  1. That's great Don! I'm sure I'm not the only one, but those of us who are landlocked for a while; really look forward to seeing more! - Not sure if you're gonna be going by the KC area, but I'd be curious to see what the ole higway 13 bridge looks like. (if there's even anything there?--I just recall someone posting an old picture before the river was dammed of both bridges; pretty cool!) - I always mean to slow down and check that area out on my fishfinder, but always forget when I'm there.
  2. Those are so great! I just never get tired of looking at those images. That technology is amazing. - Makes my 767c images, look like cave wall drawings.
  3. - Good point Bill, that seemed like a no-brainer to me; and well worth repeating.
  4. I think that is correct; shiny on sunny, dull on cloudy. But, hopefully someone else will jump in and confirm.
  5. Great thread here. I got to fish the James for whites last year (first time) and it was great! - We fish LOZ frequently for whites, but that James was something completely different; I loved it!
  6. I agree, their purchasing department could use some help.
  7. - +1 .................(actually, +100000 would be more appropriate)
  8. I'm just getting into painting my own crankbaits, and was curious to see some pix of your favorite, custom cranks you like to use on Table Rock. - I'm not after any secret colors or patterns; I'm just addicted to painting my own cranks; and would like to see some that people like to use on The Rock. (although I realize this has been touched on, and cranks aren't necessarily the go-to bait) - I just started using rattle can, and am thrilled with the results. I think I may have to step up to an airbrush setup soon.
  9. Our Cabelas carries 'em. Not sure where you live mo4packer, but they always have free ship-to-store. Kinda nice if you just want to try one bait, or one bag of worms; so you don't get stuck paying more for shipping than the product............BPS needs to take the hint! - Got a question for you guys who throw the McStick frequently; anyone modify them in anyway besides adding weight? - I've got a few, and really like 'em; just curious if any other tweaking recommended.
  10. Man, you guys are brave! I LOVE to fish; but now that we have little ones, they zap most of my drive and energy. Making it very tough to get out on the water in those conditions. Nice report though, thanks for the details; and great pix!
  11. Great news Donna! Glad to hear it. I've had personal experience dealing with the cancer scare and surgery with my father; so this hits very close to home. - Like Tim, I too love reading you and Champs posts. Always enjoyable. I hope to catch up with a bunch of you all this year when I make it down and say howdy!
  12. I'll be darned flyguy, I just got that issue yesterday and had it sitting here; hadn't thrumbed through it yet. - But of course had to go to the 'Day on the Lake' section to see. I'm very intrigued with that color, very cool! I just started painting my own lures and am completely addicted! That looks like a great color!
  13. - Great idea! +1
  14. Wulp, I guess I need to round out the posts for the St.Peters guys and make it a trifecta! Sadly, I've never met any of you guys, but I'm sure we will in time. - I've been very pleased with the Johnny Morris Signature Series rods. I picked them up on clearance last year from BPS for $69 a piece, vs. new at $169. I sold my Loomis GLX rod and haven't looked back. Not sure I would pay $169 for them; but nice rods still. - But, I will agree with the others from my majestic hometown of St.Peters. Mid-quality does the trick for me. And a good warranty is a definite plus! - Stock Jockey, for being new to bass fishing. If i'm not mistaken, you guys really 'cleaned' up at The Rock last spring didn't you?
  15. Quantities updated
  16. - I think Missouri is like 56lbs? But, I can't be certain.
  17. - What!?!? Your windchill of 11 degrees is not condusive to a pleasant day on the water? (I crack me up! ) - If it makes it feel any warmer to some of you, our windchill here in St.Louis is 3 degrees right now. - I like gitnby's idea: - "...........Others could fish vicariously through you on the videos. Some might even be willing to pay a modest annual or monthly subscription fee to see the "how to's" and "tips from the experts........." - I'd sure be willing to give to that cause. I feel guilty at times with all the great info (and entertainment) I get from OAF...........for free!
  18. Holy Moly, that's a biggun! I think my head might explode if I hooked up something like that!
  19. Great camera work Phil, and awesome explanations Bill. These videos are so GREAT! I love seeing the graph in action and an explanation of what's going on. I could watch these all afternoon! (when I can't be on the water ) - You guys have really outdone yourselves. I'd love to see more of these if possible?
  20. - If the bowl of rice doesn't work. Try putting it in a large ziploc bag for a few days, sealed up with uncooked instant rice in it. It's supposed to act like desiccant.
  21. Good post Becky. I'd like to see some peoples opinions on this. - I don't have a gaming system, but I may need to get a Wii. From the looks of the game 'The Strike', with the rod and reel controller; it's an intriguing setup. - Also, from a similar post on anotehr message board I'm on, several people did really like that game for the Wii, 'The Strike'. They said it's a good way to get your fishing fix when you're stuck indoors.
  22. Quite a conundrum Doug, I've had days like that myself. - I'd like to see what develops here too.
  23. - A bit off topic, but something that really bugs me. Some of these tackle companies are really dropping the ball here. What if I want to buy just a couple items they sell to try them out? Then I have to pay almost as much for shipping as the product!?!?!? NO thanks! - I'm not sure why some companies don't accomodate to smaller orders, by just putting a few stamps on a padded envelope, and hand them to the mail carrier. There have been TONS of companies over the years, where I would've liked to try their products; but due to high shipping costs, I just pass. I don't like the idea of having to order a bunch of a new product I've never tried, just to offset shipping costs. - Anywho, rant over, back to your regularly scheduled program. And I'm a jewel fan myself; but those Bass-x's are intriguing.....hhhhhhmmmmm
  24. Aaawwwww dang! I'll guess; spoon, crankbait, spinnerbait, jig. Not necessarily in that order. - Everyone be sure to post a report when you get back in! Since I can't get out, I LOVE reading the reports.
  25. - Holy Moly cs, that's awesome! Looks like I've just been off my game a bit. Certainly not the first time.
