  1. The top one is a blank from a Megabass Vision 110 copy. BUT - I finished it with foil, so it should sink slowly. The bottom one is a surface / wake copy (like a grown up Bomber Long A). I put the heavier hooks and also affixed metal tabs to each end in hopes it'll sink. If not, it may be a good devil's horse type bait. I'm not picky lol
  2. No need to go spending $15 per lure...... Just get REALLY BORED at your house, round up a few eye-screws / props / super glue, and in about after an hour of sanding/gluing/grinding/drilling/a little cussing (allegedly-I'm not copping to anything); you too can have some Redneck Spy-Baits Seriously, I was messing around last night with some blanks that I order, and I must say - I'm going to give them a whirl Friday morning! PS - I'll get that last hook on the 110-copy tonight - I left one at home.
  3. I can paint that if you'd like

  5. Jason - It's me, Joe. We shared a parking lot during the blizzard last year
  6. Sorry - I keep hitting the wrong button.... To finish the report, we didn't catch anything keeper-size other than a couple 15-16" spots all day Saturday or Sunday. The smallie in the pic was on an Umbrella rig, one of our keeper spots was on an umbrella rig, and everything else (dinks as well as the other couple keepers) came on a drop shot in 15'-20' around trees in the backs of Cow Creek and that area to the right as you're pulling out of the moonshine ramp. On the umbrella rigs, we had the new Sizmic Gruibs from Kalin's (I am a BELIEVER in those on umbrella rig, drop shot, and wobble heads) in Rainbow Shimmer color. We throw the 3.0 size: On drop shot, I caught a bunch of dinks and the other keepers on a Roboworm Leech.
  7. Left Springdale around 4:00pm Friday afternoon. Crossed the dam around 5:30, so I dropped the Beast in at Moonshine for about an hour. I thought that we'd stumbled into a full fall frenzy after seeing all the surface activity, and getting this pretty lady (just love the markings on this girl) to the boat: She was right at 18" (forgive the double picture of the same fish - I don't get to catch too many smallies over 10" or so LOL!), so I figured around 3lbs maybe? So that was within the first hour of the weekend (Friday early evening); and that's when we should've called it a weekend, kept the boat on the trailer, and saved some gas
  8. Must register / pay at Mobile Marine Repair and Tackle by close of business Saturday before each tourney. I want to say it's $25/person dues and $50/tourney, but please don't hold me to that. This will be my 5th year - they are always fun.

    Idiots

I'm guessing most of the public wouldn't care since they don't drive boats. I can still wish that folks would drive on the right (like we do on the roads) when out on the main lake. I think it would be safer.

Oh yes sir, you bet. It would be great if we could all get together and agree which side we'll be on when moving a certain direction though

We were running back from Cow Creek to Moonshine around 12:30 (picked up Miss Sherry and lil bit for a couple hours of family fun) and had to run the middle of the channel three different times because there were pleasure boats on each side coming at me LOL! You are right in both counts: 1. Still some ffks out there in need of a boater's course 2. Sure was a beautiful weekend
  12. 5-6 minutes if we launch from state park sound about right? Went to the back of Indian and saw lots of action by no takers. Thought maybe we'd try to get in the back of a little dirtier creek tomorrow
  13. Oh.. Thank yoyou
  14. Sorry for the dumb question. In the attached pic, do I have Long Creek correctly identified with the two pins? We are heading back home tomorrow, but my buddy said he wanted to try Long Creek first.
  15. Umbrella rig tonight for an hour out of moonshine yielded an 18" smallie
  16. Dang it Aaron, don't say that! Miss Sherry, lil but, and I are headed up to Branson this weekend. I'll have the Beast (like I ever leave home without her - haha!). It's supposed to be easy this time of year on the Rock!
  17. I figured I would be home by the time y'all headed out.
  18. Where is the best place to find tournament listings for the Rock? We come to Branson kind of frequently, and sometimes I like to try a derby. We'll be in Branson this weekend, so thought I'd ask. Thank you
  19. I put in at Hickory, and fished Piney Creek - sorry that I forgot to put that.
  20. I had a really nice recap typed up on the phone, but I hit a button and lost it. So... Short version: Water clarity: couple feet I think? I could see a bright crankbait about that far beneath surface. Temps: 66 at launch (7:00) climbing to mid-70's when I left (1:00 or so). First cast on a new color scheme I've been working on got the little guy in the first pic. Second little guy was just really marked well so I snapped his pic as well. Caught a couple hand fulls in total, but I don't think anything would've kept. Tight lines! Joe
  21. I'll holler once I hear from mechanic, boss. Either my transfer case or tranny in the Ol' Tahoe puked this morning
  22. I think it's like anything else, it's a tool and not a magic box
