    Finicky Trout?

The fly fishermen were baitng their lines. See it all the time. One thinks fly fishermen are paragons of virtue and good sport. But, as usual, some color outside the lines. Just look closer to those who are catching fish while others struggle. They will be seen often "looking at their fly" after every catch, but not changing. Sorry. It's not fluoro carbon or your presentation. People cheat. Even fly fishermen.

    What's Cooking?

"Sacred cows make the best burgers." with love, Joe ps: you guys should keep ignoring what I say and instead focus your anger on me as a person and make assumptions as to my character. I think it's only fair. pss: (so girlie) don't kid yourselves, your opinion that this sub forum is so popular is misguided. It's popular for the same 10 people.

    What's Cooking?

I love liquor and drugs and sex. "..of course I've never had it in the ear before..." Are we so emasculated that we jizz over what others cook for dinner? F*** that.

    Jerk baits

NOOOO! I love Ramses. Shame on you Master! I'm so fired up I can't think. Looking forward to that tell tale "tug tug tug" from a big brownie. Books are my daughters' Terrierman. She, obviously, is intelligent. Unlike her Dad.

    Jerk baits

McStick is a McStud. Going down this weekend through next Wednesday. High flood water. Should be interesting at the very least.
  10. Alright, alright alright! Good job Brian. Nice fish. End of January and you're wearing just a sweatshirt. Water looks good behind you.

    Jerk baits

I'm here to help. Closed box is closed for a reason.
  13. You're watching a movie, not a history lesson or precise rendition of supposed true events. If that were the case, then, yes, as a comedian once said, "Barney Rubble, what an actor!" Also, I don't remember a bad a++ hombre getting a town to paint its buildings red in the history books. That would never happen right?

    Jerk baits

There are much better options than the Rogue. The new generation of suspending jerkbaits cast better, dive quicker, suspend and move better, and have sharper hooks and better paint jobs. Sometimes newer is better,
  16. I don't go less than 8 for what I do. Also, if the gauge at Mauntauk is below a certain level and CFS, I generally don't go. "Haters gonna hate." Stupid saying. "Shake It Off Shake It Off" .

When are you planing on going? Water flow dictates jerkbait usage. And the willingness and commitment to throw all day.
  18. I love me some Dan Kreher! Correct, thoughtful, tolerant. With our, all of us, basically, fishing interests in mind. He puts his money where his mouth is and works for us. Himself too obviously. While I am skeptical about government in general, MDC included, I am not skeptical about Dan nor his efforts to bring positive change to smallie fishing in Missouri. As an uninformed misanthrope who can apparently only cast stones, I do have the utmost respect for Mr Kreher . Therefore, I will refrain from my usual default negativity as it pertains to this here subject, and try to be positive and helpful. Within reason.
  19. If fish hated cold water, then they would pack their bags and leave. How is a sharp hook in a fish's mouth more stressful in winter? Why do we think fish conserve energy in winter? Like a bear? Just because we are uncomfortable, doesn't mean they are. If you catch a fish, then release it, and it swims away, then chances are, it'll live. If you catch a fish and put it on a stringer to eat later, then it won't live. That's about it. Unless you can lovingly entice them into your hands with your fish empathy.
  20. That sounds vaguely cynical Wrench. And sarcastic. You, sir, are dangerously close to encroaching on my turf. And no one likes me, so, buyer beware.
  21. Governmentspeak at its best. Called it from a mile away (look at my posts if you don't believe me). Dan K is a saint, no question. Yet, the MDC says Really? Another public comment period? Another committee? Another Commission? Missouri Register? And Missouri smallmouth anglers should be happy...why? Because things are being...what? Considered? Summarized? Recommended? (Yes Joe!) Okay. Progress, right?
  22. Why are you asking us? Your initial statement gives you away. If you know Baptist, then you know everything else.
  23. See? It's not news now fellas. The world has moved on. White guys with guns making a mountain out of a mole hill. Dismissed!
  24. The United States is safer because these citizen patriots will defend to the death, any immigrants trying to enter Federal land in Oregon. They didn't buy those AR-15s for nothing. USA! USA! USA!
  25. Frank Haith has apparently left a path of questionable behavior and misconduct at the University of Miami, and, now, the University of Missouri. Sanctions may be forthcoming to Mizzou. He is now coaching Tulsa University. He is not alone in suspect coaches running from collegiate athletic programs that have come under suspicion of improprieties and cheating. Some are coaching now. Haith, Bruce Pearl, Jim Boeheim, John Calipari, to name a few obvious ones. They move on to other programs that turn a blind eye to past behaviors in order to get a name coach and become a viable program. For all its rules, the NCAA really does nothing to punish these coaches, for fear of alienating a billion dollar college juggernaut and the fans who support it. Honestly, it reminds me of the Catholic Church, moving priests around parishes, just ahead of lawsuits from parishioners who have been violated by predatory priests. The Diocese is and was well aware of problems, but, in the interest of saving face and keeping the "Church" intact and unblemished, chose to do nothing but move people around, instead of admitting an ongoing and poisonous problem. The comparison, admittedly, might be a stretch, but that is what I thought, and, think, when I heard the Mizzou news. A large organization hiding trouble from the public for purely selfish reasons, with really no thought or empathy for those directly affected. And incorrect consequences for individuals at fault. Passing the buck in a cynical and greedy manner. (Please note: I am not making apple to apple comparisons. I am well aware of the seriousness of abuse and do not mean one is as bad as the other. It is the behavior of large, powerful entities that I refer to. Please, I mean no disrespect to anyone who has suffered trauma from priests).
