  1. Tim, it is all a matter of what the sponsors want the big guys to run!! As far as everyone else it is my stick is bigger than yours! And from that point it just keeps getting bigger and more $$$$... My first tournament I ever won was in a 16' john boat with a 25 HP outboard.. Everyone went past us like we were standing still, but we still kicked their rear end!! It was great to see those guys look at us when we came into weight in they were all laughing and pointing, then we pulled out our bag of over 23 plus pounds on Truman Lake... They stop Laughing as I took their money! Still smile about that one!! See ya Big guy!! Keep the Skeeter and buy a bigger windshield cover so your head does not stick up over it... <>< P.S got to drive the new 250 4 stroke Yamaha just before christmas it is unreal for a 4 stroke!! Very Fast out of the hole and top end was very impressive.. Good Fishing Don
  2. Don, you would rather have your bait facing up instead of down or level. GF, basically I have my baits nose point up, not too much but just alittle, don't know why but it works unreal... I had taking a FLW tour guy out in the late winter and he showed me the trick of placing the sticky weight right in front of the last hook. He out fished me 5 to 1 his was weighted mine was not!!! Same bait!!! it just allows the tail to drop down and raise the nose up as it suspends. Just go buy some Storm stick on weights and give it try, you will like it.. Now I do it to all of my stickbaits, McSticks, Pointers and Megabass.. Good Fishing Don
  3. McSticks for me, they just seem to work better down here on the rock.. It has to be the way they suspend and the motion they offer under water, plus a new design the fish have not seen.. Now as far as the pointers they do cast much better, but it is the way they are designed with the weights that roll to the back then forward on the cast. Now as much as I hate to say it, I really have come to like the MegaBass baits as well, very very expensive but dang do they work! I own a dozen of them and there are times I can always get the bite off of the megabass baits. Only trick for all of these guys is to weight the back underside of the bait with a storm sticky weight.. It makes the tail drop when suspended! Fish just can't take it!! Good Fishing Everyone!! Don
  4. Catch More Fish and Mo Money! Mo Money! Mo Money!!! Hey I work for myself!! Happy New Year Everyone!! Don House

  7. Thanks Mr. B and all of the Table Rock groupies and I hope everyone on the site has the best and the most Merry Christmas you can have!! As far as the shows go this year I'm really taking a year off, after 6 years in a row the Mrs. decided it was time for a year off and to stay home this winter... I have to really say I'm kinda glad to take a break and relax.. I do have a few little things booked this winter, I have demo day's at Bass Pro Spring Fishing Classic in Branson and Springfield for Ardent Reels in Late Feb and a small demo day show at Sport Boat USA in Ozark for G3 Boats Feb 3rd, I will be a guest on Don Berry's Radio show that day as well.. So folks don't have to go far to say Hello!! And really that is it, kinda nice!!! And while I'm hear. Had a full day trip yesterday wow what a cold day to start off, fishing was slow at best on the main lake, but by noon things really started to kick into gear again.. Tried small jigs, shakey jigs and split shot rigs which worked well on Wednesday, but Thursday I had to break out the box of Mega Bass Stickbaits and that was the only way I could get the bite! Pretty much stayed around K/C area and the Lower White all day. All of these fish were spots or small jaws and all came right on the flat pea gravel secondary points in the creek arms in about 10 - 15 feet of water.. I guess they just wanted a suspending bait?? Fast jerking motion was the ticket for the reaction bite.. By the way the fish were slamming the bait really alot of fun!! Merry Christmas to all and to all Good Fishing! Don
  8. Ok, well I might be long winded, alright I'm long winded.. But they are really nice rods and a really good company that stands behind them.. They are made by Grandt Rod out of Chi-Town USA (www.grandtrods.com)... The Razor Rod is made by the same company as well.. Rick is the retailer selling these down here in this area he can take care of you with easy.. Just one of those things just like Mike Mueller states you just have to use one to really see how they work.. Also for those who are looking for a great Crappie Rod they have two or three models all depends on what you are looking for.. I really like the 8.0 UL Model myself very good rod.. Just go find one that you like and does what you need that is the ticket... Good Hunting and Enjoy, Spring is coming!!! Good Fishing Everyone.. Don
