  1. My spinning reels will start working properly once they dry out. After fishing a few hours in the rain is when they develop the problem.
  2. It is brand new reel. The old one I took into BP to be repaired and they just replaced it with a new reel. BP reel repair said they have never heard of this problem and have no idea how to fix it. Is Ardent Butter Oil and Grease a silicone lubricant?
  3. I have a Plueger spinning reel and when I am fishing in the rain it sticks (handle hard to turn at a point in the rotation) when trying to reel slow. Any else have that problem and/or know how to fix it?
  4. If I did that I would have to cut and retie each of time i wanted to change the plastic baits. I guess it comes down to time and convenience. I usually have handful of different plastic baits in my pocket and I maybe changing them out frequently based upon various conditions. With the wire keeper I can change out a plastic bait in just a few seconds.
  5. I did end up gluing the TRD on but it was a little challenging. If there was a way you could make those with a wire keeper that would be great for the Ned rig. The wire keepers allows me the ability to swap out the TRD very quickly on the jig if I am needing change colors.
  6. Bo I used you crappie jigs when they first came out on the TRD and if I remember correctly they have the molded in keeper. Is that correct?
  7. Had a tougher day today in blue skies. Caught around 15-20 keepers. Did catch a 18.5” SM. Launched out of Cape Fair. Did find water up to 63 by the end of the day.
  8. Today was a better day. Found water temp around 58-60 and caught around 30 keepers today.
  9. We fished yesterday for about 7.5 hous and only had 8 fish to show for it. Only 2 keepers. We could not find a pattern. This cold water is really killing the Spring bite for me or maybe I don’t know how to catch fish any more.
  10. I fished out of Indian Point on Saturday from 8:30-1:30 and caught zero. That may have been the worst day in April I have ever had. We could not fish the main lake and had to hug the banks in the creeks in order to stay out of the wind. Even though I did not get to fish the exact location I wanted, I still would have thought I would pick one up.
  11. I fished out of Baxter all day yesterday and caught around 25. And it was a grind. Just could not find a pattern yesterday. Had about 1' water visibility up around Big creek and back in Indian. About 3' visibility out on main lake around Baxter toward the mouth of the James.
  12. Thanks for the report regardless. Some of the pictures did load.
  13. Thanks for the report Quilback. I look forward to the warmer weather and WT
  14. For future repairs---I have used Tom at Championship Marine in Spokane and though he did a good job.
  15. That is brave talk coming from a man that fish's with his back to Donna. You might forget the new rod and consider investing in a mirror that mounts to the trolling motor..
  16. bow were they on the bottom again?
  17. I have heard of the phrase "he choked it" But that usually applies to the bait and the fish. I have never heard it apply to the line and the fisherman. ?
  18. What does a guy that fishes within 1 mile of the ramp need a Mercury 250. If you borrowed the 250 it might be a few days before he noticed it missing
  19. On Saturday I fished from Indian Point to Little Cow creek and catching was non-existent. I don't remember it being this hard last year.
  20. Hey Bo, what brand of jig do you use?
  21. Sorry this is a little late and not filled with a lot of insightful info. We fished from 7-4 and caught 9 fish (3 keepers). The keepers were caught on ned and WW. Never could find a pattern. We caught a fish here an there. We threw cranks, ned, spinnerbait, jerkbait and chatterbait. It was a tough day with sunny skies and the occasional wind. Water temp was 49-54. Maybe I can put the puzzle pieces together on the next trip.
  22. Dave I wonder if the Classic fisherman would put all the fish in the bottom of the boat is there was a penalty for doing so?
  23. Oh I see. I have a 18' Ranger and I have plenty of strap to do that way. Mine is a 92 model so maybe the straps were longer back then.
  24. Champ, When I am launching alone I just keep the boat hooked to trailer wench, let out a bunch of rope, engage the lever so it will not let out any more rope and then back it in like the video shows. I then unclip the boat and crank up the line with the wench. I am not understanding the advantages of a seperate rope that it shows in the video.
