We did. Barely scratched out our 8 mallards but we got it done. Saw a couple BULL sprigs but didn't take shots at them as the mallards were working and it was late. My alarm for lst went off as we were picking up ducks from our last volley.

Nice afternoon with an old (20 years) friend. Have a buddy from "the duck capital" up here hunting with me. I just thought this picture was really pretty.

ducks are spotty at best around here. Relatively speaking of course. Sure, you might find a good group of them from time to time when conditions are right, but it seems like we spend a lot more time waiting for them then we do seeing them in this country. We shouldn't even be mentioned in the same conversation as Stuttgart or Missouri and Mississippi Rivers, IMO. Four Rivers and Truman Lake have their moments and so does Grand Lake in OK if they get the millet planted where they might start sniffing the 100,000 duck mark.

Dang layout blinds. I've yet to have one last more than three seasons and that's doing good. I just keep buying Finishers and now I have a graveyard of parts in the shed. I can usually get it limped back together. Reminds me that I need to fix mine. I broke the bracket that holds the lower supports to the frame last time out. You mean the field that you mentioned being 2 miles NW of the Public Area? I wasn't far from there this afternoon but probably still 15-20 miles away.

I went and scouted some areas that were holding birds before the warmup tonight. Still plenty of ducks around. I think they just dispersed with the warmup last week. I was looking at some pretty impressive groups of birds getting grouped back up this afternoon. I think after the next two nights it will be back on in my areas. Actually, it could have been back on this afternoon if I would have been hunting instead of scouting. I can't go again until Tues. afternoon and then I will be off until the 22nd. Hopefully it will be strong finish on ducks and maybe mix some geese in too.

Thanks Scott..I don't have very high hopes for the rest of it. That's not really much of a cool down coming and I haven't seen where there is going to be any snow North of us this time. I told the boys down in NEAR that if they get 10" of rain, I'm going to be on their doorstep by the time the sun comes out, but they told me I'm not going anywhere...they are coming here. We'll see.

thanks John. I was just using what the OL had in her itunes. It was kind of fun to make. I've never played around with Windows Movie Maker before. On the way Scott. This is the field that I was going to take you to the first day we hunted it.

I decided to play around with Windows movie maker last night and try and use some video footage we shot last week while duck hunting. My sister is 30 years old and had never even shot at a duck, so Dad and I have been taking her while we both had some time off from work. The shooting is horrible and the videography is shaky. By no means am I trying to pass this off as anything more than something I did to amuse myself last night. I promise I am not a black hoody wearing, pro staff wannabe, aspiring duck commander. 　 I'll also probably delete this post after a few days because I don't like my face or my families faces floating around on the internet, but I wanted to share it with you guys. Marty, does this place look familiar? Thanks for the comments guys. I pulled the link. I don't mean to exclude anyone from viewing, I just want it off the net. If anyone wants to see a homemade video of a bunch of ducks working a corn field, let me know and I'll send it to you. 11 days in the South zone. Get em while you can!

haha! Just saw this. We had the black eyed peas and Kale with ham and bacon. The wife says the black eyed peas are for luck and the Kale is for money. She always has some type of greens on New years.