  9. COME ON PHIL AND BILL GET RID OF THIS GUY, PLEASE, NO REALLY PLEASE!!!!
  10. Ya guys my trip today was just like yours yesterday. Very nice and cool, with a great breeze blowing in... Small Mouth are still up shallow on the main lake points in the early AM, PB&J and Cotton Candy 3/8 Football Jigs tipped with twin tail chompers in matching colors was our ticket today early and lasted until around 9:00am, mixed bag of 14" to 18" small mouths. After the sun came up high and bright we moved out to the deep water hang outs.. Found really good fish but only in three out of 6 trees groups we visited today. But once you found the right tree they were schooled up pretty good and eating that Chartreuse 1/2 ounce Spoon even better.. Type of fish just get it down to the right depth of 30 feet and bang fish on! This would last for 6- 12 fish max, larger first then smaller fish then it was over... Also had alot of short fish today on the crawler and drop shot, just could not get the bigger fish to bite that thing.. Will be back out again in the morning, anything changes I will let you know... Good Fishing Don
  11. Might be on to something, I do some Humminbird trips with electronics, take folks out with their boat and electronics gear and tweak it for them. Even done some really nice installations.. Speaking of installations working on finishing touches on my new toy for the big blue tanker. Sideimaging on the trolling motor, 800 Mhz of SI power looking under boats and under dock stalls should be alot of fun.. Also don't tell Bill, but he really is the bomb on this lake, I wish I had half of the experience he has on this lake.. Good Fishing Everyone Don

Good Bye Ozark Anglers Paul, George and Ringo
  13. Gavin, that is about the most honest post I have read... Now lets recap... 1) Pro and Guides are a waste of time... 2) Following people around the lake is good or bad, still up in the air on that one.. 3) Guide Business is for whiners and guys with big egos and wrapped boats 4) Paul is some OLD DOG that a few of you know him, I guess or maybe he just picked a name out of the air and you guys fell for it hook line and sinker.. 5) Getting information from guides besides Bill on this site might just really slow down ALOT? 6) Eric your just wasting your time and finger tips from beating on the keyboard... 7) Everyone get over it and let's just move on... 8) Dang I'm really tried of popcorn... Hey, Paul why don't you start another thread about eating fish during the spawn, that one should beat over 2500 hits in two days. Boils down to this, I get to go fishing today and get paid for it.. What are you doing? Until next time Good Fishing Everyone George Washington
