  1. Ducky I hope you're not dropping all those ashes in the water! You got an ash tray in that vest? Those are some great fish. Let me know when it's my turn. I gotta get down there.
  2. Have you made ME sea horses yet??? Congrats Leonard, she's a beautiful little girl. Just remember, they don't stay that way for long.
  3. Rusty, I was thinking about bringing my 8 year old daughter, but the wfie won't let me take her out of school. She's missed a couple of days a week or so ago when she was sick. We should try to get them together sometime. Then we could fish.
  4. Well I wasn't planning on it, but I will be there. I've been wanting to get back to RR for some time now. Plus I can take a much needed day off!! Steve, I would be happy to bring anything to help. Just let me know.
  5. I feel that was directed at me. I already have a new winter boat project. It's the canoe that I was going to have done by now. Still not even close. But I'm close to starting on it again, maybe even this weekend. Woodman I would love to see some of your work some time.
  6. I used to fish it several years ago. Looks like they are struggling to get some boats in it. I know that 100 boats seems like a lot, but the last time I fished it we were boat 307, or something like that. Talk about having some time to kill, it takes a long time to watch 300 boats go out in front of you. They did put on a good tournament, lot's of fun and good prizes. Good luck.
  7. This is all you need!!! Well maybe some of that other stuff too, but this worm works. Been having some luck with a black and gold color too. You will know when they hit it. They can be tied/fished unweighted like a soft jerkbait, unweighted with a split shot on the leader (think carolina rig) or weighted and drug along the bottom.

    Mexican Villa

I'll have to agree with Terry about Maria's, that's some good stuff. I love Mexican food but none of it even compares after you make a trip into Mexico. And I don't mean the tourist areas either. You gotta get down there where nobody speaks english and nobody in your party speaks spanish. Don't know exactly what I was eating most of the time but it was great.
  9. I can't help myself, I have to comment on MrDucky's new avatar. If you haven't noticed it you gotta see it. I guess what's so funny about it is that it totally reminds me of him. I have actually seen him walk this way too. It's usually after his 14th hot dog that he has begged from Steve! He comes running when Steve says they are ready and then he usually crawls away looking like that bear.
  10. Call me when the burgers are done!! Welcome to the forum.
  11. You going to be down this weekend John? I was wanting to head over to Taney to fish with Don, but I've been traveling so much this week and I have an 8 year old that thinks she needs to catch a trout.
  12. Well I hate to ruin a good time for everyone, but I'm going to be there!! Hey Rusty, can you bring me some more flies?
  13. Well crap ducky I wish I had more notice. I can't do it tonight, but I bet somebody is going to be down there. I just took a promotion about a month ago and it's kept me away from home and off the water. Starting to get a little leveled out now, so maybe in a couple of weeks. Besides my waders are still leaking and getting worse. I gotta get some new ones but the kids are putting me in the poor house. When I can get away I'll give you a holler.
  14. I might be able to make it down some where in that time frame. You need to see how easy that worm is to tie. I bought some new material at Backcountry Outfitters that I have been tying the up with. It seems to work great and the colors choices are a little better. (Hey Michael did you ever get any purple?). Maybe we need to get together and go smallie fishing? I went back in July to the Gasconade and lost the first 3 worms that I tied on. It wasn't because they got hung up either. I was using a lighter than normal tippet and the fish hit them so hard it just broke. Ended up pulling some 8lb. test off my spinning reel and using it. Then I could land a few. These worms were gold in color. And they are so easy to tie. I'm gonna check my calendar and with the wife and see if I can make it down there. And if there is a dead bird or two involved I might be able to find us something to wash it down with.
  15. How about you just meet me somewhere to fish and bring me that fly. And while you are at it, load up that big green egg and cook up some of those chickens again. I think that's the least you can do for not following directions.
  16. I think I can take ya after you have a couple of cups of that special coffee. I gotta get down there and beg you to take me. Guy's, I don't know Leonard all that well, but I have stood side by side with him using the same fly that he was using, casting it in the exact same spot, and I could catch 1 to about every 8 to 10 of his. I also learned more in those couple of times that we fished, than I had figured out on my own in the past 5 years.
  17. College??? Wow!! I was 8. But I remember my mom and sister crying about it in the car.
  18. Wow, I haven't had a chance to fish it in awhile, but this is how I like it. Gonna have to get back to town and whip out a secret weapon on those smallies. There won't be much stealth to my approach, pretty much impossible, but I'm sure I can get some takers.
  19. John, Mine are in the mail. Sorry about the delay, but welcome to my world! Don't worry Don I didn't make any bass flies, I have however caught a few bass on the fly I tied. And I've caught a few trouts on it too. Well now I'm getting on a plane to North Carolina to spend the next 4 days in a conference room. That will be a blast. I have a hard time sitting still. Well at least there is an Orvis store right down the road from the hotel. I've never been inside of it, but it looks like they have more clothes than fishing stuff. Oh well, when you need a fishing fix in NC, that might be my only option. Somebody go catch a fish and give it a kiss for me. Ronnie
  20. Now there's a source of income until the end of October. Roadside Possum Stand. I'm sure that would go over well in Nixa!!!
  21. John, Just realized that I had forgot all about this swap. Still unsure what I'm going to tie as well. I will have them in the mail either Friday or Saturday. I apologize to everyone for the delay. And since I'm having a hard time deciding on a fly, don't complain if it's a bass fly. I love to make these, and I feel that you guys should be fly fishing for bass a little more. You want to get away from the crowds and have a lot of fun? This is the way to do it.
  22. Terry, I'm happy to hear that everything is moving in a positive direction. I feel that after Sisters of Mercy Health Systems finds out what a valuable assest you are, they will find a way to keep you around. It will be hard to wait until the end of October, but that will give you the time to focus on your studies and get used to the student life once again. I realized the other day that I had promised you some smallie flies that I never delivered on, sorry about that. I have been recently promoted and it has turned my world upside down. I went from having 3 guys work directly for me to over 50. What a difference that made!! I am working on the flies. I have been working to rebuild my stock for some fall smallie action and have started a pile for you. I may not let you have them unless you meet me at the river to try them out though!! Ronnie
  23. It seems that some of the links do not work on certain pages. I was able to go to the "Float Trips" page from the main page, but that same link did not work on other pages. Other than that it looks great.
  24. Now that's an offer you shouldn't pass up. Duckydoty is a great guy to fish with and makes it a lot of fun. Welcome to the forum.
  25. Well since everybody brought up the Scott A2, I gotta say that it's a sweet rod. I had cast a Launch and loved it. Then I went in to Backcountry Outfitters and Michael talked me into spending the extra money to get the A2. I bought it without ever casting it. But when I did, it was unbelievable the difference it made. Now I'm no Michael Kyle when it comes to casting, but it has made a big, big difference. I would opt for a cheaper reel and get an A2, it's worth every penny. Keep those checks coming Michael.
