Chris, Sounds like you a better day than me. I did not fish the bluff or fish a grub. I was going to fish some bluff before the wind blew me away. Should have started there but I enjoyed being out on the water and challenge of it all. I think the fish out did me.

Went out of Indian Point first thing this a.m. and went toward the dam. To quote another poster "nothing here move along" I only caught one 3lbs SM. I threw topwater, jigs, cranks and spinnerbaits from 2-25' fow. I stayed till around 2:00 after the wind had blowing me away. Days like this sure are humbling.

LL It all sounded good till I saw the picture with the Cowboys accessories. (must be NFL season). What size jig was you having the most success with?

Did it rain down there last night. It poured around 11:00 in Nixa

GF, I had a similar problem last year and Tom at Championship Marine did great job of fixing my boat. I would recomend him for sure.

Double Uni I have tied many floro leader to braid. It has never come untied and it easy to tie.

Danny, I have a 998 and have seen the same thing. There was not a boat anywhere close and I had been idling along for several minutes in 30' - 50' water. It is the same smoke color as prop wash but it is a column that comes off the bottom and goes to the surface. Don House probably could answer our questions.

Thanks Skeeter. I went to BP and the Hotmaps and Hotmaps Premium looked the same. I could not see any difference in local area lakes.

Capt Joe, Help me understand why you are having to subtract the 15'. Since each unit has it's own antenna and works as an independent GPS, it should take you to the lon/lat cordinates that are marked; regardless of the where the unit is that marked the cordinate. So you should not have to subtract the 15'? In other words, if you give me the cordinates off of your unit I could take my GPS and go right to the that point even though my GPS could be miles from your unit. Since both of your units have their own antennas shouldn't they do the same? If 2 units are sharing one antenna then that is a horse of different color.

Does anyone know what the difference is between the Hotmaps 2010 and Hotmaps Premium 2010, other than more maps? Looks like all the area lakes are in HD. I dont see any difference on the Navionics webpage.

Trav, I had a pretty similar experience on Saturday (see my report from earlier). I hope to try it again in a couple of weeks. Saturday was a nice day to be out.

Doug, I heard it is better to give than receive. Is that true?

I put in at Cape Fair on Saturday at 7:30 a.m. and ran to Flat Creek. I caught 2 big slab crappie within the first hour on a stickbait out in the creek channel. That was the last touch I had all day. I fished till about 4:30 p.m. and was working all the channel swings as I worked my way back to Cape Fair. Water temp was around 46 most of the day. I really thought with the rise in temp up the creek the fishing would have been better. I threw eveything except a topwater and spinnerbait. I even flipped a jig around a dock for awhile; all the while thinking this does not feel like the correct time of year. I talked to a friend that went to Stockton on Saturday and caught serveral short black bass and a few whites. I dont know if this mess helps anyone out there but here it is. I left the Rock mentally wore out. If anyone else has fished the Rock lately I would like hear your experiences.

I threw Spiderwire and Fireline. Both of it seems to affect the bait if I am trying to get it to get it to a fairly acccurate depth by counting down the drop. I will try a some of the suggestion above and if that does not work I will ty on a full cast length flouracarbon leader. Thanks for the info.

Great screen shots Don. I keep putting nickels together one these days maybe I can own one of those. Curious which one ,HM or LOW, moves first to lower their price on them. Which everyone does will take a huge market share of the business. In the meantime, Don keep the screen shot coming.
