  1. Awesome catches. Need to get in on some of that striper action on Bull sometime. That bass is giant but butt ugly...but when you are probably 20 years old which is like 200 in fish years you've probably seen better days. Thanks for sharing.
  2. LOL. It looks like the frog is eating/attacking the bass.
  3. The Fuego's have always been a nice reel (both baitcaster and spinning) in Daiwa's lineup. Looking at their spec's they are good value spinning reel from Daiwa.
  4. Haven't heard many good things about Lew's spinning reels. Might need to steer clear of those until they figure it out.
  5. And the politically correct wussification of America strikes again!
  6. They are all at the Horny Toad getting drunk.
  7. I have Daiwa and Pflueger spinning reels. I have the Pflueger MGX Supreme and it's a nice reel. That being said I think Daiwa is just knocking everything out of the park these days with both baitcasters and spinning reels. Babler is on the water around 250 days out of the year so I tend to listen to just about anything he has to say in regards to performance and durability of gear. I know he is a fan of the Daiwa Procyon which can be had new on Ebay for $106.99. They sell for $150 at Tackle Whorehouse. If I were getting a new spinning reel that would be it. Dave (where you at DAVE!?) I know is a fan of the Daiwa Exceler. That can be had for less than your budget at around 50-60 bucks new on Ebay.
  8. Trade in your boat for one of those Duck tour boats. Problem solved. 50 birds - 1 stone. Or just rent out the Branson Belle and have 300 lines dropped over of railing.
  9. Not sure I would want to start putting super glue on my line, in the spool or get it near my baitcaster internals. Tape is a lot less permanent or hassle free. In other words I need idiot proof stuff.
  10. It's weird because I am not really like that with any other bait. I can get over not catching them on a crank, topwater or pretty much any other bait and switch gears. But with the jerkbait I just can't seem to let it go. Call me Elsa.
  11. That's what Youtube is for.
  12. At nearly $1,700 I wouldn't have that bait so close to the edge of that tool box so it can fall off and break.
  13. Hahahahaha. Great post!
  14. Long, somewhat precise casts, angles back to the boat and wood. Took me a while to gain confidence in the jerker as well but you will figure it out. Looks like you're a quick study on the cranks so just hang in there. When you do figure it out and get into a nice bunch hanging out in some tree tops doesn't get any better IMO. It's a big fish catcher.
  15. Man you are really TERRIN them up on the cranks lately. Nice work!
  16. Haven't tried this but I have heard of guys using electrical tape on their spool at about 25 yards into your line. Supposedly keeps the backlashes from getting deep into your spool and you can still keep your normal amount of line on your reel.
  17. Top notch report there. Glad you got on some fish. I think I am most stubborn with the jerkbait over any other bait. I will throw that thing all day when I should have put it down after 45 minutes.
  18. Heard that the Abu Orra Winch is a heck of a cranking reel for $100 bucks or under.
  19. While I have never done the "rip a lipless" through grass, it seems like that would get exhausting (especially if you are not catching). But just the videos I see on Youtube from some of the Texas lakes (and stuff like Guntersville) would make you fight thought it as you could get a 10lb reward tugging on the end of your line. Thanks for sharing your trip. Need to get down to those Texas lakes sometime.
  20. KOVERT.....how fitting. You sneaky dog. Have never tried any Denali Rods myself but seem to get good reviews anytime I run by a thread on BBC or on TW reviews.
  21. Bass Boat Central. The biggest fishing forum website on the internet.
  22. Saw this over on BBC as well. INSANE what these guys are willing to pay for this bait. Not sure if this is a lot of your friends driving up the price on Ebay or what but it's certainly creating a buzz that's for sure. Thing looks amazingly realistic but the action is just ho-hum to me. Also are those big saltwater hooks necessary? Didn't know there were any gators or sharks in Arkansas waters. Good luck to your buddy and hope he makes a bunch of money. Cool bait.
  23. Are these the super secret rods that we dare not mention their name????? If so why are you so freely sharing what reels you are putting on them? Secret's OUT! Or at least half.
  24. Yeah. After CJ had just left there. LOL.
