But in all fairness Eric, you weren't exactly a trout fisherman before you joined OAF. Not picking on you buddy but unless that's the species you pursue you pay little attention to the areas where those fish are. Since you have joined you have picked up a fly rod and have enjoyed places like Crane. But Phil is right, Crane is talked about a lot on many different forums and in many different publications. It's about as big a secret as Table Rock Lake.
Mic, don't let the stupidity get to you like it has to me and so many others. Please post your reports and the places you go, but like was said before you don't have to give specific locations.
Ozark Anglers has changed over the years as most forums do, but we can keep this a friendly place. People keep saying that all the bickering has been going on because of winter, but if you are honest with yourself you will all realize that it has been going on a lot longer than that. I will be the first to admit that I made several mistakes and caused some problems of my own, but I also realize how much this forum has meant to me. It has given me the opportunity to meet and fish with some great fisherman when I was just getting started that really pushed me to where I am now. But do to the atmosphere you don't see them around so much anymore. We used to get some great info from a lot of the lake guides that I know many have benefited from. We also used to get a lot of reports from guys like Leonard, Jeremy Hunt, Michael Kyle and Duane Doty. What happened to all these guys? Yeah Duane has been posting again lately, but he has mostly been begging for some to calm down and talk about fishing. Besides he will be off to Alaska again soon and we won't here from him again until the fall. (unless a bear gets him)
We have got to stop being so critical of everyone else. Just because you don't like the way somebody does something does not mean that you need to be an butt about it. Everyone has their own opinion about how things need to be done, if you feel you have a better way then post it and tell everybody why it works better for you. But don't start an argument over who is right. Take a look at the cell phone on the water thread, it's a perfect example. Guys were actually arguing over whether taking or not taking it was the right thing to do. Who cares, do what makes you happy and quit worrying about everyone else.
As I have said before I owe a lot to what Phil, Dano and OAF have done for me. It has given me the opportunity to fish with some of the best fishermen in the world and learn many new techniques. It has also given me the opportunity to meet a whole new group of fishing buddies. And even though we have only known each other for a short period of time they feel more like brothers to me than just fishing buddies. You know who you guys are and I'll love ya till the day I die.
