  1. Well if you didn't tell everybody that you were going with MrDucky you might have got some response. By the way, what do two ducks do in the water after dark I'm getting ready to leave for Vacation, but when I get back we gotta get together and go one night.
  2. Welcome to the forum Graham. Glad you joined.
  3. I haven't thought of Galmey in years. Used to catch a lot of fish in there on floating worms. I gotta get back up there.
  4. Oh sure, you didn't yellow flag her. There is some favortism going on here.
  5. See this is where the problem starts. When they turn 13 they are no longer allowed to wear clothes from Target or such. I'm pretty sure it's a state law. It has to be name brand and it has to come from a mall. P.S. Don't ever agree to take your teenage daughter shopping at the mall by yourself. You ever see those guys that look like someone has left them for dead on one of those benches? It can happen to you.
  6. John, it seemed that they liked olive the best. Keep in mind that I covered a lot of water today. Spent maybe 5 to 10 minutes per pool and if I didn't get any lookers I moved on. Fishing the white water right at the head of the pools is the best bet. Good luck. Might come down Friday afternoon for a couple hours. If you see a large guy in an orange OAF hat with a little girl tagging along, that would be me.
  7. Decided to go smallie fishing today. Saw some places last week in my travels that I wanted to try down close to Cassville. Ended up at Roaring River. Oh well I can go smallie fishing later. Parked by the cleaning station (is there more than one? right by the park entrance) and fished all the way to the hatchery and back. Lots of good fish in the water right now. Fished my way to the hatchery with a pine squirrel. On the way back I caught 2 on a black zebra and 3 on a ginger wooly. But I couldn't resist. I put the pine squirrel back on and ended up catching 19 in all. I caught very few fish under 15". Most were 15" to 16" and very fat. Finally gave that new rod a good workout.
  8. Got it covered. Had the great idea of driving home through the night a couple of years ago. Sounded like a good idea at the time. Kids would sleep, nobody needing to go to the restroom every 5 minutes, no whining. It was all fine and dandy until about 4:30 in the morning around Jonesboro. I wasn't sleepy, too much coffee to be sleepy, but it was just really weird driving all night with the radio off.
  9. I'm only about 6 months into this teenage girl stuff and apparently my advice sucks. It's different to say the least. But she's a good kid and has really good friends. I'm pretty sure dating is going to push me over the edge.
  10. You haven't been flyfishing for smallmouth yet? Is that possible? Who else hasn't been smallie fishing? If I can make it, I'm in on this perch jerking thing. I love catching them.
  11. I also have been banned from fishing on the "Real Vacation" we take every year. It's hard to set at the beach and watch those boats going out every morning. But we do have a good time. Leaving next Friday. 13 hours in a car with 4 women. You gotta love it.
  12. Congratulations to everyone that is having a baby. You guys have been busy.
  13. Tonight, right before all those girls went to bed, I gave Tiffani my Eagle Claw rod with a Medalist reel. I couldn't resist after seeing Rusty's daughter with one. Of course I have agreed to give our 13 year old her own cell phone. That will probably hurt. I have really been against kids having cell phones. But with all the activities that she is involved in I want to be able to talk to her if we need to. And more importantly I want to make sure that she is able to call us if she needs anything. Both are already bugging me to take them on an overnight float this summer. I guess girls are okay. If you are gonna live in my house you better be able to fish, and these girls can. My other is only 3 so she can slide by for at least another year. And I guess I'll keep their mother around since she's so purty cause she sure as hell can't fish.
  14. Well I haven't posted about my experience on kids day. I have never seen so many people trying to fish in my life. Kids climbing on rocks in front of my daughter while she tried to fish. People from the other end of the pool casting at my feet. Chummers, I saw a couple MDC guys having a very stern conversation with one of these guys. Stood next to a guy that was trying to teach his son how to snag a fish. He was a real winner. Stood in line for 30 minutes to get a hot dog and the 1/4 mile line moved about twenty feet, went to McDonald's. Got to the t-shirt line too late, no more t-shirts. All the time dragging a very disappointed 8 yr old along. We finally caught her a few fish. One up with all the crazies, it was a nice fish for her, 17 inches. And she landed a couple farther down in the park on a flyrod. We finally gave up and went to Flat creek in search of some crawdads and rocks. She had a great day and I really enjoyed the time we spent together. But we have both agreed to pass on the next Kids day and go on a float trip instead. By the way, Tiffani gave up a day at Silver Dollar City to spend it with her dad fishing. She is one of the best fishing buddies I have ever had.
  15. The advice has always been great, just giving you a hard time. Still haven't landed a fish on that A2 you sold me, but my 8 yr old daughter has!! Man that's a sweet casting rod, I love it.
  16. I feel like you are daring me to come into your shop and spend a $100 on fluoro.
  17. Gee Dano, you sound like my canoe buddy.
  18. Here is a link to the article. Missouri Game & Fish
  19. Well the world hates me again. I can't go Friday. I bet I can go the next Friday though .
  20. Well I may have to catch up with you next Friday. Let me know where you decide to go.
  21. I can't believe you are going fishing on a Friday!! Some of us have to work. This is the first week in a long time that I haven't fished at least a couple of hours during the week. I have had to drive to KC, Tulsa (just got home) and Lake of the Ozarks tomorrow. Your constant nagging about how YOU are going fishing Friday is really getting old. Good luck, I hope you catch a 100, and may the Generation Genie grant you a 1 unit day. Word of advice; If MrDucky is down there be sure to stand upwind. You'll thank me later.
  22. Toby, thank you for putting together such a wonderful event. I also want to thank Steve & Bryce, you guys are great. If you have never been to the Beaver Dam Store, go, it's quite entertaining. Duckydoty, MrDucky & rflippen, thanks. I know we didn't win, but I had a great time fishing with you guys. You guys are welcome to fish with me anytime. The Beaver Tailwaters were beautiful. It was different, but I liked it. We live in a great place that we have so much different water to choose from.
  23. Dano, you won't be so glad after you meet him. He will be with me at the Benefit Tournament. Flipper is a good guy, I've known him for close to 20 years. I can't believe that you didn't choose Flipper for you name.
