  1. I'll take on the burden of being his therapist. Hunter, the first step is getting them out of your possession. Out of sight, out of mind. I PM'd you my address along with a prepaid USPS label for those boxes. Please send them at your earliest convenience. Kind Regards, Your Bait Hoarding Sponsor - Brett
  2. This comment screams internal bait monkey turmoil.
  3. Impressive. Very nice haul of Walters, especially on TR. Well done sir and thanks for the pics/report.
  4. I still stink. Even went conservative this round for the first time in the last 4 or 5 events and STILL BOMBED. I'm snake bit! Probably because Beardsley is loaded with them and extremely dangerous to fish. Seriously, don't go in that creek unless you want to get bit by a Kingcobramoccasinrattlesnake.
  5. Big difference between BEATINGS and behavior correcting SPANKINGS. What you see now with "safe spaces", adult temper trantrums when they don't get their way and lashing out in public in a pathetic manner is a direct result of poor parenting/leadership. Most of the nonsense, pouting, pandering and hypocrisy comes from one side of the isle. Not hard to guess which.
  6. Another bump and last reminder to get your lineups set as Champlain starts tomorrow morning. Get your lineups in before lock. PS- I stink. Been drop(shot)ing in the standings like a (Table) Rock the last handful of events.
  7. Bill and Champ nailed it. Lots of variables go into casting a bait. Letting the rod do the work for you, as Champ mentioned, is the key. Having a nice reel helps but the settings (brakes, magnets, spool tension) you have for the weight/aerodynamics of that bait is more important. When I cast my hands have very little movement and never get above shoulder height. All the motion is done right at the ribs to chest. I use two hands and use them as a fulcrum point. Get the bait going back, let the rod load and push the bait on out there with the rod. Growing up, my grandfather and uncles were always "pistol grippers" and would throw or whip the bait out there which requires more effort and you get less distance. Sometimes they would reach so far with one arm they would snag the hat or other pieces of the person in the back of the boat. There should never be that much "travel" in your hands or arms. Not the way you want to do it. Also, if you have had line on your reel and it's been sitting for any length of time either stretch it out on a tree before you hit the water or replace it. Makes a WORLD of difference. Casting line that is curly-q'd will zap your distance, accuracy and make for a lot of "professional overrun". I also use line conditioner before I start a trip and that will help as well to keep the line limber and castable. My 2 cents.
  8. Last bump before lineups lock early tomorrow AM. Get'em set lady and gentlemen.
  9. No kidding. Been thinking of getting one for the kids and nieces/nephews. But, having a hard time dropping about $700 clams on one! For a FOAM MAT!
  10. Like the shirt. Love the fish. Thanks for the report and pics.

    Hair Jig

Yep. Just like most discontinued baits that have any sort of following.

    Hair Jig

Can still find some jars on Ebay.
  13. Also, only about 500 points separates 10th place from you in 23rd. That can be made up in one tournament and certainly the rest of the season. Be like Ike anddddd.....................
  14. You just never know. The last tournament I put up the lowest # of the year in our league for someone that actually filled out a lineup.
  15. Says the guy who has been in first all year....lol. J/K. I think 10 is fair and we will go with what I laid out in my previous post. Will keep at least a few more guys interested down the stretch that would otherwise be "out of the running" if we were only to payout 5 or 6 places. At the end of the season we will get addresses of the winners and I will coordinate who sends what to who to make it easy and there won't be any double ups. Thanks for all that have participated and good luck the rest of the year.

    Hair Jig

I know guys that throw small white hair jigs in the winter and do well on TR.
  17. Also, I know that we decided that we would like a larger "payout" to involve more winners. How many places would you guy like to see "paid out". We have 27 participants. Every participant whether they are in the "money" or not have to donate 1 bait. Was thinking the breakdown would be something similar to this paying out 10 places: 1st - 6 baits 2nd - 5 baits 3rd - 4 baits 4th - 3 5th - 2 6th - 2 7th - 2 8th - 1 9th - 1 10th - 1 Let me know if you guys want to go with that format for payout or if you would like to pay less spots with more baits or more spots with let baits per place. I am good with whatever the majority wants. Also, baits should be in the $5-10 range. Nothing crazy like a $25 Megabass and no $1 Walmart spinnerbaits either. Something like a pack of your favorite color of senkos, a crank in a color that you don't see others throwing but kill then on it, etc. Maybe let someone in on a secret bait if you're feeling froggy. This is supposed to be fun and maybe have guys try baits they otherwise wouldn't think of tying on, perhaps. Chime in with your thoughts, opinions or concerns. -Brett

    Hair Jig

Man that looks killer Pepe. Bet that would be dynamite at night.
  19. I have enough problems with single hooks baits that I don't even think about throwing a bait with a double set of trebles. Dock owners around the dam area would NOT be happy if I was flinging DD22's and the like after sundown. Also probably save myself a few trips to the ER by keeping the cranks locked up in their box at night.
  20. Just your friendly reminder to get your lineups set for this weeks Elite tournament at St. Lawrence that starts Thursday morning. I know some have forgotten about fantasy fishing since it's been a long lay off but plenty of time to make up ground in the 2nd half. Good luck everyone. 21. I agree with everything said here. I am not a braid guy either. Run either fluoro or co-poly on everything. Only setup I run pure mono is on my 6'3 short topwater rod.
  22. Just look at the banks and that should tell you what kind of rock is below the water. Pea gravel isn't hard to find but majority of it is around mid lake to the dam area of Table Rock.
  23. There is always a lot of hearsay about the Korean factories that are kicking out a few of the major brand of reels. I have HEARD that BPS, Abu and Lew's are all made at the same factory. Whether that is true or not I have no idea. But a lot of those reels do have a similar look, feel, design and build to them.
  24. With the new technology of reels these days you should never have to use a FULL FORCE MAX EFFORT cast. Might have to put a little extra oomph on lighter baits or if you are really wanting to get a crank/winding bait out there (usually mid to deep cranking). I use Tatula's most of the time and I would say a 50-75% effort on the cast gives me all the distance I need. Especially on jigs/soft plastics where you don't want 70 yards of line out and especially on fluoro/mono. If one does pick it up all the way at the end of the cast, makes it a little hard to get that hook into them with the stretch combo'd with that amount of line out.
