I dont have any problems with trot line, limb line or jug fishing . If you decide to fish like this please follow regulations .There are abandoned jugs and lines all over the lake. After a couple of days it is trash. Old limb lines can be dangerous to wild life. I have seen more than once a blue heron that has flown into a dangling line and become hooked only to struggle to death. As the lake levels fluctuate some of these lines are left at just about face level if you are standing on the deck of a fishing boat. Many of these lines are nylon with a galvanized 6/0 hook, never to decompose. This became such a problem on other small lakes that it has been banned in many states.I have also seen trophy bass dead on a trot line half eaten by turtles, what a shame . Please be responsible ,Irespect everyones right to take a fish .Old lines are always cut when I encounter them. ,

Champ, check the Garmin support website there are updates you can download, maybe the fix is in the software.

should be a real nice day for a boat ride. With the smaller crowds you can get to a spot during the day that may not have been fished for a few days .I have caught some of my biggest fish this time of year. Shad pattern cranks in the trees near deeper water, crawdad in the backs of coves shallow. Tandem willow leaf spinners if its windy and dark sky. Slow down if its bright and sunny 3/4 oz pbj still good on gravel points.,Good luck ,let us know how you do

if anyone has apic of a meanmouth please post. I guess I have never seen one.
-
I am not really sure but that might be a mean mouth, a cross between a smallie and a spot . some of the other guys on here would know for sure. Thanks for posting pics ,always enjoy seeing pics of hogs before they are released. great job landing a true lunker.

make sure your transducer is pointed down properly.look at the water line on your boat and adjust it parrelel to that drop a large spoon in deeper water ,you should be able to see it on the way to the bottom ,it will appear to be going at an angle jig it up and down you should see it zig zag. experiment with your sensitivity and you shuold be able to see a drop shot rig both sinker and worm.set your ping speed high seems to help me. go to lowrance website they have a simulator and a program you can download to watch files that you can record while on the lake you can also tweek settings with that program .Im no pro but i can tell you that when you get it right its cool to show your friends a fish moving over to grab your lure. dont give up it really does work.

I actually lived through this a few years ago. Had her blessing to go fishin one evening, came home to a locked house ,would not let me in. Turned around and went right back to the lake . When i got home later that day the house was trashed her stuff was gone. Glad I had all my tackle with me. Come to think of it my dog never liked her anyway. My wife doesnt fish but she understands even encourages me to go when Im a little stressed or grumpy.I hope she never changes, lord knows i will always fish .Always have always will

The guy in the video does not know how to operate a bass boat.should have trimmed the motor down before he hit that first wake.wasnt wearing a life vest .Checked the MO waterpatrol website archives Did not see a report of two bass boats colliding at night . Collisions are a reality and everyone thinks fast bass boats are the culprits.Read the reports you will see that most wrecks are PWCs or pleasure craft.[weekend warriors] Most bass fishermen are experienced enough to operate a boat safely . I know I dont want to wreck my rig on the way to my honey hole.Common sense always rules the day[or night]

I normally dont get involved with the type of discussions but I have to agree with Wackem, my boat will not stay on plane at 30mph. 36 is about the slowest I can go.If ozark gunner would like to report me to the MAN I will post my registration numbers here ,let me know .IF some on hits mewhen I am fishing with my lights off at night it would be a heck of good piece of driving to avoid all the standing timber that is all around the boat in the back of a shallow cove. I wonder why a guy would buy a piece of German overpriced junk and never go 1mph over the speed limit. Im betting hypocrite here.If your not a cop you should be one because we need more people like you to tell us all what is right and wrong.JUst because a guy has a fast boat does not make him an idiot. Fishing is one of the passions in my life and I am fortunate enough at this point of my life to be able to afford a nice ,expensive ,FAST boat.I did not see an idiot line at the dealer where they were giving boats away.Be careful out there wackem, the Man might get you on the to the way to the scales. dont let this jerk get under your skin he is typical of the kind of child that hides behind the shield of the internet.Even his tag says something about his personality.

11lbs + !!!!! These two young men were fishing in Little Sugar Creek near Pea Ridge AR. The guy with the Texas shirt has worked for me for a couple of years now , I believe the story completely . Both credit the other for the catch saying it was a tag team effort. Way to go guys, now you are ruined for life.My guess is ,with all the high water the past couple of years she escaped a pond getting stuck in the creek.

