Get ready Brian. You will get plenty of opinions both ways. If you like to eat fish keep em as long as you are within the law. And you are correct on the small ones tasting good. It is the good hatchery trout food. I would also clean them right up there for all to see too. God Bless the USA.

Just to confirm binman we fished from 8a.m.-3p.m. and the only whites we caught were small dink males. Electronics showed fish everywhere around aldrich bridge and up in little sac as well. We are guessing the females and larger males are staged ready for warmer weather. The water temperature was 48-49.5 degress. My guess is the white bass will go crazy next weekend while I am in AR.

OMG. I am just dang glad I went fishing this weekend instead of "spring cleaning" in my house. Might have found a pitch fork and headed to Lilley's Landing. I don't know if this was distrubing or outright hilarious.

I have no idea where I am supposed to ask about this body of water, I hope I have it in the right place. I have been invited to go to Rainy Lake in August. What does anyone know about it and what should I focus on to have a quality trip and any pitfalls to beware of?

Never thought I would utter these words. I AGREE. I will also echo what was said earlier about good contributors. Also if it doesn't keep active. Dump it. No camping after all. I went into Mtn. Grove Walmart while there on business and low and behold they had about 15 bricks of .22 and I bought 2. Federal 14.$$ per brick and that is all I could afford now. They didn't think it would last til the end of the day.

I use mine to tell where the temperature is too warm for trout in the summer, that's it. Like the man said concentrate on where warmer water would come into taney this time of year.

Maybe he is showing is displeasure of the un-availability of AMMO. I inquired about .22 brick at Walmart. The kid said when asked when it comes in "anyone's guess" and gave me the impression of just give up. Maybe I will go over and grab some camping equipment and set up a camp there at the sporting goods department. When they ask me what the hell I'm doing I'll say waiting on AMMO. When they say I can't just grab camping equipment without paying for I'll give them a credit card and say start me a tab and by the way go grab me some bbq chicken tenders, a case of Pabst Blue Ribbon, a cooler and a bag of ice because I'm staying until I get my brick of .22.

My experience has been whatever you do do not try to fish yourself. They will require constant attention and if you try to fish they won't get the attention they need and your fishing will be interupted so much you won't have any fun either. Just leave your gear at home. Just my 2 cents. Powerbait, trout worms are good choices.

Sounds like I should have stayed up there and gone out to see what a real boat runs like . You have it rough checkin boats and fishin all at once. I'm not smart enough to figure out how to make a livin close to fishin yet. Didn't get my boat out this weekend, but thanks again.

I filet everything with the exception of trout. 50% of the time I filet em and fry em and the other 50% I wrap em in foil with goodies. Scaling is kind of a lesson for kids like skinning squirrel. The whole where food comes from thing.
