the weather is horrible.
  2. Sorry, I'm laying low incase Chief and JD break out the guns. I love float tubes. Grew up fishing farm ponds in southern Oklahoma. I still think it's the best way to fish. I don't have one currently but I've been thinking about getting another this summer. I know that Wheatenhiemer just got one for Christmas so he should chime in. I do love the new designs. They are a lot better than the little donuts that we used to have.
  3. I can't believe you guys all chickened out! I do look forward to getting together with you guys at a later date.
  4. As long as there is no flood I will be there. I'm mentally ready to go, my equipment however is not! I gotta get my crap together. As far as the beer........I think I had to sign something when I bought my canoe that said I would never float without beer. State law, look it up. Looking forward to it guys.
  5. Not everyone wearing a pair of Simms waders is a jerk. Maybe you just bring out the best in people.
  6. Oh, way to go Duane. Tell everyone. Now Beeson is going to be down there splashing around and frying everything in sight. Yeah you should definately try the whites right now. Just stay down there around Beaver or the James. There are no whites north of Springfield.
  7. Yeah, what they said. GO, GO, GO.
  8. I wondered where you had been. It's unfortunate..............err, Great that you are back.
  9. Thanks Buzz but I'm sure it will work out. I'm going to strap it to the top of my car and head that way. I can't wait sounds like a good time.
  10. My wife and girls are going to be gone so I'm good to go. Except she is taking my canoe hauling vehicle. I either have to find someone come along or strap that baby to the top of my Taurus. I'm sure my boss would love seeing a canoe strapped to the top of my company car, but sometimes you have to make some sacrifices.
  11. Don I think you are stuttering again. How much have you had to drink? Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. I may be 40 but I still only feel about 12 in my mind!
  12. March 28th, dont care where. I know that's a little soon but I'm floating somewhere that day, just haven't decided where.
  13. www.missourimuskies.org This is the website for the Pomme de Terre Chapter of Muskies, Inc. Looks like lots of great information.
  14. You can't say that I will have my wish when you don't know what my wishes are. By the way, I didn't dismiss him, I just don't like him. The only thing I offered is if you are going to join a group or an organization then you need to make sure that the leader is qualified to lead. And no, being a "very qualified outdoorsman" is not a qualification. I know lots of people that are better than me at fishing, but that doesn't make them qualified. Larry may be fine for this, I don't know. I just don't like the way that he aired his dirty laundry with the News Leader as part of his recruiting. And no, I don't work for the News Leader, I don't buy it and I don't read it. To me it seemed very childish of him to do that. But I have had that opinion of him before. What really baffles me is that you agree with him but still won't join his group. Where does this increased scrutiny from the MDC come from. I guess if you are doing no wrong then you have absolutely nothing to worry about. I don't. Again, I'm not saying it's a bad idea, I'm just not sure I want to be part of his tactics. So go ahead, sign up.
  15. That depends on who is leading the forum. If it's an idiot then don't expect much. You have to have great leadership to do great things.
  16. Rotary vises are very helpful for me. If you don't have a lot to spend look at a Griffin Spider. They sell for around $75 and would be a huge improvement from what you have now.
  17. I like RIO better than I did the SA GPX. But I love SA Sharkskin. Yeah it costs more but it's great.
  18. Terry does have a good plan. Just keep your options open and keep watching the forum. You never know where the best area is going to be. And by having the whole weekend you will probably be able to hit several different spots if you have to.
  19. My advice? Take me with you! Sounds like a great time.
  20. Nice report Brian, and great pictures.
  21. Well I'm late as usual, but Happy Birthday! Sounds like you had a great day.
  22. Now I remember why I want a fish-eye lens. Those are nice.
  23. Happy Birthday Terry. I hope you had a good day.
  24. Happy Birthday!
  25. Good luck Trav. I'll be interested in hearing your report. I haven't fished Toledo Bend or Sam Rayburn, but I've always wanted to. I've done the Fork thing a bunch and Falcon a couple of times. Falcon would be hard for me to pass up right now, but it is a drive. But it's nice to get out of the Ozarks and fish other areas. I'm headed to Falcon this fall with my dad and probably some buddies. We might even head over into Mexico and hit one of the hot lakes over there. That's what so great about that area, you have a several other options if you can't get bit on one lake.