I am at the intersection of KK and rt 90.upstream from Cyclone. The offer for a cleanup day is very kind,I could have used you guys after I bought the place.I will never understand why people can go to the great outdoors and then leave trash behind.Other than the old tires that surface after a flood I have got it under control. If any volunteer cleanup can be done lets do it on the lake. They put a large dumpster at Eagle Rock last year and it was full. I quit fishing Beaver because of the trash,I was pitching up in the junk to catch fish and just couldnt stand it any more . Table Rock is one of the most beautiful lakes I have ever seen .Lets report poachers and people littering The MDC guys need your help. b&w pic in winter those rocks are as big as a truck.

I own a large parcel of land in Mc Donald Co., Big Sugar creek runs right through the middle of it .I have a huge problem with trespassers trashing our place. When I see people keeping fish out of season ,I inform them and then I am subsequently threatened, cussed at and even had rocks thrown at me.Mostof the time they are floaters coming from some canoe camp. Called MDC on some of the worst offenders but I dont know what the results were.I dont know if these people are just ignorant or dont care but I get the same answer from most of them "we always done that,we live around here"With the water being up this spring should be a lot of knot heads getting caught at the take out. If you are a creek fisherman get a hold of me , I can grant access
-
Excellent job by MDC busted some real knuckleheads with a whole truck full of paddlefish. I saw the story in the Barry Co. Advertiser. Not many details but there is one pic. I hope these jerks get the max allowed by law If any one has any more detals please post. Thanks.

zander, lets see what you've got , maybe you can get your work on all the best rigs on this lake.

Once in a while I get talked into taking someone fishing that doesnt really fish that much . One day last spring a husband of one of my wife's friends was not hooking up. Told him to "cast right in there" and bam he hooked up with a good one that went about 6.5. Got my camera out and he said why ,this ones going on my wall. I tried totalk him into a replica mount, not the same he says. the fish went in the box. I tried to talk him out of keeping that fish for the rest of the day. Needless to say I stopped putting him on the fish and we did not boat another fish for 8-9 more hours. tried again in vain at the launch,no dice. later that year attended a party at his house and I asked him where his fish was. I was told that his wife said not enough in the account to have that "ugly stinky thing on my wall" . I was pissed and sort of heart broken all at the same time. wont ever take that guy again. When I do have a guest on my boat now, I make it abundantly clear that all bass go back in the lake, period. My question to all of you guides is, what do you do when a client insists on keeping fish ? Are they all clear on your posistion before they go out or do you have this same sort of conflict?

nice fish ,that young man will have memories for a lifetime,by the way the pros were on the lake and many did not land a fish like that. great job

make a clean splice it will work fine, you can buy rubber splicing tape at any home center.Combine it with a little liquid electrical tape and you will have a long lasting water tight connection. the rubber will stay soft for years, unlike electrical tape that will get brittle and crumble over time . The rubber tape is also great for trailer wiring. good luck
-
good decision, thanks for the report . Good to hear they are turning on to spinners.Gas up the boat, charge up the batts, take some time off. Did you see the forecast?

it was my second time out with the new toy. i think I still have to fine tune it a little but it is fairly simple to use. i had no idea any of this stuff was exactly where it is.The log on the gravel explains why we always get hooked up in that area. In the past we would pull up on the bank and start fishing parallel to shore now I can clearly see what was holding the fish. In my opinion if you are fishing a tourney and your competition has this tool, you may be at a disadvantage. I can show you thepics when i first saw the boat and log.you can see the cursor on the log as I marked it the first time very easy to navigate back to the spot to take a closer look. Its hard to tell if there are any fish on it in the pic,but Im sure they will be back in the spring.

the humminbird is a new technology that lowrance does not have. I have a 522 and it is a really good sonar unit .A larger screen is nice but thats all it is , a bigger picture. the side finder is capable of "seeing " way out to the side and you can clearly see what you are looking at. I can idle down a bluff and see exactly where the best trees are you can find the structure on a gravel point in one pass. the images are amazing and the gps is easy to use. you can spoy something far from your boat ,mark it and go right back to it very easily. here are some screenshots from sunday. you be the judge.

rick clunn sig series has served me well for 5 years now,it works pretty good with spinnerbaits also. the magnetic break is easily adjustable for windy conditions.if you live near Springfield check the catalog outlet youcan pick up some good deals on reconditioned or returned merchandise.
