  1. For sure! Is that grill attached to that table?
  2. Yep that's the exact section I'm talking about. And don't let the holiday weekend fool you. It's that way every weekend. Just plain dangerous and those fools don't give two shits about canoers. Had one of our guys get hit twice by a jet on one weekend. Both were minor bumps but one almost swamped him and that one was a law enforcement boat. Beautiful place but I don't miss it.
  3. Welcome! Don't give up on Pomme. It should be getting good there soon.
  4. Yep. That's part of the reason I go camping.
  5. I don't have much faith in the LEO in this area ever finding them. Hopefully I will be surprised.

  7. Oh was I talking about something else? You are just not picking up what I'm laying down. It's all good though, I've grown rather bored with this topic anyways.
  8. I never said that a boat runs on free gas. I used to fish out of a bass boat all the time so I know that it gets expensive, probably more than the 30 to 40 bucks that you said. But most of the people in canoes out there have dropped 40 bucks on a canoe rental and there are a lot more canoes out there. But I'm not against the fisherman like you Seth. Most of the time they are very courteous. The ones that drive me crazy are the pleasure jetters that just run back and forth up and down the river. I guess they are having fun but it looks boring as hell to me. But guess what, I just don't float where a lot of jet boats will be. I love the Gasconade but there is a lot of water above jet territory. And I absolutely refuse to ever go on the Current again. That's the only place that I have ever had a real problem with jets.
  9. Wow that looks good. Maybe I need to start dove hunting again.
  10. I blame the city of Springfield as much as anyone. There would be plenty of fishing opportunities around town if they made them accessible. Fellows has the most room for the bank fisherman but it's often inaccessible because of the brush that lines the bank. I'm not talking about brush in the water, this brush is right at the waters edge making fishing in front of it impossible. So you have to look for holes. And those holes are usually full and over fished. Cut the brush and move it into the water to offer better fishing opportunities. Springfield Lake is close to the same. There is one long area of the north shore that is a great spot to fish but again it's almost impossible because of the brush between the walking path and the water. They spent tons of money on the walking path but zero on fishing opportunities. Plus there are numerous parks with wonderful fishing opportunities that have been closed to fishing. They seem to think that throwing in some fishing docks on a few of the lakes is all the opportunity you need. They are way more interested in making sure that a man can use a women's restroom than offering decent outdoor activities for the people of Springfield.
  11. This is where I think you guys are wrong. There are too many canoe outfitters out there putting thousands of canoes on the rivers almost everyday in the summer. The floaters buy gas, food, drinks, etc. And the outfitters buy gas, pay property taxes, shuttle vehicles, land, income, employment taxes, the purchase of new canoes and rafts. That one time tax on a 20K is nothing compared to what the outfitters are paying year after year.
  12. I've always liked the Seahawks. But I can say that about most NFL teams, including GB. But I'd like to see the hawks win this one.
  13. Or market as a regular tying base. They are pretty cool. How much?
  14. Most of the Brown Derby's have it. Some of the Price Cutters.
  15. So what's the point of the study if the outcome is going to be more regulations that will never be enforced? The problem is right there slapping you in the face. I'm not convinced of that. There are no hunting seasons going on during the summer but I rarely see an agent. Back when I fished a lot of tournaments I was checked by agents at night on Table Rock and there were always 2 agents in the boat. One of those times it was almost 2am. I'm not buying the difficult to patrol story. If they want to make a difference they can.
  16. I could see that. Still doesn't make it right. Sorry if that's what you meant Jerry. But I would say if that's the case it's really flawed because floaters would spend way more money in a years time than the jet boaters could. Just look at the number of outfitters that profit off floating. And liquor stores.
  17. So your perspective is those that spend the most get the most benefits? I bet when me and my buddies go floating we spend as much as any jet boater. Yeah we didn't spend as much on our boats but who cares. I guess we should close LOZ and Table Rock to fishing since the party boaters spend more on their boats? Is I44 going to be closed to just those driving expensive cars and trucks? Your perspective is flawed.
  18. Lots of better beers that can be drank for quantity. Id choose Coors over Bud any day. Bud just gives me a bad headache. But I'd much rather have a quality IPA. 400 Pound Monkey being one of my favorites.
  19. I can agree with that. With so many options out there I never understand why this one is so popular.
  20. Yeah you bunch of pussies! Strange marketing technique, let's see how it works.

    Nfl Draft

That's sad. Not about Sam, but about Dallas. I don't think that can be fixed. Well it can, he's just not going to.
  22. Oh really I didn't realize that. Glad you are here to point out the obvious. You really should consider politics. You would be perfect for it.
  23. It's so fun when you come on here and make an butt out of yourself.
