Drifted From Dam down to KOA with best results from Outlet #3 down to MDC boat launch, still hits down to KOA but north side of lake produced the better results. Drifting and stripping buggers worked for us. Buggers were grey bead-headed buggers with grizzly hackle and grey marabou with a bit of sparkle.. Ginger bead-headed bugger also produced, but not as well as the grey. More hits on dead-drifting then stripping. Weather was hot but occasional cloud cover throughout the day until the big storm. Luckily we trailered right before the rain hit. (on a side note) isnt there some kind of noise restriction on the lakes? some airboat was running and fishing the lake and it had to be the loudest thing outside a drag strip ive heard in a long time....

chief: public roadways are usually built in an easement. personally i think that floating through a stream should be legal regardless of property. Wading though is a grey area, id probably settle with high water marks or if no visable high water mark exists 3-4 ft past waters edge. I do however think that a few bad landowners and more then a few bad citizens have screwed it all up for everyone. People who litter, mistreat others property should also lose their rights to the use. Wildlife and Fish are property of the State. With little exceptions the people should be free to pursue them within legal means as long as it laws are followed. Trespass Laws do need to be defined further, and I do think fellow outdoorsman need to help patrol as well. If you see someone abusing the land and fish you have a duty to report the infraction(s)

Under your logic youre punishing several organizations who actually believe in the concept of being a steward to the fisheries. it sounds like youre attracting bugs, in turn attracting bats. Dont attract the bugs and the bats probably wont be drawn to your boat. i dont mind bats, they eat bugs like pac-man eats dots.

The only way to lessen the chance of lake idiots: Find a lake with HP restrictions. Even then you arent safe, its just the odds are well in your favor.

i wont go near a lake on a holiday weekend.... Unless it has a horsepower restriction. Summer is hard enough to find a peaceful place on the lake. A Holiday weekend if you find a peaceful spot w/o idiots dont tell anyone, because they wont believe you

get yourself an infared deer camera. position it so you can get the thieves and thier boat number. Heck if the police wont do anything get copies and post it all around the lake showing the turdburglars.

My Clacka thats navyblue/beige also has a problem with it getting that slight white haze. Meguiars and 3M have good products. Once you get it gone use someting like turlewax ICE or bassboatsaver Leglocks take lots of abuse, the constant rubbing of jeans, pants and bare legs will slowly wear away the gelcoat.

The only way id anchor in a river is with a drift boat. They are designed to do so, and the system they use to anchor easily allows for emergency release. Drift chains are as dangerous as anchors, and like tax said they arent good for the river.
