  1. Per RPS previous comments, I'll bring surgical booties for my shoes. :-)
  2. Man T. That's fast for a nice rig like yours and a 175. I've been in a 19ft Ranger with a 200 Johnson that couldn't find 60 with a tail wind. Lol! Very respectable top end.
  3. Not according to Mike McClelland and he's what I would consider a valuable source on jerkbaits. Since he grew up on Beaver and other highland reservoirs. Either slow rise, totally suspeneded and no movement, or fast rise. The fish will tell you which they want. Every once in a while, you may want it to slowly fall nose down but it's more rare I'm told.
  4. Any day you catch a 5lb bass on Beaver is a good day. Those suckers are smart and tougher to catch. Well done sir. Thanks for sharing the photos too!
  5. You got a good point there. That is a hefty stripped bass. Holding up this big ones can wear on ya.
  6. Nice fish. I'd look a little happier if I had one like that. ;-)
  7. Fishing time is the best resources at finding fish. Doing the time and homework will produce fish and make you learn in the process.
  8. Nice. They are definitely not in mine. Only been twice this year so far.
  9. Probably the same place where my missing crappie tackle box is. No where to be found.
  10. I see crappie and a walleye in that bottom picture.

She wouldn't let me take the boat. I tried. I even invited her to go fishing with me. . Women. (Haha!)

At least he didn't throw a catfish in your boat. He's known for that. Wish I could get out this week. Stuck with weekends only. I would have gotten out this weekend but was enjoying "Johnny Morris Land" with the wife. (Big Cedar & Top of the Rock) I hope you get into them! :-)
  13. Your very welcome and the nd for the post! Those new Ray Marine units are nice.
  14. Definitely fish for sure. Probably trout as you stated. The middle one puzzles me. Could be a rock formation. Hard to tell with that color palette setting. The new Raymarine units are new for me. Uses chirp technology if I remember correctly. I'd like to see that middle image with different color palettes or setting adjustments.
  15. Yes it would but not likely as you said. And, it a massive body of water. They tend to pick smaller waters so the competition is not so spread out. They like the close competitive nature and added pressure of having anglers within close proximity of each other. I'd say smaller lakes have a likely shot. The one down in Star City is a good example. A bit too small but not likely anyone has fished it. Greers Ferry? Maybe but probably too large. Lakes around Little Rock area are also good possibilities. It's a big body of water and a big puzzle and tough to crack. Some locals know some secrets and bring in some hefty sacks in local events but it seems only the locals that win tournaments know the mystery that is this lakes reputation as "tough".
  16. Beautiful fish. Smallmouth are awesome.
  17. Sounds like a grand trip to me. :-) Glad you were able to see a bud and fish with him. Got a few myself I'd like to take fishing if they'd ever come for a visit. You're getting pretty good with that rig. :-)
  18. You should see my rod locker! Lol It's very clean, rod sleeves, tackle stowed in separate boxes that are sorted and labeled, etc. Sorry. Off topic..... I agree with your earlier comment wrench. If it was called whale tail more often, it would not have such appeal but some folks need it on smaller vessels as a cheap fix. And it works well on smaller vessels. As he pointed out earlier....."I got it" so he's got his answer. We were all trying to help out. As always.
  19. Oh no there is no feud. Just jumping to conclusions and Beaver was never mentioned previously in any posts and has no bearing on original posts/topic of this thread. I was jokingly stating that forums are never short of opinions. Generally speaking and not pointing out anything else. That's when things went south. Literally. As in south of Table Rock for some reason. Lol!
  20. Looking forward to spring weather

  21. My comment was refering to other websites that have discussion forums. ie: Bassboatcentral, etc. Certainly NOT forums on THIS website as the quality of people here is above board. But yes, it has been a bit boring over in the Beaver forum as of late. Most of the frequent users from years ago have departed or rarely post and the seemingly occasional "I hate Beaver" posts probably do not help. Here are two lines for you to read between since you misunderstood my comment above: __________________________________ RUDE __________________________________
  22. And I say that in respect. :-) I'm often accused of over cleaning and such myself.
  23. I bet you even shine your foil. Darn boat looks like it just rolled out the plant. Lol!
  24. Oh but people are so quick to supply opinions on a forum. Some forums are much worse. This one is laid back! Lol
  25. Yep. Agreed.
