  1. Ya know, I can fix that for ya... :big_wink:
  2. Won't bother me bro... I don't own land up there and there's better fishin' elsewhere.. Besides, I heard their moving them city slickers in up there.. Got em convinced it's an Ozark paradise! But yeah, the jet boats (and their gigging poles) can definitely make it up that far...
  3. You can but the locals (and the ecosystem) prefer that you didn't.. lol
  4. Eric needs to check his math.. (Pinto's were practically free when the were new.. )
  5. You guys will prolly scare off the rest!! lol
  6. Name a 4 cylinder that isnt currently retaining its value and I'll eat your hat... On the used market folks do tend to avoid the ones who have had the guts pulled out of them... But hey, what do I know...?
  7. Thanks, most folks don't realize that towing capacities aren't normally set so much by how much a vehicle can pull, but how much it can safely stop.. (and thanks to Al too, for posting an example)
  8. Welcome to the forum, man... It's a happenin place.. you seem to have a quirky disposition, I'm sure you'll fit right in. When you make your way around to Lebanon you can look me up and I'll show you the rivers if I can...
  9. So no pictures of bass that we catch and release out of season?
  10. Hey, calm down!! I got used ones too... Seriously though... I dunno where you're getting your mileage figures, but It's been my experience (10 years in the used auto business, specializing in trucks) that the V-6 will get within 10% of the mileage of a midsize truck for the same trip and BETTER mileage when hauling that load.. (a GM I4 manual has a total trailering capacity of just 2400lbs as opposed to the full sized V-6's 5400 lb capacity... so when you ARE hauling OR traveling over 55mph you'll be cranking twice the RPM's) Since you are buying used I assume longevity of powertrain life would come into play... The full sized truck won't work as hard as the midsize, that should lend to a longer (more maintenance free) life... If you're less than stoked about a truck getting truck mileage, imagine how incensed you'll be when that little 4 banger blows up from being overworked.. Just trying to give some solid advice.... (and now that I've advised you I simply must insist that you buy your vehicle from me at a maximum profit margin :rubs_palms_together:)
  11. The Jetta's TDI is 140hp/236torque on a 2.0l turbo 4... I didn't see (after a cursory Internet search) any solid info on towing capacity, but many articles and such online seem to conclude that it's limited to 2k pounds... (as opposed to the trailering capacities of the midsized truck segment ranging around 2500-3500 lbs and the full sized segment ranging over 4500 lbs)
  12. Good catch, I was gonna point out to Dennis that the ecoboost isn't available in the configuration/price range you're looking for.. My suggestion (based upon the assumption that you are mainly considering new trucks and my professional expertise coupled with the info and backfill you have provided) is to go with a GMC/Chevy regular cab half ton 2WD with the 4.3l V-6.. You won't lose too much mileage from the midsize segment and you'll gain plenty of capacity (which translates to more available power if you aren't loaded to max capacity, meanwhile the small truck in 4,5 or 6 cyl configuration would be loaded to max capacity with the load you've suggested coming out of the water) I know where you can find some of these..
  13. But be careful to not do anything that could be construed as "not releasing the fish unharmed immediately" (I.E. Taking it out of the water, taking photos, bringing it into your boat or onshore even if dehooking it was your only intent) (there, now someone said it)
  14. http://s781.photobucket.com/albums/yy91/FishinCricket/fishing%20pics/?action=view&current=633490c5.jpg Fun stuff... I am actually in total agreeance with this... (not that my opinion is the end all be all authority or anything)
  15. How dare you accuse Laker67 of this!! We're trophy hunters, not snaggers!! You're just jealous cause we're THAT good...
  16. Yeah, it usually is when the discussion is about someone elses anus... Uhm, yeah... About that.. I don't remember that! ?

  18. You're too easy, Scott... lol Oops, slip of the tongue... Seeiously, its a Movie quote... Wild Wild West, I think...

  22. I was very impressed with Chiefs calm, and I don't blame him a bit for paddling on downstream past Mr Praters land after the first confrontation, the guy was being an butt...
  23. Hard to tell a story about something that didn't happen. Says the one blind fewl to the other...
  24. Thank you for the consideration, Greg.. I'd like to think that comes from giving us the benefit of the doubt in the first place... that's very kind of you
