Hey friends. Friday, a little league father whose son plays on my sons team fell to his death. He IS a great person. Active with his son and family and truly a Christian guy. He leaves behind a wonderful wife, with bone cancer, and two beautiful children. Cancer bills added up and I know that they are in dire straights. When I was notified of this, my heart and soul went to them. Our little league family will make sure all is well. But as you know, financial assistance is not the healing power that his family needs. Only God can do that. I had a long talk with the kiddos tonight asking them to put special words in for their family. I type this under misty eyes. The kids were so ready to pray that it gave me a feeling of whats going on in our house is the same thing that went in our house as kids. Love aand respect every minute you have and please give a moment in your daily prayers for this family's need. God Bless Them and Your Families Too Love To All, Andy & JoAnne

Crazy as this sounds, it makes the ribs absolutely tender. Place a tin can 1/2 filled with the liquid of your choice (water/applejuice/beer) on your chips/coals. This helps moisturizes the meat while cooking. When I lived down south, I would also substitute about one fourth of the cooking medium (charcoal/wood chips) with hickory nuts with the outer layer still on. The greener the better. Great smoke flavor plus the green hickory nuts moisturize the meat as well. Happy Cooking

Not The Ozarks But Fishing None The Less
Andy & JoAnne replied to Andy & JoAnne's topic in Other Ozark Waters
Yes indeed it is absolutely beautiful. I wish I could have gotten a couple of mountain shots. I still wish I was in Ozark Country with y'all. Thanks for reading -

OK...OK, I know its not the Ozarks but what a blast we had last weekend when we did a family camping trip. We headed out Friday morning to the Duckabush River here in Washington State. Its a beautiful area about 8 miles in from the Puget Sound. We arrived at the campsite and my son made a mad dash for the river, pole in hand. He caught a couple of small brook trout by the time camp was established. The fishing is pretty poor in that area due to how hard it gets pounded by other campers. I told him the next day we were going to take a trail up river to try to get into some better fish. So the next morning after a huge breakfast of bacon, eggs and fried potatoes, we took off. The first river access on the trail was 2.4 miles and approximately 1000 foot in elevation gain. By the time we made it to the access area you would have thought I was trying to take them to the top of Mt. Everest. We fished several holes along that stretch picking up a fish or two here and there. I was sorta discouraged as I thought it would be much better. Apparently a lot of people had the same idea. Even though the trail was right next to the river for a good part of the way, access was quite risky (especially with the kiddos) as it was steep and I do mean steep. On the way out, I noticed a small brushy game trail that headed in the direction of the river. We decided to take it and here is where the fun began. It led right to the river with only a short drop off to the river. Safe enough. We started to fish the pools and we absolutely tore em up. A bite on almost every cast, and a landed fish on most of them. They were all wild brook trout about 13-14 inches long. What a fight on an ultra light with 4 pound test reeling them in upstream in a strong current. This continued on for about 45 minutes before we had to leave. What a great way to spend a little time with the family. Even my daughter got caught up in the action!!! Every fish was safely returned to the water to fight again.

A preacher was doing a Baptism in a small creek. A drunk walked by and the preacher felt obligated to save him. He guided the drunk to the creek and submersed him. Lifting him out of the water the preacher exclaimed “Have you found Jesus?” “No” replied the drunk The preacher somewhat confused by his response immediately dunked him back in. Upon pulling him back out of the water the preacher said “Have you found Jesus!!!?” “No!!!!!” replied the drunk The preacher was now furious; he dunks the drunk in the water till he started flailing his arms and legs. The preacher again asked when he pulled him up “Have you found Jesus?” The agitated drunk adamantly replied “No, are you sure this is where he fell in?”

My wife and I took a trip into the North Cascade mountains last weekend. Living in Washington state, I dont have a whole lot to contribute to the site about Ozark fishing. I love this site and want to contribute something. Anyway, here are a couple of pics from our trip. The scenery is awsome but I cant wait to plant myself on Crooked Creek. These pictures do no justice to the scenery. Keep Your Lines Wet
