  1. Try getting in touch with this guy. His name is Steve Clark and he has done quite a bit of refurbishing older rods. Midwest custom flyrods
  2. Check with T. Hargroves in STL. They might be able to help
  3. AK Guide is absolutely right, but your chances of catching a 10 lb bow in this area are better than just about anywhere in the world. Welcome to the forum AK Guide
  4. DD, take another look at single cabin rentals at Big Cedar for any month July thru Sept. Lowest price for the week is $2,796.00 for 5 days and 6 nights. Not including a sir-charge and tax. That is another 300 clams. About 3 grand a week for a cabin at BC during the summer. We are about $1,500 for a week at the lodge here, in our two bedroom suite. Indian Hills and he Villege are somewhere inbetween. Your are correct Bill. My price quote was on a cottage, not a cabin. Here are all of their rates accourding to their website. BC Rates here
  5. Ditto, Dano!
  6. Big Cedar lodge summer rates for cheapest one room cabin averages about $200/night. full day boat guide service on Taney or Table Rock $325/day Meals in Branson $50.00/day $575/day for Branson fishing vacation $3450 for 6 days 6 nights in Branson, with no bears
  7. You can carry heat next year!
  8. I do not have much experience with using a trolling motor on Taney, but the water there is usually pretty warm compared to other bodies of water this time of year. I have never seen Taney froze over. I think that the warmer water should keep the trolling motor from freezing even on the coldest days, but I could be wrong.
  9. I think you will enjoy them if that is the route you decide to go. I really like the 3 pair I have. Good luck on your waders.
  10. I'll be sneaking out when Santa is at work...
  11. My Simms have gone 2 and 3 years before sprining a leak. You got to remember that I put them on over 200 times per year and they very rarely get to dry out. I think they have a limited lifetime warrenty, maybe Michael can chime in on that and give a true and accurate answer on the warrenty for us. I personally think they are worth the extra money but that is just an opinion. It might be biased.... There are some Simms waders that are not that much more than the Cabellas or BPS brands. L2 use to be one of them. I have yet to have a problem with seams leaking. Pin holes in the fabric from wear, use and abuse are what gets me.
  12. Just teasing you Michael
  13. $300 for lodging $2000 for 4 flyouts $200 for meals $2500 total You still need rental car to get to town for meals if house is not located in town, or to get to the float plane charters You still need to rent a boat for fishing the river system a couple of days. And with the way you like to have a few evening cocktails.....could get real expensive...... Oh yeah, Dont forget the $39.00 can of pepper spray
  14. I wear Simms waders and wear them alot. They all eventually leak. One thing I like about the Simms is that if you turn them inside out and wipe rubbing alcohol on them, dark grey spots will show up where you have leaks. All you have to do is mark them with a marker, wait till the alcohol dries then coat the spots with aqua seal. Seam leaks in warranty covered waders are usually covered by the manufacturer, but pin hole leaks in the fabric are not. Those are just something that happens with time and wear.
  15. If tomorrow is this weekend, I'll be fishing Taney.
  16. I really like the big streamers at night daytime I like the soft hackles in shallow water. I also like to sight fish without the indicator using sowbugs. I also like Czech nymphing in faster water. I also like dry flies. Heck I think I just like fishing!
  17. Cant wait to see it Ronnie
  18. The extremely crooked creek that feeds in across from Crystal Creek Lodge is Big Creek. That is where most of the Kings are found and I think Phil has a video of boating up that little creek in a jet boat. Lots of exciting bends and turns there. You can catch greyling, dolly varden, chum, pinks, sockeye, kings, rainbows and probably even silvers up Big Creek. Here is Crystal Creeks rates 6 days guided activities 7 nights accommodations $7,850 June/July $8,350 August/September
  19. 2005 pricing at Rainbow Bend for a week in cabins on the Naknek river and a hired daily guide at 2005 rates would have cost $2635 per week and that does not include any meals. Add about $100 per day to eat at Kinko's or Eddies brings up to $3235 per week. Factor in getting to eat at a nice dinning lodge and a little for the cost increases over the past 4 years and $3900 is sounding like a pretty good deal. Deduct $300 for the fly out that I requested from the original $4200 I stated and you get the $3900. Now you asked for what would sound like a good deal and that sounds pretty good to me. It is not the cheapest thing in the area but also not the roughest trip you can take either. The more comforts the more the price should go up. One of the highest end Lodges in the area is $8700 per person per week. That they are top notch with 5 star restraunt and flyouts every day. That is too much for my blood but definately a nice place to stay and a great trip. Most of us laymen can not afford a place like that but most of us would be willing to pay a little more than $2500 per week if it meant being comfortable, feeling safe, and eating good. Just my thoughts and where I came up with numbers from duckydoty
  20. Sounds like a great pattern to add to the collection!
  21. Cool, I'll get to test them out!
  22. I thought you might be tying the H U H secret fly
