  2. From what I heard it was $3.00 for adults and Kids are free....
  3. Hey any of you out there with cabin fever, Sport Boat USA has put together a boat show with a group Dealerships from the local areas. It will be at the old Circuit City Store on South Glenstone. Runs Thursday Night through Sunday. Food and Beer Gardens and Trout Fishing for the Kids. I get to go over there on Wednesday Afternoon before it opens and talk on the Don Berry Radio Fishing Show for G3 Boats. Stop by and check it out and browse over some new boats. Also want to congratulate Sport Boat USA for becoming the New Skeeter Boat and G3 Boat Dealership for the Tri-Lakes area. Needed another local choice for new boat purchases and service. Good Fishing Everyone.. Don
  4. Nothing wrong with those units at all... The 788 is a 640x640 screen with over 4000 watts and GPS nothing wrong with that, still give you great vertical pictures, and still does not break the bank!! But I would really start looking around right they have stopped making the 797c2 SI series and started making the 798 series so those 797 are really going cheap! Even better the 788 and the 798 are the same unit one with out SI (788) and one with SI (798) And Like I say nothing wrong with them at all! I guided for a full season with the 788 on the front of my boat, worked just fine just a smaller screen.. Good Fishing Everyone Don
  5. Here are some interesting shots from today Jan 24... Never seen so many shad in one place during this time of year and very shallow to boot... Enjoy.. Down Imaging the haze at the bottom is all Shad, the White spot you see right above the shad is a fish in the tree top, Yes they are there now, right in the middle of the creeks, this one was in a mouth of a small cut off of the creek chanel!!! Si View Same Large group of Bait Fish.. So many shad you have a hard time seeing the the bottoms on each side.. Small pod of Bait fish in the tree top, in the zoom window... Fish Hanging in a tree tops... Upper right hand top... Notice the ditch and look what is in the ditch.. All of those white dots are fish.. Bummer is was we had some really neat 2-D with fish streaking as well but the S/D was full.. Enjoy everyone questions just ask.. Good Fishing Don
  6. Stock Jockey here are the settings on my 1197.. DI beam wide DI Freq. 455Mhz or 800Mhz (455 works great for me, 800 is more detail) DI sens 3-5 DI Color Brown DI Chart Speed 3 SI freq. 800Mhz SI sens 3 - 5 SI Distance 100 Feet 2-D Mode switchfire clear sonar beam 200/83khz chart speed 10 Now remember these change all of the time but these are the best for displays.. Also remember that on the sensitivity for SOFT bottoms HIGHER the sensitivity (6 - 10).. Harder the Bottom the LOWER the sensitivity (1 - 5). If you go too high on the rock your screen will get white, bring it down in levels and the screen will darken. Next the Screen speed, SLOWER the speed for more details! Higher the screen speed less detail (this is used for searching) .. Play with the screen colors on DI and SI it does make a difference... Any questions just drop me a post.. Good Fishing Don
  7. Jaybird, I will get one for you, Maybe here in a few weeks, I have another SI trip in the morning we might even make our way over there to K/C we are going out of Indian point.. Hope to have really good DI pictures to display... Good Fishing Don
  8. Motoman, sure here is one from last year it is an SI picture no DI yet but I will get some.. This not the best picture that I have but I have to find the others on one of the many S/D card stashed away.. Enjoy... Good Fishing Don
  9. Good post Joe! these are like buying a truck which do you like better ford or chevy or like you Joe a Dodge.. Man we could be here all day.. I have my reasons for liking Humminbird better as do you with your Lowrance... Let's just go fishing and you make your own choice... But you are right ask questions to people that really use them.. Most will tell you pro's and con's of each unit and they both have them, cost is one for both!! Good Fishing Don
  10. Ya these units are really unreal! I'm going out on Sunday and will get some more pic's from the rock and will post.. Have some cool things up the Long Creek really wanting to see how they turn out.. Will post some more.. Good Fishing Don

  14. Don would the put the weight in front of the back hook and weight the front too? Really only on the back hook works best for me.. I'm just looking for the bait to dip pit's tail down and bring the nose up when suspending. Don
  15. Like both Casting and Spinning Rods Myself.. Deeper running baits I go to my Casting rods 6'6" to 7'0 Med Rods or a crankbait rod works the best for snapping the line and allows me to get it down where I need it. Shallow and smaller baits of course I go over to my 6'6" Med Light Spinning rods this rod is made just for this, very light tip with a back bone of of a med heavy.. Neat rod.. Line of course is the New AbrasX by Seaguar in 8 to 10 pound test on spinning and up 14 on casting.. Seems to work out very well, when in the water it just disappears and this new line has stopped the line cut at the knot for me and also with dock cables and cedars scratching it all up.. Well that is my 2 cents worth everyone! Good Fishing Don
  16. No nobody from the Business Journal.. Love to sometime... Hoping we get stable weather as well.. There is a lot of good fishing still to go.. Feburary can be a great time to get out if the weather allows.. Then March here we come go again.. Good Fishing Don

  20. Ok everyone of you Humminbird Freaks out there.. Humminbird just released the new software upgrades to add to your SI units.. No need to add another transducer or new box that needs to be hidden somewhere in your boat.. Just down load software to an S/D card install in S/D slot on your unit and the upgrade does the rest... Any question on the how too's just drop me a post.. Already done it to my 1197C SI works great!! Here are the Units that have the upgrade ready to download...
