  1. In the short time I bass fished Saturday on Beaver (which wasn't enough time spent), I too noticed does seem to still have a mixed pattern. Beaver is ALWAYS tough in me in the fall. Evidently they don't have a Bassmaster subscription and know they should be in the back of creeks and secondary points feeding up. They like to roam out in the main channel and suspend deep. I'd like to get some quality bass fishing in before winter. Maybe I need to drop my latest copy of Bassmaster overboard so they can study up and get right. Lol And the day you don't catch a bass on a War Eagle spinner bait with matching grub trailer in your most productive color in the fall is the day you get mad at those green fish.

    Idiots

The need for politically correct making anyone and everyone happy no matter what is what's killing it.

And I add that I've heard as of recent some really stupid things from folks in sail boats, personally witnessed stupidity in pontoon boats and bass boats this weekend. So it's not just the wakers anymore. It's everyone.

I used to attribute it to "just ski/wake boats". Now I attribute it to human nature and how we as a society have allowed people in general to "get their way". The loudest voice typically get what they want. The obnoxious typically get away with being obnoxious. The morons......well they will continue to be morons. The aggressive will rule while the passive will sit back and watch it happen. Then post their dislike for it on Facebook. Lol! Ok that's really sad and not funny. So.....the aggressive folks will flip you off because you raised your arms (a sign of frustration and anger) and will retaliate with the universal symbol. They know not nor care not what provoked the arms raising. They are not concerned with your well being or satisfaction . Only their own. Human nature and society today have become all about "me" and what makes "me" happy. Not you and your well being. And the passive will let it happen. It's human nature. So next time something like that happens, smile and wave. Because it's all about them, not you. :-)
  5. Find a spare battery and try that first. Borrow one from something. If it's battery, that would show the source for sure. Sometimes batteries test good when they are really not. Also, could be drawing too much current which is why the graph turns off. My old boat did that if I trimmed up the motor. A lot of current draw and it would switch off the graph up front.
  6. It's not a plume, could be vapor from heat. I mixed it per the instructions to follow their ratio of gardener to resin. Back to the original question, what should he do to repair his canoe. I think the West Marine system is overkill.
  7. Same here with me. I still bass fish. But there is at the very least $300-400 worth of bass baits at the bottom of the lake from me bass fishing over the years. And I've learned far more about fishing, the lake, and fish behavior from trolling than bass fishing. I enjoy both. And stripers, it's my mission to catch as many as possible (legally) so Champ feels warm and fuzzy about it. :-)
  8. Lol!! Great to hear. I made that recipe up from scratch one day. It just turned out so good that I had to share it. I got lucky on the first pass as I was writing it down for a recipe. Yep, never get tired of it. The BBQ sauce will add just a bit of mystery sweet and tanginess.
  9. So you liked it? You're very welcome.
  10. Here is the photo from the bottom of the hull I had to cut a hole in the floor above to access for repair. Below you see the finished repair with the filler securing the joint and resin coated glass laid over in 3 separate layers. A view of the filler prior to the resin laid glass overlay. I should forwarn you.......this stuff will get hot and will setup hard within about 2-3 mins. You MUST keep stirring it or it will begin to smoke and harden and once it's hard.........that's it. You just wasted a lot of resin. Yes I said smoking. So wear a ventilator or mask of some type. The chemical reaction gives off smoke once it starts to harden if it's in a large quantity like in your mixing pale during application. It won't smoke or reaction when on the boat itself. Only the mixing pale. I used plastic disposable paint mixing pales because of this.
  11. Yep. Here it is. Enjoy. :-)
  12. Nice. I recommend my blackened fish recipe for the striper. It's awesome! You can tone down the spice if you don't want too much heat or seasoning but Ole Bay crab boil seasing is the best ingredient. Really makes the fish flavorfull and tasty. I believe it's on this forum. If not, I'll repost it. Not kidding, blackened striper is as good as blackened grouper or Mahi. Maybe Amber Jack too but that's pushing it a bit. Lol
  13. No sanding that I recall. Probably would help with a very course sand paper and then clean thoroughly afterwards. The West Marine kit is expensive but it's one of the best of not the best available to the public. I had a gash where the hull was separating. About 3-4" long. I made a batch of "peanut butter" which is silica powder mixed with the epoxy resin as a filler and then overload it with fine woven glass in 3 layers. Then came back with a generous top coat and I'll be darned if it was not the strongest part of the boat afterwards. I drove that boat like I stole it on rough water and it's still going strong today. I just saw it yesterday for that matter. The new owner was taking it fishing. That's been almost 2yrs now. I think....maybe a year. I have pics but for what you're doing, it's way overkill. With West Marine, you can cut a hole in the boat, glass it, and then gel coat it. If it's going to see a it of Sun, you need gel coat to seal it from UV which will dry it out and yellow over time. Again. ...this is for a big boat. For a canoe, the repair cost may warrant a new one compared to the West Marine system. Easy $200 for materials. Maybe more. Tulsa has the closest West Marine but you can ship it too. Just not express mail because it's a hazardous material. Call Ozark Trading Company out in Pea Ridge and see if they repair or would make a trade for a comparable canoe. They have lots of stock. Just something to explore before plunging into fiberglass repair. It's actually quite simple but the supplies......that's where the cost is. And why bass boats cost so much.
  14. No but ibhighly recommend West Marine Epoxy system. If it repaired my 15ft fiberglass boat, it will be the strongest part on your canoe. It's as strong as steel.
  15. Good report! We need more bass reports here. Thanks for sharing! Yep, I don't think I splashed water till after 1.
  16. First thing he will do is remove Angry Birds. Lol I can show you too. I also have DVDs.
  17. Yep. I remember that. Jeff Kreit. I couldn't think of his name but yes, that's the other pro.
  18. Ah big spoons. Nope.
  19. He owns Hydro Wave. Him and another pro.
  20. Yep. I'd like to have a 40+ day of whites.
  21. Yep. Nice graphs sure make it more enjoyable and informative if you know how to read them and what to do with them.
  22. I'm honestly not a believer yet with the hydrowave. I've seen it on many times without luck. However.. ...in the right application, I bet it could work.
  23. He rips it off the bottom about 3ft or so. I do the same thing and even use his rod......and he still beats me. :-) Maybe I can get my son on them Sunday when I get back in town.
  24. Um. Nope. And that is?
  25. I still have lots of interest in it.
