  1. You guys rock . Thanks for all the sweeeet advice for a newbie .
  2. I have never customized my setting at all on here and I have done what you suggested and my search is still hidden. I feel like a techno baby
  3. Which borders? The ones around the banner ad? I don't know what default theme or special skins are.
  4. Rainy Lake. I am assuming we will be using bait (although i prefer lures)...but i haven't met with my fishing partners yet. Just trying to get a basic idea of what gear to start assembling. I never been fishing up north before so if you have a list of basic stuff (ie rain gear and the like) I would appreciate all of your help. So far i've been told a good med action spinning rod, but thats about it. Fishing for walleye, small mouth, muskie, pike and crappie. Thanks, BRBF
  5. The local Wenonah dealer has an ivory vagabond they would deal on. At 14'6" is it large enough to camp out of for several days or should I go bigger?
  6. Thanks for the information. What size line do you use with the rapalas? Gold and Black? and the cleos and jakes how do you fish them? I've had limited success on them and it has only been trolling. Need help. Thx
  7. Sorry guys you are way over my head. I have never encountered this problem on the forum before. But when I log on and my private messages pop up from the forum they are blocked behind this banner ad. I have google tool bar with pop up blocker so I think its just the banner ad that the site has at the top of the main forum page. To see it all you have to do is click on search and it is hidden.
  8. It depends on generation. If it is mainly shut off you will have to go to very small jigs or fish bait on the bottom (below fall creek obviously). If they are running water (which I guess they did sat.) you should be fine with 1/8 oz on down depending on water flows. For effective jig fishing you will need to be bouncing off the bottom. Good luck.
  9. Your right. .67 per day for the year at $41,000,000 or .38 at $22,000,000 I bet this ends up in court $19,000,000 is a lot of money to give up. Either way should someone in MO who has a contract to buy power have it pulled out from under them?? Maybe they should just flip the switch on Taneycomo and get it back. Ha Ha.
  10. He is out of ICU and into a regular room and is hopeful to go home soon. Many thanks to all who said a prayer as it appears devine intervention was at play here bc it didn't look good at all. Thanks again to everyone on Ozarkanglers. BRBF
  11. $41,000,000 / 167,000 / 30 days = $8.18 If your bill is $150 = 5.5%
  12. Are there certain boat colors to avoid for fishing canoes or kayaks?
  13. I have some friends who bought a summer house down by Scotty's and they eat at Gilberties (probably bad spelling it is Italian) in Hollister ever time they go down there. I can honestly say I've never been. Any else been there and can provide a report?
  14. This Outdoortal Banner hides the functioning of the site. It blocks the search in the top right corner and is now blocking viewing of my PM's the pop up when you enter the site. Any way to fix it? Very annoying. Thx BRBF
  15. Opinions are a good thing they are what keep us free. Just ask Iranians. BTW which part did you see as untrue? FYI: Waterpatrol can't be everywhere on a river so party control is out of the question, beside the partiers could care less about a presence on the river. Have you ever watched them? they don't give a darn about anything except getting messed up and if jail is part of it so be it. Once again if you don't like party people avoid the river on saturday and sunday.
  16. All I know is powersite needs a new power generating dam. Have you seen the water just pour over that sucker without capturing any power at all?? And poor old Taneycomo gets the crap end of the stick with feast or famine for water flow. Seems to me minimum flow should apply to the whole entire basin and not just the big money players in Arkansas who wield plenty of Washington influence. Oh yea. Its also laughable that we install these dams for power for the humans and now we use them to cater to mostly non-native species.
  17. Without giving up all your secrets. How did you fish the rooster tails on Taney? I've fished them a bunch with very little success. Thx.
  18. Dana's is no doubt good. I guess I'm surprised that other local (even mom and pop) establishments haven't been mentioned. This is a big area and seems to be dominated by larger outfits including chains (which I can't stand).
  19. You know maybe Waterpatrol and Conservation Agents could assume some of each other's duties on streams and not sacrafice service. I'm pretty sure most people are sick and tired of paying any law enforcement salaries to sit in trees and bust kids smoking pot. Very stupid use of precious state resources IMO.
  20. Thanks RS. I think I want a solo due the the seat height and Al's big point of open floor plan. Really want to do a 3 day float on the James this fall and I will need plenty of gear to make it two nights. I need to sell a 14' Richline V bottom boat first and my budget is like $8-900 (with plenty of accessories) less would be better. Pro Bass would have to special order a Pack. I saw a guy on here bought a Field and Stream for $350 and I would buy one today at that price. Other suggestion of solos are appreciated.
  21. I took the ultimate 12 out on a float this weekend using a demo from a retailer. Overall I guess I liked it. It is stable in current like a canoe as everyone here mentioned. I am use to fishing from a john boat and therefore I found sitting down on the floor of this boat hard to get use to. I missed lots of good spots bc I wasn't as accurate on my casts given this seated position. It required quite a bit of correcting in slow water. Keep in mind this is my first experience in anything close to a kayak. I think if that darn seat where up about 8 inches I would have loved it. I spent most of my time on my butt because I didn't feel stable standing up which ultimately (pun intended) lead to a sore back on day two. Anyway I'm probably as picky as they come and I have the worst time pulling the trigger on any purchase and I did not buy the boat yet. I would like to try the raised seat that can be purchased. It did require two of us to load on top of a car. I think I could have loaded in the back of my pickup with no problem. Would like to ride in a 14' one of these but they only demo the 12'. I want to try a solo canoe before I make any decisions. Wondering if there is somewhere I could demo one??
  22. Awesome Pictures. I am going to Minnesota on a fishing trip next month. Can you tell me what tackle and methods of fishing you and if you had one your guides found to be effective? Live bait is what I am hearing from a few people who have gone on northern fishing.
  23. I have several john boats and canoes. Pretty sure the registration is not current on them. Is a current registration required to float on stream w/o an outboard motor or am I ok to use them out of date?
  24. Be nice to see those emails released. The media in our state ain't much better than the national media.
