Interesting theory and while I would agree initially, it makes me ponder the possibilities as well as the complexity of how or if that would work as you stated. Other than the fact you wouldn't have to troll as deep due to light penetration and water clarity, one would initially think it would be easier however, boat traffic can be worse due to location (being closer to Rogers/Springdale/etc), water run off from the two rivers impacting fish behavior, and overall forage makes me wonder if it's just as difficult at times only in different ways. One thing is for sure, if you figure them out on the upper end, should be easier to replicate with variations on the lower end. I would think....?
I know for a fact yesterday I trolled through some good mixes of fish and one school of roaming whites without a single bite. As npierceuark stated above (and cleverly I might add), the whites get on a movement pattern and can be turned off for weeks and won't hit a spoon or trolled bait. They're on the move and that's all they are focused on? Could be correct and sounds plausible to me.
I just know I zeroed yesterday after giving it a good effort. The plan was to go for stripers but that didn't pan out. The fish disappeared as soon as the traffic started churning the waters. Easily 200+ boats on a mid-week day. Everyone has serious cabin fever that will last for the rest of the month and into early April.
