  1. there are to many boats up the flat creek and James River at spawn time. to many fish taken. They should shut flat creek from April 5th thru the 25th, rough spawn time to easy to catch. Also the James from point 15 on up. Make it a little harder to catch and we would all enjoy much larger crappies and more of them,
  2. I believe a lot of it has to do with fishing pressure. I have had a place down there for 23 years. The first 10 years we caught and released 100s of crappie in April. You could catch all you wanted. These crappies were huge. We caught one 41/4 lbs. 2-3 lbers were common. BUT there were only a few boats back in flat creek and james river catching them. About 12 years ago or longer people started posting on the internet about the crappies in April. It gets more crowded every year. Last year I went back in flat creek and I bet there were 40 boats back there during crappie catching springtime. That is a lot of crappies coming out of such a small concentrated area. In a couple of weeks when they are easy to catch think how many are taken out of there and the james. As soon as they reach legal size they are gone. A posting last year people were saying there are no big crappies around, I believe this is the reason why, fishing pressure. I do not fish very hard I just troll deep all summer catch quite a few crappies, bass, channel cats and a few walleyes again trolling deep, keep none of the fish we catch. All in the heat of the day, bright and sunny get down there deep and you will catch fish. I read the postings on the internet and I REALLY appreciate all the information. Bill your reports I really appreciate the info you give us amateurs for free. Just a few of my own thoughts
  3. YOU CAN ALSO EAT AND HAVE A BEER AT FLAT CREEK
  4. FLAT CREEK
  5. Is that crapy legal size?
  6. The flat creek used to be a fabulous place to fish for crappies in the spring huge crappies. And about 10 years ago all these IDIOTS STARTED posting all the big crappies they catch and now in the spring you have boats lined up like show time in Branson. I actually got a 43/16 crappie 12 years ago back there. But that is the electronic world we live in now.
  7. The lakeside convience store in cape fair has them.
  8. What lake were they caught at?
  9. Forget the spoons. Not many people fish this lake for eyes. Correct there are BIG eyes all over this lake. Over 20 lbs. I believe if someone would drift crawlers off the flats where the drop off is they might be shocked how many they get. Lazy I do not want to screw with crawlers I troll and pick up a few eyes Good luck let us know how you do.
  10. I met shysters.
  11. I troll cape fair area a lot. Troll for crappies. Get th on green and orange shifters.
  12. are you sure the prop is not slipping, there is a rubber bushing inside the center of the prop, they can get a little loose. Take it to Dyna Prop on 76 by Cape Fair they can fix. If you are going to get your prop redone they can check it. To lose that nuch speed it would have to be really bad.
  13. Is thst the Satate Park area. Never knew Cape Fair had a public use area with pavillion.
  14. I went on the site, says 30 to 50 million visitors a year to Table Rock Lake. Seems high to me what do you all think?
  15. I joined Sea Tow, cost $100.00 a year. With my kids taking my boat all the time it is worth for peace of mind.
  16. I have a boat there, first class operation, you can also rent jet skis.
  17. I don,t think diameter of line matters much. We give these bass to much credit for being smart. Monday night i caught 8 bass 3 to 5 lbs in 10 minutes off the same rockey point. I used a buzz bait. Fantastic fishing, I caught 8 in the first 10 minutes, ended up catching 13 all together. Went back to the same point the next morning never had a hit. My point was I could of thrown anything at those fish any diameter line and they would of nailed the lure. Just have to be in the right place at the right time.
  18. GO TO DYNA PROP IN CAPE FAIR, EXCELLANT WORK. MATT IS THE OWNER, TELL HIM WES SENT YOU. 417-538-2736
  19. Cape Fair, go to point 15, up the James River, go up to Walnut springs, boat ramp on left, start trolling north there, go to the bend, come back. Follow the channel. Let me know how many you catch
  20. Did you get any Walleyes, roughly what part of the lake? THANKS WES
  21. I have had a boat slip at the Cape Fair Marina for seven summers. It is like night and day concerning the Cape Fair Marina, old to the new, the improvements they have made are fantastic. The people down there are friendly help us slipers and BASS FISHERMAN, I,am also one of them, with anything we need. Always available, booze, gas, snacks, a full service restaurant, covered slips, what more could we ALL want out of a marina.
  22. I also considered buying a camera. But how far can you see in Table Rock Lake? Is it worth the money. Do you actually see any Fish?
  23. Your all full of crap, it is a big lake, those big boats have just as much right to go on table rock as any other boat. Go during a weekday and there are few boats out there. Big lake, find a cove and catch all the fish you want. we do it every weekend, 800 miles of shoreline, you can surely find a place to fish without the BIG BOATS bothering you. By the way I do not have a big boat, I just enjoy the lake and do not COMPLAIN.
