  1. I don't, but I can tell you that in a way, it's probably more popular with the local Jay and Grove bass anglers than Grand is. I've seen some huge tournament bags posted over the years from that lake and personally have seen pictures from buddies of quite a few over 10 from Eucha and Spavinaw. I've also heard that no area lake can compete with the Misinformation of bass anglers than Eucha. I guess what I'm trying to say is, it has a lot of large bass, but no one will probably give you any good information. You'll probably need to go fish and and figure it out. 02 cents, FWIW.
  2. Definitely agree with that. I'd rather have them than anything.
  3. So, given the fact that the state record Black Bass is 13lbs 4oz and the state record walleye is 21lbs 1oz.., what could the walleye that you keep claiming is "good eating" weigh when it grows up? More or less than the 4lb bass you are worried about? Just curious.
  4. I'm not. It was warm last weekend and these guys couldn't beat the fish off their hooks. I was busy and couldn't fish. Now it's cold and rainy. That means when I get to go fishing this weekend everyone will say, "you should have been here last weekend. They were on fire". That makes me cranky in anitcipation. What I like to do when I'm cranky is head to the lake and go fishing. It's a never ending cycle.
  5. Thanks for taking time to get the information straight from the source Phil.
  6. You know what they say about opinions, junior.
  7. I love the way LM Bass taste! Better than crappie, IMO.
  8. I'm curious why, in your opinion, it would be better if it was walleye? I can understand crappie. (i.e. short life span, prolific breeder).
  9. I guess I don't see how they were "wasted" if he took them home and fried them for his Gma. They also don't look like "big fish". If you look at left hand in the mouth of the fish, I'm think they are like 2-3# keepers. I can't stand the mentality of Bass fisherman sometimes. elitist-uptight-judgemental all comes to mind. To the OP, nice catch. beautiful fish. I can't wait to catch some 5#ers on live shad. Since they fight so poorly and reproduce very successfully, those are the ones I usually send home with boat guests for their fish fry. They taste just like a big crappie. I like to think that every time my knife touches a 20" LM, an angel loses it's wings or a unicorn dies.
  10. I just used Duct Tape and a permanent black sharpie. Po folks got Po ways.
  11. I like to take shots at wasps off the deck with my 25 year old Daisy while I'm waiting for the grill to warm up.
  12. You'll find that acorn fed Ozark deer are quite a bit different than Iowa farm ground bucks. a 140 might be the deer of a lifetime for a lot of hunters around Warsaw.
  13. I haven't been down there in weeks. Not because I don't want to, just been busy fishing other places. I can guarantee you there are crappie to be caught. If it was me, I'd try somwhere around the mouth of Honey Creek. It should be about time for the lower half of the lake to take off.
  14. Thanks guys. It was a lot of gathering for sure. My cousin is about 45. He never gets out to do this kind of stuff, he has two teenage boys that play select baseball in a different city every weekend, so it was a lot of fun getting him out and dragging him around the Ozarks on an adventure all day.
  15. My cousin and I attempted a Spring Slam Today. Started out messing with Turkeys at daylight. Had a couple on the property, but they zigged and we zagged. Oh well, left them at 9 am because we had things to do. Picked 2 or 3 lbs of Asparagus out of the ditch on the way to the lake, hit mushroom spots for about 4 hours, picked 300 or so morels-most of them fist sized. Actually had to take trips back to the boat to empty our sacks in the cooler a couple times. Then, to wrap things up we knocked out 25 crappie at dusk. Should have had 30, but I kept letting them go at the boat. It just doesn't get much better than this time of year..
  16. Wrench is about to get on here and sarcasm you into submission mister. You just wait.
  17. I'm sure it has nothing to do with ethanol since it has been dissected many times on this forum that there is nothing wrong with ethanol, right?
  18. I've found they melt and the terminals fall out for an emergency disconnect of sorts before that happens on my boat.
  19. Yes...,er...No...I guess what I'm saying is, maybe..on the other hand, maybe not.
  20. mine works fine....once I rewired it to an on/off switch.
  21. that picture of the little one reaching for a morel is awesome. I make the same face when I see one.
  22. I couldn't agree more. In recent years, I don't even like them breaded and fried because then all I taste is fried breading. I like to tase the morel.
  23. Found 47 this evening. Mostly Blacks, with some real large whites. They didn't look extremely fresh, but they were still good. McDonald County.
  24. This guy? Been buddies with him since we were about 7 or 8 years old. Actually, I fished with him in the first tourney he ever fished when we were about 16 or 17. My Dad and I might be his biggest fan outside of his immediate family.
