They usually only give you the predictions a day or 2 ahead of time. Makes it tough to plan a fishing trip a week in advance if your fishing depends on no generation.
Did you hunt on the Fort or just near it? The latest report that I have received about the hogs is that a 350 lb russian boar was killed during deer season by Stockton.
Your already in trouble because Capps and Crane is West of Taney...
Mohair leeches, slumpbusters and wooley buggers would be good streamer flies to fish at night. Fish below outlet one on the flats between outlet one and two. If the temps are going to be really cold either use alot of Ice-Off on your eyelets or consider fishing with a lighted indicator. The BFE's will work good under a lighted indicator and larger sow bugs and scuds should work also. Larger meaning in the 10- 14 size range. Greys and Tans. Becareful wading around after dark if you are not all that familiar with the area. Lots of submerged trees and chunk rock scattered thoughout the area. You dont want to trip up and end up swimming. Bring some white colored streamers incase a shad kill starts to happen.
Good luck
We are starting to loose alot of trees over here in Branson West. Still have power as of now. Had to turn the heat pump off and dump hot water on it to thaw out the fan blades because they were getting froze up and way off balance.
No pictures. It is all black with a synthetic stock. Breaks at the breech for cleaning. Has a cleaning kit, bore butter, wrenches for cleaning. speed tubes, extra primers and enough powder pellets and bullets for about 10 shots. Every thing you need to shoot, clean, and care for is there.
When you get ready to fish, give me a holler. I'd be happy to take a little time and show you some spots on the water. I will be fishing with a fly rod if thats ok

I also like the Albright knot, just be very careful in tying it to make sure it is absolutely perfect or it will fail.
A good way to prevent that is to follow the Albright with a uni.
I have a 50 cal. CVA Wolf muzzle loader with low end buschnell scope and all possibles that I'm looking to get rid of. Will meet in the Springfield or Branson area to deliver.
$100.00 is all it takes to get it.
Today was the last day of duck season in Missouri so Michael Kyle, Eric and I tried to get one last cast and blast in till next season. We saw lots of ducks but only got 2 in close enough to shoot. Despite the cold temps, the fishing was good. Green soft hackles stripped real fast up by the boat ramp produced well all the way down past KOA. In the back slough there by Point Royal the green soft hackles tore them up but they had to be fished real slow. Just a strip and let it sit. Had to watch the line for the kinks to start to straighten out in order to tell if a fish was taking the fly. Caught about 10 fish in 30 minutes back there. Lots of ice problems but overall a great day on the water.
I'd be more than happy to have a partner in this adventure. I've been researching the Piney Creek Wilderness area and think the Siloam Springs Hollow area might be good also. Have to wait till Monday to call the National Forest office and the MDC regional office for that area to see if there have been any reports lately in that area.
My brother has hunted ferrel hogs before and accourding to him they hide better than rabbits and hold a lot tighter than rabbits. Most of the time you will walk right by them and not even know it. He said they would litterally have to jump up and down on log piles for 10 minutes before the hog would flush out.
If you have found sign in the Glad Top area, we might need to go over there. A group of 3 or 4 people might be an advantage also. Better chances of flushing one. The Big Creek drainage is supposed to harbor hogs also. Any public access that you know of in that area?
Accourding to the MDC the hogs have an established population in Stone and Barry County between Shell Knob and Cape Fair on Forrest Service lands around Piney Creek, Wolley Creek and Flat Creek drainages. There is also an established population that has been seen between Table Rock Lake and Hwy 86. Taney County has a reported population between Hercules and Fairview on Forest Service land in the Big Creek Drainage.
Anybody see any sign of hogs in these areas lately? Anybody have any prospective ideas on where to incounter some hogs on public land in these areas?
