  1. White Rock? Better pack plenty of food/gear/and anti-hillbilly deterrent. Beautiful area......but man what a drive to get to and its the perfect place for hillbilly unibomber. Cause' ain't no one living out there unless they don't want to be found. . I like living in country and wooded areas but that is what I call re-mote!
  2. I'll have to clear the schedule with the wife but I'm interested. Should be able to make it.
  3. War Eagle arm where it connects to the White? Or just past that in the War Eagle arm?
  4. And that folks just ended my interest in this lake!! Only good snake is a deadsnake that I never see.
  5. And suddenly........the boat population at this lake just increased by 10-fold! Lol! You could have PM'd me that tid bit. Haha!!
  6. Yep.....it was Lake Lincoln that I was thinking about that doesn't allow gas motors. Sorry. Great looking little lake for the kayak that I want to get one day.
  7. I thought I had read somewhere along the way that it was a no outboard lake. Must have been another lake. I don't recall the airport near the lake I'm thinking of either. I bet it will be later in the spring before any bluegill start showing up on SWEPCO.
  8. All good I formation. What about boating regulations? No wake? No motor? Limited outboard? Anything like that? I'd hate to drive to Crystal or others and find out I can't launch my boat. I've fished Bob Kidd so I know what to expect there (bent prop) :-). Its a stumpy little lake. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  9. Anyone know anything about these lakes? If these are hidden secrets, my apologies. Send me a PM and tell me to HUSH! :-) Also, what are the rules on these lake as far as boating? No wake, no motor, limited horsepower, etc? Lake Weddington? I know a new bike trail system was just recently built around Weddington and from Google Earth, it appears fishing with a boat is allowed. I heard it was closed down years ago after a child was killed after a moccassin attack or something like that. Lake Ft. Smith? Anyone fish that? Lake Elmdale? (off Elm Springs exit on 540) Crystal Lake? I read it was a "NO MOTOR" lake so you have to have a jon boat, kayak or canoe only? TJ House Reservoir near Ozark? That looks like an interesting little lake worth driving to check out. I'm going to be looking for some panfish waters this summer to take the family out for family outings since the "ski-boats" will obviously rip up Beaver Lake like they are the soul owner and have no care for other boaters. (gggrrrrrrrr!!!) I'm thinking these smaller lakes will be great for panfish and possibly a few bass or catfish.
  10. Nice. I was out of town and still recovering from severe sinus infections so I haven't been out since last weekend and that was to test the motor. I think I have all of the bugs worked out. One remaining and I think new spark plugs will solve that. Other than that, it's starting fine now. Should be good to go this weekend! I hope the water temps warm back up soon. We should be getting near a really good crappie bite!
  11. I was at least right about the current level. I said 6-7 and its 6.66 low currently. :-) Knowing that, I guess I can see it come up to normal pool but a real toad strangler again this year......anything can happen but I'm guessing no. Should be 2-3 above normal. That's my final answer. I call "mulligan" on the first one. Lol!
  12. I'm thinking you're right. Not even sure what it is currently but I saw that they have all the lanes on the ramp open at P. Creek now. It's a shallow slope so its hard as heck to launch but doable. I'm betting a 2-3ft shy of normal pool not knowing what it is currently. Guessing its about 6-7ft low.
  13. Anyone here about this? If it holds up and the IGFA approves it, that's one big ole fish! http://www.wired2fish.com/world-record-striper-caught-by-alabama-angler-p17960
  14. Don't know that. I didn't hang around or ask. Sorry. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  15. I heard that. They said the Smithwick Rouge was sold out the next day and that the Vision 110 wasn't as effective there. I like the strike King KVD myself. Tried it today but no luck. Action is like jerk bait on crack. All over the place and erratic. Good looking bait IMO. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  16. I heard it was around 21lbs. Probably an a-rig bite. 43.3-43.7 degrees is what we found so I'm surprised at the winning weight. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  17. Why couldn't I find that..................I looked forever and still didn't find this. Thank you guys very much!
  18. Thanks. I actually just stumbled upon this. I was looking through the Lowrance website and not Navionics. So once I plug in a chip, I can download Beaver for free? What size/type chip do I need? I haven't even looked at my unit or the manual yet. :-)
  19. I must be an idiot savant because I've looked all over Lowrance's website adn cannot find any "downloading instructions" or the WEBSTORE. I don't think they allow free downloads anymore.
  20. I looked for it. Can't find it on Lowrance's website.
  21. I picked up a Elite 5dsi chartplotter/down scan sonar at the Classic this weekend. Sorry, I mean to say which unit I have.
  22. Any deep opinions on which map I should download for Beaver? I don't plan on fishing many other lakes for a while but I just want to get a map of Beaver. I'd like to get the best map I can and possibly with 1ft contours if possible. Navionics has 1ft contours but not on lakes in Arkansas from what I saw on their website. Is it worth the plunge and paying $150 for an SD card full of maps?
  23. I'll say this for the H20 rods. I fished it and a GLoomis GLX on the same bait rig (drop shot worm) and between weight and feel of the rod, balance, sensitivity, etc. ......you cannot beat the Ethos for the price. Rumor is the rods are made by All Star which is a great rod company. The Ethos is an exclusive Academy line of rods. I bought another one for a finesse jig rod. Ready to use it. I can feel the slightest tick when fishing a drop shot. If you think you felt something, set the hook. It was a fish. They have a new micro guide rod out now as well.
  24. Does a bear crap in the woods? :-) Picked up a great deal on a Lowrance Elite 5dsi/GPS chart plotter and grabbed another H20 series rod for only $40. If no one has tried the H20 rods at Academy.......you're missing out. Rumor is they are made by All-Star rods. Its as light as a GLoomis and almost as sensitive. You have to have the two side-by-side to tell the difference. Which I have done. For the money......its $300-550 or $59.95.......you choose. I choose the cheap one and I'm happy.
  25. I'm here at the classic. Lowrance has about 15-20 guys over here that can explain anything about their products.
