  1. 10-15# Hybrids eat my lunch with regularity. It never ceases to amaze me. Time after time I reach a point where I doubt I'm going to get them landed on 20# and a 7' MH rod. I usually do eventually, I just never think I'm going to. 20#+ Blues will wear me out. I winch and crank on them and they never seem to move. I'd love to get a few 25# stripers caught, but Scott will never let me know when they are biting. I'd love to catch some Amberjack, 35+ Bull reds, Jack Crevalle, etc. and will someday, but I haven't yet. I've only been Salt fishing twice, both times on party boats. Don't get me wrong, it was fun, just not exactly what I was looking for. I'm going to get down to POC in fall over the next few years and see what that's all about. I think it will be just the ticket.
  2. Things change Joe. You'll need to change too or you'll be left talking about the "good ole days". Will it be in your lifetime? Will the change be dramtic or gradual? Will it be visual or will it be something a little less obvious? Who knows? One day at a time.
  3. That's awesome.
  4. There's nothing to get fellas. This is just a bunch of grabbery. Everyone have a good weekend.
  5. You are definitely Elite, Al. No one is going to dispute that. How could we forget the Custom painted Wiggle Warts?. Nice call QB
  6. Possibly BH. I hope so. I'm looking for a loophole. I did DQ Scott's hunting critera earlier. I might have set a precedent.
  7. Very Good Stlfisher. I'd say Elite, but would need a picture of the Musky head to verify. For the rest of you that are having trouble with the concept (Scott) Examples of Elite:
  8. no. incorrect
  9. Elite is not a contest. It is a state of being. It's kind of like being 'awesome'
  10. Justin Spencer - elite Fins and feathers - elite (not for all of that hunting bs though. You're in for the high end saltwater gear) Stlfshr - get your head in the game. What do you think this is? Some kind of joke?
  11. All depends Ness, what is it? All items are not equal. For some items, ownership of one qualifies as "elite". For others, it may take 3 or 4. That's what we are looking for here though. The definition of Elite.
  12. Definite Elite. Can't believe I missed the list with that one.
  13. he has a hard time "chilling" Wrench. He's a Yankee
  14. It's all relative Marty. I personally drink Eagle Rare Single Barrel Kentucky Bourbon. Mostly on Fri. nights. Elite would be Pappy Van Winkle. I'm probably Junior Elite with the ER.
  15. +rep. Junior Elite. Nice Start.
  16. That's not a Southern thing G. Back on Topic. How about fishing line? Anyone Using Seagur Fxr?
  17. I sure hope you changed your login password last night.
  18. So, JoeD's Yeti post about Yetis and 4 blade razors started me thinking. So here it goes: What does it take to achieve OA "elite" status? Yeti Cooler? Phoenix Bass Boat? Megabass Jerkbaits? Steez Reels? Wenonah Canoe? Falcon Cara Rods? 22' Lund Pro V? 12" HDS Touch front and back? Humminbird 360? Twin Power Poles? How about the Fly Fisherman? Simms Waders/jackets/bibs? Sage ONE series? Waterworks Reels? Rio Skagit Line? NRS Clearwater Drift boat? How about your boat hauler? Ford Platinum? How about Sunglasses? Costa 580G? What does the OA faithful say?
  19. WTH is wrong with you? No one calling you back?
  20. Pat, Marty definitely outkicked his coverage with you. All I have to say.
  21. But in defense Joe, If a private jet were 10$, I'd have one of those too.
  22. ........... ...........
  23. I would love to see a picture of that trolling motor.
  24. Kayser, I've got a shed full of layout blinds that haven't been used in quite a few years. Some work as is, some need a little repair. If you ever get down to SW corner of MO, send me a pm. I'll make you an offer you can't refuse on one.
  25. How do 30$ Jerkbaits fit into this discussion? What about 600$ reels? Here is a Yeti cooler comparison. There are some that perform just as good or better. I think the only real justification is a trip where you need to keep ice for mulitple days. Day trips do not warrant the expenditure. Not to mention they are heavy as all get out and don't have that much storage inside for how big they are. none the less, buddies who own them love them but I think it might just be a way of making themselves feel better about paying 400$ for a cooler. But as Capt. Bill Babler said in the thread about boats, "it's only money" If you got it and want to spend it on a yeti, go for it.
