  1. And that map was awesome! Thanks!! So I started at your spot and began retying baits for 20mins and then you tried a new bait.....a mini a-rig with 3 rooster tails. While in concept it sounded good, in reality it's 9 hooks! What do you think happened! Yep....catches itself more than fish. Cut that headache off and tried jerkbaits, big a-rig, live crappie minnows, a couple of crank baits, etc. Saw fish biting and fish were at 15ft like F&F said. I eventually saw a small 8-10" bass chasing a lone shad near the boat. He struck at my jerkbaits but wasn't interested. He wanted what he was chasing. So I tried trolling.......once! Lol!! The boater in me got bored and I want casting or driving fast so it didn't last long! Lol! That and the 3 striper boats that had just rolled through that stretch with about 10 rods a piece had not caught anything. It was overcast while I was in that area. I then proceeded up river and went into a cove I really like. Found lots of fish, massive bait balls, played with my new graph and such. Then I went to Monte Ne and played for a while. Wind was turning better and churning water around noon and still couldn't get a bite on the a-rig on points. I admit...... was having WAY to much fun driving the boat more than fishing. :-). Its good to have it running again and without any trash in the carb. Boat ran great! I'll post some cool structure photos later. I finally got the settings right. Its not a HDS 8 or nothing but for $300......I have a color structure scan/chart plotter combo and I like it!
  2. Well you can let the cat out of the bag because you caught them all!! Lol!! I'll report later with details. You gave me good info....they just left after the sun got high. Several striper rigs trolled same area without a bite. You can lead a horse to water but you can't makehim drink! Or catch fish evidently! Lol!
  3. Don't think I can duplicate but I'm going to see if I can stuff my little 34yr old live well!! :-) Only have about a half day available but going to see what I can find. "Only I and the Joint Chief of Staff know the secret location of the lock-box." - All Gore. :-)
  4. I bet it continues to move over the next few days. If they start generating.....it will move faster and get muddier.
  5. I'd like to know that myself.
  6. I wonder if all this rain is going to mess up all these fish you fellas have been catching. If my final boat part comes in tomorrow.....I hope to put the repairs/tinkering behind me and get back to fishing for a change. . If there is going to be trash all up river.....I'll wait for it to settle as its not worth it. I'll go try something else.
  7. I couldn't make it either. I wish I some of the details.
  8. So how did the meeting turn out?
  9. I stand corrected. :-)
  10. So does Lake Ouachita and it produces large bass. I agree that stripers can impact the bass population but.....small bass are abundant in Beaver. Not the larger bass and stripers are not affecting the larger bass I don't think. Not anymore anyway. I used to feel that way. Truth be told, I think the bigger bass hang out with the stripers and feed on the same forage.
  11. I've heard the same thing many times. I need to try Table Rock soon myself. Never fished it.
  12. That's because the big girls are smarter and have been caught about a dozen times in their life. As much pressure as that lake sees....there are some fish that have never seen a lure but there are those who see them all day long.
  13. Hey carefull............I'll take you up on that one! I'd love to take a trip on your rig and watch and learn!
  14. F&F... I wish I had your knowledge and experience. :-)
  15. Cool report. Thanks for sharing! I too want to do this one day. Just for the fun of it and to get a taste of how the big tournament world is. After that.....I'm done. Just one time for me. :-). Too expensive to do it often.

Are their DVDs available for his show? I feel I missed out on this guy. Sounds awesome.

    Flw Day 1

I've heard the same thing from several people. You can't treat people like that. Once you get a reputation like that and you start plugging your gear every 2mins on your fishing show more than you do fishing or teaching......well. You know. :-) I'm curious in what will unfold over the next few days. Warming up and sunny. Early bite and then late afternoon bite. I heard they were fishing till 5 tomorow.

    Flw Day 1

I honestly don't know why he's touring. I was disappointed today. I figured the a-rig would not factor today but then I heard about snow flurries this morning and thought surely someone will catch a 20-25lb sack. Evidently... only locals can catch a fish over 6lbs and a 25lb bag in this lake. :-). All that equipment and experience and 19 is in 1st place. I mean fishing this lake is tough but most were saying today would be the best day and the sun is going to hurt the bite. I don't believe that cause I've seen 20lb sacks on blue-bird skies with water at 38 degrees. Not my sack by any means by the way. :-)
  22. About how big? Looks nice!
  23. The rig is legal in FLW. the post practice videos say its going to play a factor in the top 10 as the week progresses bit it won't be a solid pattern to last for 4 days. I agree. Finesse tomorrow with the luckiest anglers finding weight. Then it will progress back to several types of baits. The fish were biting well until this afternoon. :-). They'll bite again as the week progresses. They will travel vertical tomorrow and the next day then come back up. That's my guess.
  24. If anyone finds one..... I need a boat stretcher too. My 15ft needs to be 20ft and a 200hp on the back! Lol!!
  25. White Rock? Better pack plenty of food/gear/and anti-hillbilly deterrent. Beautiful area......but man what a drive to get to and its the perfect place for hillbilly unibomber. Cause' ain't no one living out there unless they don't want to be found. . I like living in country and wooded areas but that is what I call re-mote!
