  1. Go to this link and scroll down to " Missouri River Basin-Osage River " and it will give you the little sac and sac and pomme river charts....... http://waterdata.usgs.gov/mo/nwis/current/?type=flow&group_key=basin_cd
  2. Check this link of the map of motels on the lake.....Click on a dot and it will give you the contact info... I have heard Stone Creek Lodge clean and between mid price & cheap... Please post the one you choose and a evaluation of the place..( I am going to need one next spring - sold my camper ) https://www.google.com/maps/search/stockton+lake+motels/@37.5574126,-93.698138,11z/data=!3m1!4b1
  3. My wife said "it feels funny" the first couple of cast and with in 15 minutes was hitting her target, within three feet....
  4. If you want something cheap and anybody can learn in 3 minutes, plus I have two that are over 15 years old ( and still working )... Look at the Shimano IX series of reels... ( $15) I have 7 of the Spirex series that I and the wife use and the IX's are use by the granddaughters and any body else "learning" to fish........ This is a link to bass pro and the reel with reviews... http://www.basspro.com/Shimano-IX-Spinning-Reels/product/1208290532158/?cmCat=CROSSSELL_THUMBNAIL
  5. CLICK ON THE LINK AT THE BOTTOM OF HIS REPORT.............
  6. Now that is a fishing report ..... Not just - upper lake=fair, mid lake=poor , somewhere=good.. Like we see from our tax supported officials !!!!
  7. And for those who are afraid of turning OFF there lights -- Turn them to "PARKING" -- even us old farts can see good enough with parking lights to back down a launch ramp. That way everybody else is not blinded and guessing where their trailer is going.... Thanks LW for starting this thread .......
  8. This is a scan of the front & back of the map package.... I am not sure if you can still find them anywhere....
  9. Don't buy anything till you check the prices at Digital Oasis !!!!!!!!!!! I have bought two graphs and a trolling motor from them and not only did they beat the "big box stores" price; there was FREE UPS/FEDX shipping and no sales tax...... http://www.thedigitaloasis.com/
  10. OK... But, you can see the definition and clarity of the "7" line of the new generation of Lowrance... The Lowrance® Elite-7 Hybrid Dual Imaging™ Fishfinder/Chartplotter Combo will have the same clear/sharp picture.. It only took me 6 months of saving- selling a 522/graph/gps unit, a very small income tax refund and special one night sale at BPS for me to get the HDS unit....
  11. Do you want side/down imaging?? This a screen shot of my Lowrance HDS7 , while on Beaver lake... The second is a screen shot on Stockton...
  12. Here is a couple of maps from 1975 that shows the gap in the tree line across the area your talking about ... When I got here in 1986, I went up there and idled around till I found the gap and have never came off plane since..... The red circle is where the single tree the other post talked about....
  13. The best shallow troll'r with a bigger profile (IMHO) is the shad rap .... It is suppose to go to 6ft but it seems to only run about 4-5.....
  14. I stopped by BPS today and thought I would pick up a few of the new hot bait.... They had a fair selection but at $6 each I only got 1.... Here is scan of the package with the dives too chart..... It is a little hard to see but, with 10/4 fire-line it should reach 28 foot with 180-200 feet of line out ??

  16. I try 2-4 of baits I know work and if no takers I look for the next targets.... " just like slot machines-some pay and some don't".......
  17. Nice report and welcome to the "search first-fish second" crowd.....
  18. Alright - we now have an "insider" who's data one can trust !!! CONGRATULATIONS on landing a fisherman's dream job....
  19. Sounds like what I found on Stockton yesterday except, I wasn't smart enough to try a spinnerbait.... Thanks for the report...
  20. If you are running a Ranger, you can mount the sidescan transducer up under the "set back" ... Mine and both of my sons have them mounted there and no problems as they are out of the water on plane... You have to mount the 2D where it will stay in the water all the time... My "tournament" son has had his "kick up" a dozen + times but, he just pushes it back down and it is still working three years later..
  21. Great job on finding the fish !!! BUT, Beaver Lake + the week end + summer + 12 foot jon boat = "E" ticket at Disney Land .............
  22. Sweet looking ride.... But, I would buy some "velcro" soled shoes, with all the "Queen Mary" size wakes I have seen and been in on Beaver...
  23. It doesn't get any better than "catfish & hushpuppies" !!!!
  24. Typical summer (warm water) algae bloom... with out a storm to stir up the water it grows ..... But, the good news is it only happens in FERTILE waters.....
  25. I will remember that, as I have found the Blue background works best on stockton...... Thanks for excellent info.....
