  1. - I'm with yah techo. Great reports from Bill, but those detailed stories are a hoot! I live so far from The Rock, this kinda stuff keeps me smiling. Fights off the winter blues up here 'til spring.
  2. Dang.............Heated docks............wooowee.............that sounds fancy shmancy. That's a nice touch. Can't say I've ever seen many in the midwest.
  3. - Good info T! Glad to hear you're pleased with the new rig. Sounds like fishing wasn't too shabby either? At least you didn't get skunked.
  4. Give us an update on the new rig, and the fishing T. But, hopefully you stay out well after sunset, beacause the fishing is so good?
  5. - I'm with you techo. Seems like a tough row to hoe.
  6. Not sure if this would make it easier for everyone to contact Blunt and Bond via e-mail, but here's a link to their sites contact form. - Congressman Blunt: http://www.blunt.house.gov/Contact.aspx - Senator Bond: http://bond.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?Fu...tUs.ContactForm - Phil, if this is the wrong direction, let me know and I'll edit the post.
  7. Very cool #'s! Those big boys know where it's at! - Like Whack 'Em said, definitely a testimony to the site.
  8. Holy Moly Whack 'em..............you did just that.............WHACKED 'EM! - Nice fish!
  9. - No problem on the delayed response, we're all busy; I know how it is. - I'm trying to learn as much as I can about blade baits here recently, and am starting to gain some confidence with them. So I was just double checking if that's what you meant! - Thanks again.
  10. - Nathan, When you say you fished blades, are you talking blade baits? (like silver buddy's?)
  11. As opposed to asking to delete/edit the post; this sounds more like a great opportunity to go above and beyond, and set a good example. - It's a shame that those of us who have a grasp on 'the basics' (courtesy/manners) have to try and offset the actions of the idiots out there.
  12. - Cool pic Fishr! Those days on the water with the little ones, are the best. And, to add to it you caught fish! Win-Win.
  13. Nice smallie redbud! I love those foggy mornings. They always seem to produce well.
  14. Thanks Pbody, that's Great! I'm new to the spoon/blade bait thing, so everything helps! - Everything I've been reading, seems to indicate that the jerking it off the bottom motion, seems to set them up for a strike on the fall. I can't wait to give it a shot!
  15. - Pbody, if you don't mind me asking, were you throwing the 1/2 oz.? (I'm trying to learn as much as I can about blade baits/spoons) I thought that looked like a great size, but when matching the hatdh, I wasn't sure if it was a bit too large?
  16. - Great! That does help, any info for me at this point is beneficial. Thanks again!
  17. Fishrman, I'm a soft plastics guy, and have been learning more about spoon.blade baits lately, and try to get as much info as possible on their use/techniques, etc.. - If I'm not asking too much, could you elaborate more on the type of spoons/techniques; things that you've found productive?
  18. - No problem DD. I found it when I was looking for some natrual color of crawdads, and trying to more closely match the color of some of my baits. - Although, I know there are a lot of variables that can effect/change some of the natrual colors.
  19. Not sure if this would help or not? - http://mdc.mo.gov/nathis/arthopo/crayfish/varcraw.htm
  20. Great pix HC, and even better write-up. Like the others, I love to hear great stories of adventures down at the Rock. - And hats off to you for having the patience to take a road trip (camping no less) with a teenager!
  21. - What a bummer! - Days like those always have the feel of something crazy going to happen as the the sunlight and breeze pick up. Sorry to hear it didn't pan out. - I'm sure I'm not the only one who will miss your reports, have a safe trip and hurry back.
  22. - Welcome back to Bass fishing! I'll try and answer what I can. - Yup, skirted jigs with soft plastic trailer. - PBJ is the color -- Peanut Butter and Jelly (brown and purplish) - Soft plastic grub on a jighead is just that. (darter style jigheads seem a bit more popular, I'm not sure exactl;y what the reason is) - Fishing the grubs in deep water, when I get down there; we always count them down to the depth we're after, then slowly reel it back. Very effective! - I think they're probably are people that fish with a pork trailer. Isee them for sale, but soft plastic seems to be more common. I'm not sure if it's because of the variety of sizes/colors/styles etc. But that's just my observation. - As for the buzzbait/spinnerbait, someone else will have to chime in. I rarely use them.
  23. Man Bill, what a great read! - I only get down to The Rock a few times a year, and these fishing reports bring back great memories. Keep 'em comin'......................you lucky dawgs!
  24. Holy Cow! Those are the biggest crawdads I've ever seen! Great Pic! :-)
  25. - A bit off topic, but I PRAY Table Rock never gets anything like LOZ. - For the few times a year I get down to The Rock, I would agree, a 20' deck boat should be fine. Even when the water gets a bit rougher, it should be plenty stable, and comfortable.
