  9. This one says only 30 minutes with a 40amp alternator and you only need to run enough RPM for full alternator output-- On my 175 merc it is about 1900-2000 rpms .. http://www.stealth1charging.com/FAQ.html
  10. Here is part of an article from Bassmasters on boat batteries --- " The most important thing you can do is charge your batteries — regardless of type — as soon as you return from fishing. If you let batteries sit under partial charge for long periods of time, you will see a drop in their performance because of sulfation, and there will be a drop in the longevity of the batteries as well." I charge mine EVERY time as soon as I get home and it has almost doubled the life of the Wal-Mart batteries, that I use..... This is a link to Bassmaster tips on batteries.... http://www.bassmaster.com/tips/6-tips-improving-boat-battery-life
  11. Great data Straw Hat..... The only thing I do different is --- I have a "thermal" plug that turns on at 35 degrees and off at 42 degrees and I have a 40 light bulb ( NOT energy efficient ) plugged in to the thermal plug.. It keeps my batteries and the back sump area above freezing, encase I didn't get all the water out of my lines... I think I gave about $7-8 for it 12 years ago... I used this set up on my motor home for 7 years to keep my water pump and lines from freezing....
  12. You didn't say a price point but, "AGM" batteries will out last "wet cells" 2 to 1 and they are about $350ea.. But, if you are looking for "VERY TOP OF THE LINE" go with the "LITHIUM" batteries ... They are warranty is an incredible four years or 800 cycles BUT !!!! they run $1,999 ea.... Here are a couple of links of battery types..... https://www.trollingmotors.net/battery-selection-trolling-motor http://www.ultimatebass.com/bass-fishing-news/industry-news/2648-martens-to-run-lithium-pro-batteries.html http://lithiumpros.com/product-category/batteries/12v-batteries.html?product_tag=marine&pa_amp-hours=100 http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B001UFXHQI/01-57-20 http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B002498NR2/01-57-20 The last boat I had while tournament fish -- I used AGM's and at the end of the year they were still as strong as at the start..... All that being said... I am currently running two of the biggest marine batteries that Wally-World sells and I can troll all day with my Xi-5 and still have 25-30% left.... They are $125ea.
