  1. Same thing I found Saturday. Shallow bite was completely dead. One area I was about to leave suddenly became active when people walked down to their dock making a bunch of noise and talking. It turned on the fish. Beaver. Think opposite. :-/ High water, colder temps, and boat traffic has them in a funk. Fish scattered all over. I have found large groups, I just haven't gotten them to bite. But I have been by myself and not trying a ton of things.
  2. Table Rock is doomed. Doomed I say!!! One striper will feed on all the women and children first. Out of sheer spite. Then it will eat the daddy bass. And all that is evil with their insatiable appetite will single handly (or fin in this case) desecrate and massacre such a tremendous fishery!! Only the skinny 12" spots will be spared to tell the evil tails of debauchery and savage feeding frenzies!!! (Insert large claps of thunder and an evil laugh here)
  3. Its a Quasimodo strain fish. ;-)
  4. Projected release times? I have the app. I don't recall seeing that.
  5. They released the gates at the dam by 6" today around noon and full generation. Bet that will impact your fishing for a while.
  6. Way too much boat for a lake of any size short of the Great Lakes. I know LOZ has races and I believe it was last year that one went airborne and crashed? And that was in a sanctioned and zoned race area. To have these type of boats on the water with ski boats, Jeremiah, sailboats, bass boats, kayaks, etc is just borderline negligent homicide. To cross the border to the other side is only about 5 seconds and one mistake. If they were out cruising at 50-60mph and minding other boats and not racing in between people, I could care less. Enjoy the lake and stay safe. It's the fact that they are racing, driving like they own the lake swerving in and out of boat traffic and purposefully and intentionally showing off that makes me angry. Revving the motors like they were John Force about to drag down the strip, playing obnoxious music at volumes where words can be heard and understood at 1,000yds (this happened at Prairie Creek Saturday about 3pm), well thats begging for attention and just shows what they are all about. Childish behaviour. Yes I have a stereo. It can get loud too. But not that loud and even if it did, I wouldn't cruise by the front of the entire marina blaring music at that volume. Although there may have a time where Jimmy Buffet "may" have been a little too loud when I first got it installed. ;-p Hey, music is nice in moderation. I get it. But the scene I witnessed was borderline live performance volumes and bass so loud, I swear I could feel it at 1,000yds. Water carries sound easily.
  7. I heard you guys shocked a 10lb bass near point 12 a few years back. Bet she was a sight! Would love to go with the guys on a shock trip just to see what surprises float up. The science and record documentation would be fascenating let alone seeing some really large species float up.
  8. ^^ Well that is cool. Glad to have you here!!
  9. Oddly enough about the forage, I saw shad schools this winter that were bigger than houses and now, I haven't seen a bait ball in months. Rather odd. I know they are not gone. I just haven't seen open water bait balls on side scan or sonar in a while. Yet I've seen bass chasing shad. Still a good bait population for sure.
  10. Game & Fish? Or other? Biologist I assume? Just curious.
  11. So where do you get all your information?
  12. ^^ Starts a provoking thread.....then drops the mic on the floor and says "Thank you" Now that's funny.
  13. All it takes is one fast speeding boat to kill a family and a speed limit will be enforced. I hope no family is every injured much worse killed. We all should enjoy the lake. But within safe limits. Unfortunately, one person's opinion of safe is as different as hair cuts.
  14. Dang. That's a ton of pressure. Beaver is already and over fished body of water.
  15. Lol!!! Yep. You would. :-)
  16. Why is it so bad?
  17. Know nothing about this. I assume it's very stable even though you sit up high? How is this an advantage over a yak? Is there one?
  18. You look shocked. Lol!!!
  19. ^^ Totally agree!
  20. Maybe we should just start throwing fish at offenders. (Kidding) Although I'm pretty sure the guy in this vid is fishinwrench. I could see him doing this. Lol!! https://youtu.be/QMGlHVBrhao
  21. I did go on a big holiday weekend so I'm not surprised by Tue traffic. It was actually a lot better than I expected. Pretty much nonexistent until the sun came out for a while. I can only go on weekends and the occasional after work trip so I go when I can. While talking to the Sheriff, he waived over the Game and Fish boat which was also patrolling. So I had them and two Sheriffs in a group. So I'm reporting the request to contact the Sheriffs office for violations. They know about the big ocean racing boats. Some of them are run by guys in their early 50's, some in their late 20's. Doesn't matter how old they are. They are all racing and weiving around people making it dangerous. The most uninformed mariners are typically the weekend family in ski boats and barges and these are the ones out on the main lake most of the time. And I saw lots of bass boats racing yesterday too. One was racing a ski boat. Sadly, it was right in front of a Ranger with a center console boat. As in Park Ranger, not FLW Ranger. They were racing to the 12 bridge at about 60-65 and they were side by side. Technically, no violation on speed since there isn't a limit but it looked like wreckless behavior considering oncoming barge and other traffic headed other way. Didn't start this as a rant thread, although the subject will stir up rants easily. I'm just saying that all are guilty, not just a single group. Common sense is not used and evidently, not all that common. So please report violations when seen. They need the reports to get the manpower and enforcement needed.
  22. Some of you that are old enough to know the pun and joke within this subject line after reading this post. Here's a hint, it was an old western movie (very funny movie btw) I spoke with the Sheriff's Dept. this afternoon after having a cigarette boat fly past me about 80mph and forced to turn in order to avoid collision with me. He was trying to cross my course and heading to get around others. I turned right and forced him to stay left. I also reported anglers not using lights while on plane during the week at night, speeding through the no wake zone on plane at night at Tue Prairie Creek Marina, wake traffic in back of coves damaging docks and endangering other boaters, kayakers, etc. So for all that have complained here about the violations, I was told to simply do two things: - call the Sheriffs Dept. AS SOON AS YOU SEE A VIOLATION - Email the Sheriffs office to report complaints officially The gentleman I spoke with was very understanding, very nice, and as a fellow angler, he has seen more than his fair share of "stupid". So I'm passing along this info and email address. When you see "stupid" and dangerous activity, report it! Call the Sheriffs office immediately. And if you know the jerks in the cigarette boats that have a boat club (there are about 5 of them), tell them they need to stop racing and weaving in and out of everyone. This isn't an ocean and ocean boats are not needed on a heavily populated lake. Too heavily populated I might add. Email complaints to: jason.woods@bentoncountyar.gov
  23. Hrs not joking. It's sad how much one man has. He truely has plenty. :-) Paints baits daily.
  24. I agree. And walleye info is becoming sacred and not anything you tell anyone.
  25. Evidently, Table Rock bass like gay baits. Because Joe hammered them last weekend. Lol!!!!
