  1. Went and fished Zone 3 on Friday. Wasn't particularly crowded, as I didn't have to stand shoulder to shoulder and fish. Did well on anything olive green with my biggest fish, about 3-4 lb bow, coming on a quick retrieve of an olive wooly. I was impressed with the size and girth of the fish I was catching. Must have been stocked recently because I caught some quality fish, larger than the normal little stocker fish. Weather was a little warm, but standing in the shade with a cool breeze rolling through was really nice.
  2. Awesome. May try and catch some tomorrow.
  3. Last year I had great success on grey and white clousers. Chartreuse and white faired ok, but I only used them because all my grey and white clousers were all shredded up and coming apart.
  4. I always do well on midges. I can usually get away with 18's but sometimes they will only take 20's. I always try and have red, black, blue dun, olive, and tan zebra midges with me. Tan with a copper bead and copper wraps have been really good, especially around the gravel parking area up closer to the dam. Olive jigs are usually a hit, especially in slow moving off colored water.
  5. That's the toughest thing for me to do is give up on a spot I know "should" hold fish. I'll try out every fly that usually works below beaver before I'll move. I hate fishing 7x, but I realize that it's a necessity at times. Need to tie up more rainbow warriors and wd 40's.
  6. It's a nice piece. Talked to the boss and she said no. Good luck getting it sold!
  7. I did the jig. Got mine in the mail today! They all look awesome! Thanks for getting this together and letting me be a part of it!
  8. Post Office said they should be there by Friday. Thanks again for waiting. If I'm ever invited to do this again, I'll be more timely about it.
  9. They are! Finally. Sorry for the delay.
  10. I tied some micro jigs because I like fishing them. Reminds me of when I was a kid and fished with a worm and bobber for sunfish. These are light enough to fish under a small indicator, like a Palsa. 1/125 oz jig head (yellow is what I chose) Red thread Body: chartreuse laser dub Rib: black wire Collar: red thread Tail: midge flash Nothing glorious, but they're productive!
  11. Gotta get them in the mail. School work, work, and a 2 yr old have kept me from my vise recently. I'll get them sent by weeks end!
  12. Sounds like fun. Hadn't had a Jell-O shot in a while..
  13. Oh, micro jigs have kept me from getting skunked on several rivers. Midges are pretty staple below the dam. I've had luck with a burnt orange midge as well. Scuds in olive and tan have caught fish too. Best of luck!
  14. Looks like a good time!
  15. Amery, I think I'll find time to go in the near future! I wanna catch one of those!!
  16. If someone fills me in on what I need to do, I'm willing to play. I can find time to throw some flies together!
  17. I'd like to do that sometime.
  18. There a recipe for these? I'd like to tie some up.

  20. Really enjoyed the river! After talking to other people on the river, I found out the water was a little off colored. However, the fishing was a little slow. I caught 3 smallmouth on clousers and my buddy caught a few perch on rooster tails. There were times we had the whole river to ourselves, so that was enjoyable. I'd definitely like to go back!

  22. So tomorrow I've decided to make my way to the buffalo for the first time. I'm looking to spend most of my time fly fishing for smallmouth. Any suggestions for put in or take out spots? I'll probably have one of the nearby canoe rental places drop me off somewhere up river. Suggestions on who to use for what part of the river? Anyone wanna go? It's looking like it will just be me.