  14. Make it two please and add a coke, we are going to be here for a while...
  15. WOW, this guys just does not get it!!! By the way Codwater or what ever your name is, you still have not told us what you do for a living, or is it just DO YOU WANT FRYS WITH THAT? Funny how you leave that out... I don't mean to upset you by what the heck, RIGHT!! Maybe Eric, we should ask phil and Bill to create out own form that only we can have access to so we can how was it said "whine or bitch" about our jobs to ourself and just leave everyone else out totally!! Really a drag, but it would solve all of this that way we can talk about fishing and what is going on without have to be correct not to hurt anyones feeling by not giving them the farm.. So anyway this is not worth it Eric, if they don't like what we do or how we do it, then the heck with them, don't read our post, don't hire us, but also don't expect anything as well, just go figure it out yourself.. Let's go back to fishing now, I'm done eating popcorn.. Don
  16. My thoughts about you are this: 1) Well at least you can spell, I guess grade school is still good for you... 2) Yep sure do, all day everyday, Work Dam Right! Complaning about our job, nope just dealing with people like you.. 3) Jerk on really great Web Site that Hide Behind a dumb name. Number One thing the whole world can and will do without... Don't go away Mad, Just GO AWAY!!! Don House
  17. Wow, well here we go.... I will try not to get out of hand but here is my point of view on this matter.. I do not make a 6 figure income, heck not even close. I DO NOT have money in my family, I work very hard everyday at what I do, I put in my time and then even more time after that, my day's off are fishing looking for new spots for my clients and you know what I would not trade it for the world. I get to fish for a living, How many can say that?? What spots I find and use on a daily basis is to feed my family, Not for fun or a hobby, not even because I'm retired and need something to do, it is my Job and my life, I do not make money at my other job there is no other job!!! If I can't produce fish for my clients it's over in this business, SO YES it really bothers me when I sitting in a place with clients catching fish and a boat just pull's right in, cuts us off, bounces us around with there waves and does not even have the common sense to ask if he can or are you moving this way? Now I have to sit there with my clients who were catching fish and explain why some people are this way, Yes It's makes me mad.. Can I do anything about it, Yes I can, but not with my clients on board, that is just not professional at all. I have had times when I had to move because my clients wanted to climb over into the other boat and go at it, just unreal... I even tell my clients If you want to fish any of these spots go ahead, just don't fish them out and all understand and respect that. I guess the really bad part of all of this is that I would of said Yes if he just would have asked, just the way I am.. Bill, I hope the person who wrote that email will understand this, ask him what he does for a living and put the shoe on the other foot.. Hopefully he is the sales or service business were his clients are his route to feeding his family and I bet his tune will change.. Ok, well need to let this one go and get back to work, winters coming... Good Fishing Everyone Don
  18. As for me as well, like we talked about after our trips today at the ramp, slow, light and just a tough bite for sure. From what Bill is talking about on his post sounds pretty close to the DAM area as well. Fish are there but scattered and roaming around in very small groups or pods and just because you find the fish does mean they will bite. Early in the day we did get into a few small keeper spots early on the spoon in 30 feet of water on a big dock, even had a Nice Cat on a spoon and a few smaller whites and some short spots. We all changed over to the crawlers after 8:00 am, and was just happy to get what we could the rest of the day. Still a nice, fun, laid back day of fishing, just would have liked some bigger fish around to display what this lake has to offer. But thinking about it now I guess it is good that it slowed on alot of these spots with the Silver Nitttttro following everyone around, next time there will be a discussion... Got a big group in the AM going to K/C and give a few spots down that way a try.. Will let you know if it is any better that way... Good Fishing Everyone Don
  19. Nope Sorry, not from me, I'm like Bill getting tired of it! Get calls and emails alot.. I like the guys that tell you right up front I don't want to pay for a guided trip but can you tell how to fish Table Rock. I just laugh and tell them from a boat!!! Good Fishing Don

  21. Good Luck on your CPA series, it a good one, with alot of really good pro's... Just watch your pro you can learn so much from these guys, all are very skilled in tournament fishing and tactics... Good Fishing Don
  22. Spin, All White or All Chart 1/2 ounce and 3/4 ounce Hawg Jaw Spoons... Replace the hook with a Heaver wire treble hook and RED if possible, place a black dot on both sides up high on the spoon and away I go!! I get these at a local tackle shop down here in Kimberling City. Never tried the war eagle spoons, should be just fine, all in a matter of what you like!! Good Fishing Don
  23. I had one like this two years ago myself. Clear morning with a few black clouds up north, rain was coming but thought we have a little while until it hit. I had a group out of the Chat on the Lake, we had 4 persons with one cute little girl with really long hair down past her rear end. She was up front with me fishing when I looked over and her hair was stand straight up! I grabbed her and pulled her down on the deck with myself. Just then Lighting hit about 100 yards away from us on the bank, so close we felt the after shock! Time to go now! So I don't mess with this stuff... Good Fishing Guys Don
  24. Sorry big guy!! Hope you and Donna do well this weekend. Think of me as you are out playing! You two Be safe and bring home the money!! Don
