  1. Very cool vid. What lake or general area was that? I grew up in South Arkansas. I miss cypress trees.
  2. At least someone is getting out and catching something.
  3. That's incredible (I wasn't doubting anyone btw). I wouldn't have pictured waves getting 7ft on an inshore lake (other than the great lakes). I remember watching Zona and Overstreet on Rayburn a couple years ago and it got rough. Small craft warnings? That's crazy stuff!
  4. 7ft???? I've seen rollers as tall as 4ft with 1-2ft chop on top of that (5-6ft total) with 30-35mph winds on Beaver Lake. It was more than I wanted but my little RT188 did very well. Most people think a tin boat will beat you to death and you cannot get on big water but if you know how to drive a bass boat, it's fine. I don't prefer water that rough on any boat. Just beats up your equipment.
  5. Y'all are killing my plans to Guntersville this year. I can make one long drive a year due to work and time away. May have to ponder this one.
  6. I don't even own a Megabass Vision 110. I highly doubt I'd invest into a "zombie bait". :-) Besides, the stroke often occurs when the baits starts to "freak out" and try to retreat, which creates a reaction bite.
  7. Very good point about the interaction and quarter breaks Champ. I think that's the exact reasoning. Besides, how could Iconnelli spy on others if he can't find them in reasonable time? (jokes)
  8. Ha. That's funny. I'll keep my cast net skills in order.
  9. Good to hear it's settling out.
  10. Cold water doesn't bother me. Cold muddy water full of shad .....well that does. It's starting to clear up in some areas. Jerkbaits are probably the best bet on Beaver besides warts right now. (Overall) Some guys are dynamite with both. Some (like me) catch em on luck with those baits.
  11. No sorry. First time in quite a while is what I should have said. Scott Suggs knows Ozark lakes well and if he was struggking, I dare say we all would have struggled on that lake that day. Ned or no Ned. I do agree that the Ned would have put more fish in the boat however. I have that much confidence in it but.....there have been days where I didn't get a bite even on the Ned.
  12. I haven't nor am I going this weekend but I know some on the water. I'm keeping kids this weekend. Otherwise it could be tempting. I'm betting my heart wouldn't be in it aND would not fish very long. I'm over the dirtyears water. Ready for something normal.
  13. Oh and if you put Shryock's hat on Watson's head.....well.
  14. Just now watching an MLF episode today. Glad to see ole KPINK has not completely retired. Hope he does well.
  15. I'm not complaining about him per say......I really don't pay that much attention to them. They are "refs" so they need to be impartial and such. There is one guy that is just.....a bit on the dry side. There was one ref with Mark Davis laughing at his comments. I enjoyed seeing the refs being "human" and enjoying their job/role. Mark was saying "He looks like ole fat daddy. He's been eating at the same places I do!" lol
  16. You are probably correct. I have no doubt he is. I agree with ketchup that some things are better off "not said" or unprofessional. On the flipside, look at Tommy Biffle? Better yet, don't, no one needs to see those nutt-hugger shorts. LOL! He threatens everyone with verbal threats all the time. "Don't you fish my spot boy!" Point being, you can say things that could be perceived as threatening and they shouldn't be said. Especially not with a big smile on your face and laughing when you say it so it's clearly meant as a joke. Now in Watson's defense......if it were that one ref that is as cold as ice and has zero personality, I can't say as I blame him. I don't care for that ref either.
  17. Does anyone else find this post ironic? Just teasin' ya bud. You know I respect you.
  18. Fast forward to 5:24 on the vid. About like that? LOL! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4YC-4n0ap0
  19. Oh I know. I was just entertained at your presentation skills.
  20. That is strange. I used Red Label on everything for a while because it was reasonably inexpensive. But the line memory is terrible. It feels like it gets dry and course feeling. That's why I like PLine CX because it feels buttery soft when first spooled and stays that way for quite a while. A micro spinning reel will test the line memory of ANY line and will curl up any line eventually. But I do like those little reels for finesse fishing and crappie fishing. Compact and comfortable.
  21. Cleverly written! I was expecting him to say "I do not like green eggs and ham"..... LOL!
  22. I have my opinion but not based on MLF. I believe it was last year's FLW event (or year before) he was expecting to win it and his practice went really well. Come tournament time, he did not do well. And.........like many, blamed it on something that has no bearing on his results. How can you go bragging about the a lake's quality fish population saying how he's "on em".... and then only a few days later say the very same lake "sucks" and blame it on something he knows little about? So yeah, I can see him complaining a lot on how he didn't catch them on MLF. And if he did, he would talk more trash than Fat Cat Newton!
  23. Red Label sucks. I stopped using it and it does not have good line memory. I used it often for a while but once I went to CX and InvisX I noticed a lot of difference.
  24. I tried Nanofil once when first trying the Ned. Broke off 3 and stripped it off my reel. Super light action St Croix spinning rod, 6lb Nanofil I think and Dave's jigheads. I was not happy I lost 3 of Dave's artwork in under an hour. Went to FC, rarely have I lost one since. I even use PLine CX Premium with it and no real issues. I did see PLine CX out fish Redlabel Seagar one time. I thought it was the line color at the time. The CX WA green, and the Red Label was clear. In green tinted water, 4-5ft visibility in 20ft range of fishing.
  25. Loosen your drag. (saying that jokingly and with respect) Seriously, that could help reduce it.
